  1. We could lose or last 4 games & still finish 2nd because the teams below us keep cutting each others throats. Obviously id like us to clinch 2nd on our own merits & preferably against Celtic but i think 2nd is already in the bag.

Oh ye of little faith :whistling:

The whole team's performance was so good i would say Randy was our worst player & that's coz he had hee haw to do for most of the game. How often do you get to say that about an old firm game?

  2. Notice that he said if the core of the team stay together he will be more likely to stay. Very similar to Randolf's statement earlier this month so it appears that all we need to do is keep Law & Faddy then Higdon & Randolf will resign. Easy as that :victory:

  3. Edit:

It's not revealing at all Dave, well it is in a way as it reveals they are all either at it by being selective, or possibly none of them have the full story? Or, its just more smoke and mirrors, I'd guess they are all at it, none of them will reveal what the true proposal is

    Quite staggering stuff in there

Clubs have failed to sell proposal, but we still don't get told what it really is

Lets make mistakes then try and sort them, pmsl, yeah we've got a great record on doing that (under 11-1)

Hosted a meeting on 11-1, to tell everyone it wouldn't be changed, but it was never voted on? Wouldn't have been that hard to add vote in at a meeting, and maybe discuss any matters that needed to be reserved

Meaningless games if we had a 14 team league this season? Is anything decided yet this year? Actually sick of this meaningless talk from all clubs, its upto clubs to get supporters on board and they supporters come along to watch their own teams

Bullying, clearly he is an understanding individual who didn't in any way use his platform to try and push all the problems that Scottish football is facing into one man/club

But yeah, i dont think its revealing to those who have been following its just more spin

You can dress it up anyway you want but as far as i can see all Killie, Hearts, Hibs & Aberdeen's league games are at this point meaningless. If all that is at stake is finishing one place further up to gain an extra few coppers or professional pride then i don't see either of these reasons bringing the fans in especially the away fans. This isn't a slight on those clubs coz if we were in their position then our support would suffer as well. People have a hard enough time making ends meet without forking out money to go & watch what is effectively dead rubber.

  4. I don't think 12-12-18 is as bad as once feared. The fact of the matter is we don't have enough decent teams for a larger league right now; we might have to put up with having to play a handful of teams 4 times a season until we can expand thanks to the fairer distribution of wealth. Who knows, it might even be a great new format in the meantime. Regardless, clubs can't currently afford to play 6-8 less matches per season.

We're also at last going to have a single governing body, something the Scottish game has been in dire need of for years; we shouldn't be sniffing at an opportunity to change this.

The main concern is the voting structure, but does it really matter? Not everything is 11-1, and what are people worried about happening under this system? There's enough change under these proposals to keep us going for a while.

Even if Rangers are back in the top flight in a few years time, what are they (along with Celtic) going to be able to do under this voting structure that we're supposed to be worried about?

I'm not hugely positive about the reconstruction but there are so many positives with few real negatives in the package being proposed; the clubs seem to genuinely be putting Scottish football first. We're all so keen to talk down the game and bemoan everything that's wrong with the current setup, maybe it's time for a change.

It's not what they are able do it's about what they can stop the other clubs doing ie fairer distribution of money etc that may come up in the future.

  5. I think most people who are for this proposal are people who think their club will finish in the top 8 so they won't be affected by the zeroing of points etc. I'm not convinced it's a coincidence that the only dissenting voices we've heard are from St Mirren & Ross County who could easily find themselves in the bottom four after the first set of games. But for me it's all about treading water until the zombies return then it will be back to as you were nothings changed & everyone still bending over to let the OF give them a right good rogering.

  6. According to McCall some of our out of contract players have told him they will be leaving which is fair enough but i just hope the remaining ones either sign or do the decent thing & sate they will be leaving. Really don't want another Jennings situation where he keeps the club hanging while he waits to see what else is on offer. Here's what we can give you either take or leave it no messing the club around coz if they are leaving replacements have to be found.

