    Malpas as manager. Nae bother.

What about the Spanish goal machine? Is he not good enough to even make this team

  2. Some people need to wake up & remember that we are Motherwell & we are never ever gonna be world beaters. On paper Dundee Utd should be pumping us every time. A club like ours needs the rub of the green & this season we are getting very little of it. Even this game when originally scheduled Utd were on a terrible run & missing their best players. Through no fault of Motherwell the game gets called off & for the rescheduled game they have a full strength team & are on a good run. That's the luck we are having right now so hopefully it will even itself out over the course.

  3. I thought that Ojamaa had improved in the match on Friday, but Higgy lost his way a bit. When we aren't humping the ball up te Higgy, then we actually play some tidy football. Sell off Daley, he can't play football, Humphrey should get one last chance but sell him off if he doesny up his game. The midfield need to come back and defend much more and not leave space behind them.

Who do you seriously think would pay money for Daley? I think we would struggle to find someone that would take him on a free transfer coz he's a waste of a wage. With so many playing out of position the midfield don't know their arse from their elbow so not surprised people are being caught not tracking back.

  4. I’ll have what your having.

The way we are playing at the moment, we haven’t a hope in hell of beating St.Johnstone.

St.Johnstone (add score here) Motherwell 0

    This 100%

Would have more chance of scoring in a nunery than Motherwell have of scoring on the park. If you don't take shots your not gonna score simple as that.

  5. surely there is the same amount of managers available mid season and close season?

Every close season there is a plethora of managers who depart their job either by being sacked or a parting of ways so no there isn't the same amount of managers available just now that will be available close season.

And just because a manager gets sacked doesn't necessarily mean he's crap. AVP got sacked by Chelsea but i wouldn't class him as crap. I'm not saying we could ever attract a guy like that i'm just saying that there's times when a perfectly good manager just doesn't fit in with a club & gets sacked but could do more than a good job for us. Come close season we will know if we are looking for a new manager or not but by God please don't hand the job to Kenny Black :hang:

  6. Maybe it's all just a clever ruse to keep scouts away from Fir Park so we don't lose anyone in January. When the window shuts we'll start flying again.

On a more serious note if he is going to insist on playing Law & Lasley as his midfield duo would it not be better to have Lasley as the holding midfielder & letting Law push on as he has better pace & the ability to set up more chances than possibly anyone else in the league.

The only 2 concerns i have with McCall is his complete lack of a plan B & his absolutely dreadful use of substitutes. How often have we seen him wait far too long to make a change & then when he does he either takes the wrong player off or brings the wrong one on.

For all those people shouting for McCall's head would they rather have a Jimmy Calderwood, John Hughes type of guy? Coz that's all we could afford & would be available mid season.

  7. Manager Stuart McCall said: "Hutchie will be out for a couple of weeks. We'd be very delighted if he were available for the St Johnstone game the week after but I think that might even be pushing it too early.

"But he is certainly out on Friday night. Adam Cummins is free from his suspension so it's like for like, a centre-half back and a centre-half out."

I take it from that Cummins will be playing so no doubt will see Kerr at right back & Hately in midfield :dash2:

  8. 1. Wasn't an awful performance. Gave as good as we got and were pretty narrowly beaten.

Can't agree with that coz Hearts are utter pish this year ffs they are the only team Dundee have beaten so to not even trouble their keeper over 90mins is a bloody awful performance.

If we had lost 1-0 to East Fife would you be saying:

Wasn't an awful performance. Gave as good as we got and were pretty narrowly beaten.

Or would you be saying that to be playing a pish team & not trouble their keeper over 90mins is a shocking performance?

I think we will come good again pretty soon maybe even Friday but for anyone to say that performance against one of the leagues worst teams was acceptable is kidding themselves on.

  9. Depends when the game was played.

You cant ignore the fact that some games are just less attractive than others for a whole host of reasons. If you want to put more bums on seats you need to look at pricing.

Theatres give reduced rates and group booking offers for midweek/matinee shows.

Holiday companys drop their prices outwith school holidays.

The Friday night experiment appeared to be successful. Whether it was financially for the club, I dont know, but lets try different things. Test the market, see where it takes us.

Not saying it's a bad idea. Makes good sense for the home team to get more in for these less attractive games & it is great for the fans of these teams but you would risk alienating the fans of the clubs you're charging full whack. Having less of them turning up would negate any profit made by the extra punters from the reduced gate games.

  10. Excerpt from correspondence sent out on 11th September, section highlighted in particular .....

As for their credentials, presumably candidates were asked to list their suitability for the role as each have a "profile" ranging from little more than a brief summary no more than a paragraph long through to some akin to full CV's.

A request for volunteers to put their names forward for positions on the WS Board was included in the letter accompanying the Membership Cards.

Cheers for the info guys certainly clears it up a bit.

Surely 22 folk applied, and that's who we choose from?

Or is like the X Factor where they weed folk out before they get near Simon Cowell and co?

That was my initial question & if what Andy says is true then there is a weeding out process going on peoples credentials. Don't know if i like this idea as lets be honest if some complete numpty was a candidate they wouldn't get voted in so why not just let everyone who put their hand up have an equal shout of getting in.

  11. Dynamic Pricing wont work.

    Cutting prices might.

£20 for a WC Qualifier on Friday night but we are paying more than that for an SPL game and Scotland games are now £32 for a seat that doesnt have a shite view.

Maybe not comparing like for like but Scottish football is overpriced for the quality of the product.

Increasing the quality is a long term project. Cutting prices and giving fans better value for money could be done overnight.

You could look at fixing costs for games on a case by case basis however. St Johnstone at Fir Park on a freezing Tuesday night in Feb clearly gonna draw less than say Hibs or Aberdeen at 3pm on a Saturday.

Cut the price for the former. Standard prices for the latter?

Would you be happy if Dundee gave St Mirren & St Johnstone fans reduced entry but charged Motherwell fans full whack?

  12. How did these 22 candidates manage to become candidates? Is that just the people who put their hand up or were there others? And if there was then what makes these 22 better candidates? Just hoping it's all being done above board & not a sneaky way of getting us to choose between 22 yes men.

  13. I,m obviously watching to much of Le Salvager on the Discovery Channel dash2.gif

Just contact one of those Discovery Channel programs like Megastructures tell them we will let the make a show about moving a football club/stadium and sit back while they do it & pay for it
