  1. This is what I've always thought really. But when you think about it, the one thing that does and always has hindered our growth is 'the old firm'. With the old firm, we will always be consigned to feeding off the putrid scraps from their table. We can never grow into anything more than a sideshow to the celtic and rangers brand. For this reason I think the only option we should consider is to hammer Rangers as hard as possible. It's a golden oppurtunity. Yes we'll take a big hit to begin with, but it's a matter of ambition. Are we to simply know our place as the lapdogs of the old firm, or can we take the leap to be equal contenders in a genuine, competitive Scottish league? This is without even considering the fact that it's completely outrageous in itself to readmitt a new rangers in terms of fairness.
  2. I don't see it as a case of firing them out. It's about letting a new club in. It shouldn't happen. The thing about Rangers fans ticket revenue, I'm sure they were advocating a boycott of all SPL clubs for our insolence in slagging fuck out of them and wanting them deid. So it might be the case that that money is gone either way. As an aside, people often bring up policing cost, but surely they're pretty negligable compared to the ticket revenue they come with, like with pie sales, people often mention them while 'm sure the number of pies sold are numbered in the hundreds at games.
  3. There's a fair chance the SFA will suspend Rangers' share, so this discussion might be null anyways.
  4. I thnk the point is that if a clubs 'folds', or 'goes under', that should be it, start again from the bottom, whereas a CVA, although not pretty, is a legal last resort business move to save a company. I've changed my mind a few times on this whole thing. But I've came to the conclusion that this is indeed a once in a lifetime oppurtunity to fuck this whole old firm centric system. Motherwell have been giving it large with the 'join the revolution' patter, it's interesting how it now coincides with the oppurtunity for the 'wee teams' to kick the big two in the baws and make a genuine change to the scottish game. I just don't think we could live it down if in a years time we're back to the same old old firm dominated league. Imagine sitting getting pumped 5-0 at fir park while the hvns belt out a 'party tune', knowing fine well we passed up the oppurtunity to usher in a new era in our game. There's a sort of analogy with scottish independence I think. We can trundle along with what we know, to scared of risk, or we can grab the bull by the horns and try and stand on our own two feet. It might well fail, but at least we can say we gave it a shot.
  5. NewRangers won't be able to vote thereselves into the league. Also, ross county surely won't be reliant on the rangers cash.
  6. The only thing I'm surprised at is that people are surprised that McCall said this. He's a Rangers fan, he stated his opinion. Probably shouldn't have though.
  7. Fair enough but even in our Europa league play off the seats left were still in the thousands I believe. I imagine well society members will be given ticket priority too.
  8. When did Fir Park last actually sell out? Anyone wanting a ticket will get one
  9. I like to think theyre taking into account a rangerless league, and therefore keepin a tight budget. Just incase.
  10. although a pretty neutral statemetent, it gives me a bit of confidence that they Will actualy listen to the fans on this.
  11. Where does that come from? If it's lean years for us, it'll be similar for the rest of the SPL. I do wonder in what way we're budgetting, if we're considering the possibility of no rangers?
  12. Although I'm disappointed at first sight that there's no many western teams, if it means going to a country I'd never otherwise visit, it mibi provides an oppurtunity for a more memorable trip.
  13. I was thinking similar, kiev doesn't appeal much. Fenerbahce and pana would be some experience though. Although probably a tad more expensive than copenhagen?
  14. Games against accies are generally the worst games you can put yourself through. If it's sunny fair enough though.
  15. While I'm critical of higdon, I think he's no bad, and does a good job when he plays. However, I think we've started playing some pretty pish stuff because we're focussing on him so much. The 0-0 willl rangers was the best we've played in a while I think, definitely football wise. So i'd like to see ojamaa and murphy getting played more often upfront.
  16. Best case scenario is this drags on untill they just can't keep going and collapse. Then have a scramble to start a new club, two or three start up in division 3 and the whole brand just melts away as none can claim to be the 'true rangers'
  17. It'd be unbelievable if we won our first tie. Proper top team in the playoff and then europa groups. Just hope we can keep the team together as much as we can to give us a slight chance of an upset.
  18. Fair play then, I'm just surprised people are entertaining the options of keeping jenno and the like if they're going to walk away if we don't cut our budget to keep rangers out.
  19. Surely this discussion is a null point to those who are going to walk away if a newco get in. If rangers are out, I doubt we can offer hammell lasley or jenno reasonable deals. We should be resigned to a youth team.
  20. Thing is I don't think staying in the league is even that beneficial to Rangers. So it's not necessarily much of a threat. Plus I imagine that'd throw up a load more issues, could you trust rangers to keep their word?
  21. A good point, and that maybe makes it even more important to make your voices known if sky are as yet undecided. Surely the clubs would be in touch with sky though and be told what the potential situation is. If sky has told the clubs they will offer vastly reduced terms, then the clubs should come out and say that so the fans know what to think.
  22. I agree this is the what we should be doing. It's sky that are effectively holding the game to ransom if they threaten to reduce the deal.
