  1. No need for the IMO. Saunders is young and should get better, but he is a bombscare at times. Still, he is a Scotland cap...... Hateley is a far better RB but never a centre midfielder.
  2. Blackman is the major concern - he is absolutely vital to our chances of having a decent season. Much depends on whether Blackburn want him back or try to punt him in January. The sheep have no money so Broonie may try to tempt him north in January on a loan deal. Hopefully he wants to stay put and play every week, but there must be a number of Championship level clubs aware of what he is doing up here. They could afford any token fee that it might take for Blackburn to let him go in January, whereas we/the sheep cannot. Gow - not overly concerned if he goes, but would rather he stays. Reynolds - definately won't go there. The sheep can't afford a fee in January and even if they tried to get him in the summer, I am sure he is intelligent enough to know that it would be a shyte move to that graveyard for footballers. He is far too good for them. Fitzy - new deal with us I suspect. Even if just till the end of the season to allow the new manager to have a look at him. In short, don't think any of our lot will head north unless Milne puts his hands in his pockets and gives Broonie some cash to spend.
  3. Perhaps not as ridiculous as it sounds! We need someone from outwith Scotland who can bring in half decent players at minimal cost, like Gannon did. Broonie had loads of contacts to go with his experience, hence Blackman and Randy. None of the usual suspects (McPherson, Hughes, Calderwood) will be able to do that. Van Der Gaag might be an interesting option but not sure if he would even be vaguely interested. Alternatively some lower division manager in England might be the way ahead. I put my trust in Mr Boyle and the board - they have a good record of unearthing managers. In the immediate short term bring back Muttley - just till the Aberdeen game is over. Please.
  4. The first person he will be after is Blackman. Aberdeen might even miraculously find some cash for them to sign him permanently as I think he is out of contract with Blackburn in the summer. Just hope he doesn't want to move even further north.
  5. That's the only solution IMO and regrettably, it ain't going to happen. The Old Firm have always and will always get almost every 50/50 decision in a game, as well as fairly frequent shockers like the one on Wednesday. We see a big difference every year when they play in Europe and don't have their twelfth man helping them. Levein may be a moaning faced b'stard but he was quite right to have a go when he did. Gannon had a go to and got nowt but grief from our tabloid friends. Scottish refs are only interested in maintaining the status quo and then trying to line their pockets, a la Clark and Dougal, when the time is right. As non old firm supporters we have no option other than to deal with it cos it ain't going to change. Don't be surprised when it happens again.
