I like the idea someone posted earlier about writing to Stephen Thompson. If it was me, I'd keep it nice and civil, telling him how much the fans have enjoyed out visits over the years. Then give him the details of the arrangements that were made with the club for banners, flags etc. Then express disappointment about how after all the organisation was in place, how you were treated and ended up not entering the ground. Finally point out how, in the current climate, alienating supporters and missing out on the gate money etc. is not a great idea. Thompson seems like a solid footballing man and a smart business man, so he might well take the reasoned criticism on board. I'm sure someone from the group has already thought of this, so feel free to ignore

I think the team is set up to play better away from home, but not because of the abuse levels. It's more to do with the fact that our personnel is more suited to counter-attacking football. When we have to press against a stuffy defence (as we often do at home), we aren't as effective.

I'm all for freshening up the team, but it's easy to forget that there is a huge difference between coming on for the last 15 mins of a game, and starting it.

There were plenty of posters on here moaning about Porter and Jutkiewicz after their first couple of months' performances. Porter, in particular, was taking stick for being slow and Jutkiewicz for his lack of touch. Sutton took plenty of stick throughout is 'Well career too. If Wullie P was in his prime playing for us now, I swear the same eejits would be booing him for not contesting the long balls through the air.

And while many of the top players are undoubtedly great athletes, their athleticism is a complement to their ball skils, not a replacement. We both know that if any Motherwell defender breathes on guys like Lafferty the wrong way, Rangers are getting a free kick or penalty. I'm with Orinoco on this. We need to be focusing on skill and technique. It's much easier and more productive to bulk up a talented kid, than take a clogger and teach him ball skills. Look at how well Rangers fared against mediocre European opposition this year to see how well their approach works.

It was a close call, but when Smith's went in, I felt the comeback was on (not that we deserved to be 2 down at that stage). I wasn't sorry to see the square goalposts get replaced at Hampden after that penalty shoot-out!

As usual, you are adopting contrary positions for arguments sake. One minute you are saying Higdon is useless. The next you are saying he scored 17 goals last season, but it didn't help the team. If useless players score 17 a season, I'll take useless thanks.

Little consolation, I know, but losing to another SPL side isn't nearly as bad as Rangers, Hearts and Aberdeen all getting papped out by lower league teams.
