Or neither of these things. Maybe he'll bring in players that are quite good and we do quite well.

It's always tough for young keepers. Sitting on the bench every week with with close to zero chance of game time isn't exactly a great way to develop. Going on loan gives you that experience, but then you're not available if the first team keeper is injured. Someone like Ward has over 100 first team appearances, but presumably is OK playing second fiddle as needed. Either way, it can't be much fun being a second choice keeper anywhere.

He was my MOTM at the weekend, and I think Wimmer's approach to the game suits him much better than the formations SK tried to use him in. The question is can he do it on a consistent basis under the new gaffer.

I'm just thinking more about the players' mentality. When you're a professional sports person, it's much easier to be playing to win something (like top of our split) than playing to avoid a loss. Of course, as fans, we don't have to worry about that so can also hope other teams do us a favour.

Nice article on Miller in The Herald. (You can read it in an Incognito Window in Chrome, or Private Window in Firefox). Despite the fake outrage from some media outlets, it's obvious his senior team mates knew the score and what it's like to be stitched up if you misspeak. Although it didn't prevent them dishing out the appropriate level of stick. Also interesting to read about how interested he was in McTominay and Glimour playing overseas.

The best help we can get is taking care of our own business. Worrying about the other results is an approach that will get you into trouble. Let them worry about ours.

If we win, I don't care what any other teams are doing. It's just another step closer to 7th spot.
-
And we know it will go to one of the OF nominees.

It's amazing how the mood of a game can create that kind of chaos. And if Forbes hadn't missed the pen, we would never have had the pleasure of that finish.
-
Fingers crossed for a bidding war.

Watt seems to fit Wimmer's style pretty well. Whether he can be arsed to play like that every week, however, is the question.

Sometimes I think I must be looking at the wrong league table, because my copy has us sitting in 7th with Ross County having to score 8 points more than us to overtake. I know it's been a poor season, but the league table doesn't lie, and we are at the very least, equal best of a bad bunch.
-
But still more than our other centre forwards this season.

Mmmmmmm. Chips.

Voting starts today for the two available places on the Board. Make your voice heard, as they say.

Stop Simon Murray scoring and we have a chance. They have shipped even more goals than us (or anyone else) this season, so we need to keep the pressure on their defence.
-
I wouldn't single just Casey out for the first goal, but it's about the 283rd time he's been caught out of position and lacks the speed to recover. Thompson at least made it back in time to attempt a tackle while Casey was arriving just in time to see the shot hit the back of the net.

Turnbull officially relegated yesterday. Wonder if he has an escape clause in his contract.

Pricing is always a problem, but seeing as it plays such a key part of income, we would need to find other revenue streams to offset it. Or, of course, spend less on player salaries with all that entails. It's likely everything else is going to jump in price this year too, so I totally understand people picking and choosing their games.

I have no fear about finishing 11th. Much more interested in securing 7th place.
-
I'm not saying he's great. I'm saying our defence has been terrible for at least 3 seasons and even if today's keeper let a dozen soft goals this season that would a minor contribution to the overall honkingness of that car crash that is our central defence.
-
I'd be amazed if 42 points isn't enough to stay above 11th. 2023/24 11th team (and 10th) had 35 2022/23 11th had 34 and 10th had 40 2021/22 11th had 35 and 10th had 42 2020/21 11th had 36 and 10th had 39 2019/20 Covid year so skipped it 2018/19 11th had 32 and 10th had 33 I won't go back any further, but it would be an unusual table this year if 42 is anything less than 10th.

Most of that is down to our terrible defenders. I'll give them more of a pass today due to lack of available personnel, but our defence has been honking for a few seasons now.
