  1. Agreed, what Al_B said there sums up perfectly my feelings on the Kaiser and how he became "Mr Motherwell" in my eyes. These days, I think it's very difficult to describe a player as a club legend and is done so far far too often. However, the term footballing legend is more likely these days as a lot of players change club. For example, if faddy's goal in france had resulted in us getting to the Euro's then he would've instantly became a scottish footballing legend, writing himself into folklore. It's not always about how long or how consistent they play, but very often a split second in a players career can escalate him into the upper echelons of fans minds. For me, what makes a legend is also about what wonderful thing they do in their careers, as well as how they carry themselves off. To my mind that's how the likes of Henrik Larsson, Brian Laudrup, Davie Cooper etc will go down as footballing legends over some other fantastic players who carry themselves with disdain and aren't professional in the slightest.
  2. I'd eat my hat if we got £480,000 for Steve McGarry:lol:
  3. Martin Rose - he is the current Chairman of the WellTrust and there are many people out there that are in strong disagreement with his place there
  4. i'll echo that... i'd love it if we could get another wee fairytale run this year
  5. Get Martin Rose off your register. The day that happens is the day loads of folk sign up!!
  6. it's funny how even wee things like car stickers, t-shirts etc entice people to join, for potentially very little initial outlay
  7. i don't think you have a suitable platform to reach the fans to properly inform them of what you are doing, this is maybe one of the main reasons for the scepticism?
  8. when are brechin and st mirren due to play? Reckon Jim Duffy might have a wee scare in store for the saints

could the club not loan / hire our heated balloon thingy to Inverurie for the game?

    Inverurie Locos's

Ross County? That's over 100 miles away from Inverurie! Peterheads ground isn't really all that much better either, and their pitch protection won't be any better than inverurie. I'd be very much against forcing Inverurie to play their game elsewhere, as it's there prerogative, regardless of what level of football they play at. But i see where you're coming from

Topics merged. I agree with you Neil, although not sure they will ask for a switch.
  17. Further to a previous post, thought i'd put one up so that no one would miss it: Aberdeen FC and Inverurie's Ground Staff have failed in their attempt to get the pitch ready for the Scottish Cup tie to go ahead tomorrow, therefore the game has been postponed. The match is re-scheduled for Wednesday 21st January 2009 at 19:45.

    Chris Porter

I love the Express! 'Mon the Chrissy... reckon he could become a real favourite at Fir Park if he stays on... even if just to guarantee us a good transfer fee.

    Harlaw Park

if it's anything like the Butchers Arms on George St, it'll be rubbish! P.S nice and mild up here this morning, with a forecast of 10C tomorrow in the north east, game will be going ahead by the looks of things. Expect a strong wind though, wrap up! (and no, I'm not having a curry tonight...)
