Seems the express and the daily mail are using very similar stories these days, sometimes even the same sentances.

Lazy, generate a story journalism as we have all come to expect.

  2. Not for a lot of people it isn't, in fact i'd say the vast majority can be arsed with that.I like games with a good atmosphere and when i went to the east i'd join in but i'm not gonnae stand up and start singing myself in the middle of the pod and i'm sure that's how most away from the 'singing' section feel.

So you like a good atmosphere but you dont really want to contribute to it. I wasn't suggesting people standing up singing on their tod but if a small group of people in other areas of the stadium can start chants i'm sure others would follow. I sit in the section just beside the so called 'singing section' and join in with a lot of their chants so if you're up for creating an atmosphere and dont want to be on your own in whatever section, why not sit nearer the well boys and help increase the overall volume inside Fir Park.

  3. I think the numbers in the end section at the moment are just enough to create a decent atmosphere especially with their drums. Splitting them up will not work as a) they will want to be together and b) why should all the responsibility for creating an atmosphere be with the guys who are actually making the effort.

Like it or not the people in the rest of the east, the copper and POD need to take some responsibility onto themselfs if they really want a great atmosphere at FP. People shouldn't need to be treated like sheep, the well boys have done their part, now for others to do theirs.

At the end of the day I would say the oversall experience of a day at the football is enhanced if everybody joins in a sing song.

  4. Cheers!

I look forward to the next home game when you come up and tell us that we're arseholes

Oh, and of course the Gilette shout was nothing to do with Inverness player Kenny Gillet

    @ Kris*Kaizer 2*Nunn

Do you never think that when you have your photo as your avatar and you abuse people directly that it might just go against you?

Looks like your gonna have a very enjoyable season in front of they "arseholes"

  5. Think it would be agreat idea to swap ends of the East Stand as it would be right next to the Cooper and they can join in with the chants.

As mentioned before we do like a sing song and the songs/chants are more likely to catch on and potentially a lot more voices heard :)

Also want chants to be heard by the away support (when there is enough of them to justify opening the stand). Any more drums, trumpets, whatever also great for adding a more continental feel. B-)

  6. So the home kit is released on the 28th of July but before I go out and buy it I would like to see the away kit as I may prefer that. When the home strip was shown to us on the 28th of June we were told that the away kit would be launched in the next few weeks yet we are still waiting.....

  7. Id love to see another version of the black away top with the white band and claret and amber lining on the collar and sleeves. The old one sponsored by motorola made by pony was one of my all time favourite motherwell tops.

  8. why would you expect that when it's already been announced it'll be an early august release.

If you read back, the home strip was launched on the 28th of June and at that time the statement read: -

"The new PUMA 2011/2012 away kit will be showcased in the next few weeks with an early August release."

  9. I'd rather bring in a striker than a defender. That is BEFORE Murphy leaves us (if that even happens). I think we are ok at the back. Maybe need a wee bit of cover on the left (Probably why McCall is keen on the return of Gunning) but we do have Page and I wouldn't be surprised if Law could slot in at the back in an emergency. Wouldn't be ideal by any stretch but things are the way they are.

Another stroker please, another two if Jamie heads (preferably) down South.

Getting players of quality that are affordable and are willing to come to the SPL is a lot easier to type on here than in reality. This we all sadly know. I still think though come the close of the window (a good 5-6 weeks away) we will be sorted up front, with or without young Jamie in Claret and Amber.

I agree with what you are saying aside from the addition of another stroker, this isn't HMFC.

  10. Fair play to him and all that, but personally I still don't really like it when players "decide" to retire from international football. As long as you're good enough or fit enough, you should be picked and expected to play to the best of your ability. When the manager considers that you're no longer good enough or fit enough, you don't get picked any more, and so ends your international career.

If you don't like that arrangement, then don't become a professional footballer... plenty other folk would like to have your job instead :)

    I disagree.

Footballers like other professional sportsmen chose to retire when they are still playing at a high level and therefor are remembered for playing at that level, why keep on playing and tarnish the reputation that you have earned over the previous years?

Also, retiring from international football could be seen as a way of trying to maximise what remains of a club career or simply a choice to spend more time with family.

Well done Stephen, a respectable player and person for both Motherwell and Northern Ireland.

  11. Hopefully Humphrey and Law won't need to do much tracking back with Lasley and Jenno mopping up behind them!

Have to say though that Law lost the ball early on in the first half against Dumbarton around the halfway line and chased back and won back possession in the corner beside our byline.

  12. From the sounds of it Nicky Law has the skills and we have been crying out for a left sided player for a long time now.

    Potential team:

    RANDY

    SAUNDERS - HUTCHINSON - CRAIGAN - HAMMELL

    HUMPH - LASLEY - JENNINGS - LAW

    HIGDON - MURPHY

Thats a decent team. We have options in midfield in Forbes and Hateley. We also have Devlin who can slot in at right back.

For me we just need another striker as I would like more than just McHugh as backup. Especially as there is a chance we may lose Murphy

Apart from that I have total confidence in the kids we are bringing through and would be happy for them all to get their fair share of game time this season. The signs are positive that this is McCall's plan too.

Law is a right sided player but looked more than happy playing on the left.

I was speaking to a Dumbarton fan on Saturday who is convinced that Devlin will be a regular starter for us within 6 months. Its always good to have competition so maybe Saunders could focus on his natural position of centre half although this seems to write off Hateley who I think on his day (at right back) can be a great asset to the team, especially with his set pieces.

I think a few youngsters will take things up a level this season and start to make their mark.

All boads well at the moment.

  13. Must be said, Forbes had a decent game on Saturday.

I agree Forbes looked ok on saturday, played some decent passes and even put in his fair share of tackles. The way the team was set up in the first half was like a 4-3-3 / 4-3-2-1 and i would expect that with a fully fit squad Forbes would be replaced by Jennings.

Anyway here's hoping Nicky Law can push on and have a great season, first signs looked promising.

  14. I was impressed by Law on Saturday but as said it was low level opposition. I'm not too bothered about how many goals he scores if he's readily setting up others.

  15. I believe our plans are the 12.16 from Motherwell, change at Partick and get to Dumbarton about half 1.

The stop at Partick is only 5 mins which is a tad disappointing as I'd hoped for a pint in the Three Judges. But for £6.70 return I'll dry my eyes!

Anyone know what station - East or Central - is better to get off at or are they pretty close?

Best to get off at Dumbarton East. You dont need to get the next train when you get off at Partick, they are roughly every 15 mins so time for a pint or 2 in the west end if required.
