  1. Does this mean you'll have enough spare dosh to fix your Shift key?
  2. Unfortunately true. We should have been out of sight against Hibs too in the first half. We've been lacking an edge in front of goals.
  3. I'm all for inspirational speeches, but playing against the Springboks pack is a wee bit more daunting than passing a ball about with some Danes. At this stage, the players should be so wound up and, hopefully well prepared, that I'd just be inclined to give them a quick "go out there an play your game" and let them get on with it.
  4. I'm looking forward to it, but not nearly as nervous as I was when I was climbing up the steps at Hampden in 1991.
  5. Didn't St. Mirren manage that against Hammerby? They drew 3 - 3 away from home and went 1 - 0 in the return leg. With about 3 minutes remaining, they managed to concede 2 goals (and have a 3rd disallowed) and lose the tie 5 - 4.
  6. I think it's the latter part of that paragraph that should be of more concern (assuming it's accurate).
  7. I know what you mean. I'm not sure whether I'd prefer us to score early, in which case Odense would have to open up a bit in the knowledge they needed another goal, or to keep at 0 - 0 and grab a goal in the last 5 minutes - by which time we'd all be basket cases.
  8. Immediate problems, perhaps. Remember though that we only have Blackman on a 6 month loan and Casagolda on a 1 year deal. If we could secure a player like Gow on a 2 or 3 year deal it would give us longer term stability.
  9. As was said in the "Ins & Outs" thread, he could be a creative midfield option. The way it is reported in the ET makes it sound more than a rumour.
  10. Evening Times is reporting Motherwell are one of three clubs interested in Alan Gow who is holding talks with Craig Brown today.
  11. Aye, excellent result for a game in the middle of a Euro tie - especially with a squad of our size. You just need to look at the Dundee Utd (or Aston Villa) result to see how easy it is to get stuffed in a match like this.
  12. The direct YouTube link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z36VHwpuJC8...player_embedded That should work for you.
  13. Thanks, my friend. Nice find.

All the other posters knew what decorator was talking about before your helpful comment. No need to spit the dummy because you had a 'whoosh' moment.
  15. I'd love to see the economic parameters you factored in to generate your 'real terms', but regardless, I believe any friendly game involving Scotland has no value and wouldn't pay a quid to watch. I'm not attempting to justify anything (although I wouldn't be seeking your permission if I was). I'm saying that to me, a meaningful game involving the team I support is worth more than a sham of an international friendly. Moreover, a rare (for Motherwell) Euro tie that could see into the group stages is worth more to me than an SPL game against a St. Mirren or ICT. So, in comparative terms, I'd rather pay less for a more attractive game than extra for a less attractive game. In actual terms, of course I'd rather pay less, but unless the other clubs follow suit and the fans accept the negative impact of less revenue through the gates, it's not going to happen any time soon.

Is that a crossword clue you're needing help with?
  20. How do you know we didn't make him an offer? Just because a player doesn't sign for us doesn't mean we didn't try to bring them on board.
  21. Did a little research on Hans Christian Andersen. He wrote a fairy tale called The Fir Tree. From the wiki article: Spooky
  22. If you read (and understand) what I said, you will see you are wrong. Motherwell complied with *all* of their legal obligations as required by a Scottish football club that enters administration. You can argue the rules are unfair but that is for a different thread. All we are asking is that Cardiff comply with their legal (and league) obligations. If that means we get 10p in the pound, then so be it. (Oh, and I still don't see any preaching, even in this thread).
  23. First of all, I don't see anybody preaching. I seem to recall the club's official statement being sensitive to the fact that we had found ourselves in a similar situation. Secondly, Motherwell and Cardiff are both businesses. When we went into administration there were certain legal (and league) obligations we we required to fulfill. Whether you agree with them or not, we did meet them. All we are asking is Cardiff do the same.
  24. All these doom and gloomers - call yourself fans? This is Motherwell we are talking about. I expect nothing less than a spirited 2-1 victory. To be followed by a 3 - 1 defeat at Fir Park after scoring the first goal and then conceding a hat trick (fastest in Europa Cup history) with 3 minutes remaining to a guy who hasn't hit the target in 5 years.