  7. If McCall is thinking of leaving he could do worse than remember who our last few managers were. Craig Brown, Mark McGhee & Jim Gannon all without a club at the moment. Bet McGhee & Brown wish they had stayed at Motherwell a bit longer before jumping ship to chase the big money. The grass isn't always greener.

  8. Possibly swap the last 6 seasons for a Scottish Cup win but not a hope in hell for a League Cup win. And id be willing to bet you would find a lot of St Mirren fans would gladly swap their League Cup for the last 6 years we have had.

In fact no i wouldn't swap for a Scottish Cup win either i've already experienced one of them so now it's all about being the best of the rest over the season & not just getting a lucky draw & winning a handful of games to win a cup.

  9. If he does go i hope he takes Kenny Black with him. Although the 2 of them seem to work well together i'd hate to see Black in charge even on an interim basis just stinks of Malpas all over again. But i think McCall will stay he seems to enjoy where he is just now.

  10. On the topic of reconstruction i see that the SFL are going to be asked again about accepting the old firm colt teams into their league. The idea being should the senior teams piss off to Antartica or whoever the hell else will have them then it means they still have a presence in Scottish football. If that goes through watch the fans walking away in droves leaving empty stadiums & team after team folding. But hey the old firm will be happy so everythings fine.

  11. Yes, that was my point too.

We need to be careful to use valid arguments when making a point and not mis-represent the facts. I know this is an Internet forum but if we are passionate about an issue we should get it right.

For me the thing that is missing is the confirmation of what will happen in subsequent years. If this is a first step to a fairer distribution then I can see some of the logic to it, most teams will do better out of this set up than they would from the previous one. How much of our anger is because we have a shot at second place. Are Dundee fans angry?

None of this addresses the issue that the communication has been poor on this but I am prepared to give our club the benefit of the doubt that they have a better view of the bigger picture than I do.

A quick look at the Aberdeen forum shows they are just as angry as us & they have no chance of 2nd place.

  12. McCoist confirms interest in Nicky Law.

Motherwell midfielder Nicky Law and Middlesbrough defender Andre Bikey are also on the radar.

McCoist said: "Nicky is another player whose contract situation we are aware of as well.

"Again, he is one of a number of players we are looking at.

"It's a sensitive situation because these players are under contract at the moment to their own clubs and they've got a job to do for those clubs and, indeed, the fans of the clubs they represent. So it's very delicate."

I guess we will find out if the boy is interested in furthering his career at a decent level or chasing the money at zombieville.

  13. No worse than normal. Just a bit surprising to see him come on given he has been so far out of the picture recently. Would have thought Higginbottom would have been a more obvious replacement as he has at least shown some promise. Daley has had plenty chances and didnt do anything to change anyones opinion today.

Why did we take this guy on loan if we are not gonna play him? Surely we are paying at least some of his wage which seems strange we would spend finds we don't have to have someone from another team warm our bench.

  14. Bollocks. Sorry, but that's just ridiculous.

Tell that to the chairman who constantly claim they can't survive without cash form a tv deal. Do you honestly think a club like Motherwell could survive on the basis of 4000 odd core fans & no tv cash? You have a nice wee fantasy world where everyone cuts their cloth to suit their budget so no tv cash is needed but this is the real world where tv cash rules football & clubs like Motherwell Killie etc get more money from tv than they do from fans coming through the gates.

    Quote from Killies chairman yesterday

He said: “Television can give with one hand and take away with the other when it’s terrestrial companies who are involved in coverage of football.

“There’s guaranteed income paid directly by the broadcaster to the home club and that’s obviously a good thing.

“But we already know the crowd will be affected because the game is open to everyone on television.

We can’t complain too much because the cheque from the TV company outweighs the loss of people at the game.

The bit in bold tells you that you're the one talking bollocks unless you think the fans are going to come flooding back coz theres no game on the tv & pay the extra admission prices to make up for the lack of tv cash

  15. People who want rid of McCall & suggest Calderwood as his replacement really need to get a grip. If you want 1st Division football then aye the tango mans the way to go otherwise keep him the feck away.

Just coz you can take Motherwell to Champions League glory in FIFA doesn't mean it's possible in real life. Time to step away from the Playstation
