  1. Scott Burns in the Express today suggesting that Bolton & QPR are both looking at Murphy. Several Championship clubs also interested but he would prefer EPL.

Interesting given Coyle's knowledge of the SPL and Warnock's links with SMC. However given that QPR owners don't appear to want to back Warnock on any transfers is this just 2+2=5 to fill a gap?

May not be true but still worrying. Think Murphy would benefit from at least another season at Fir Park.

  2. I really like the look of that team Jimmo.

Except for the inexperienced central defense that is. Our midfield and forwards in that team would cuase problems for 90% of the league. Potential also to swap Murphy with Law and mix it up a bit going to a 4-4-2 etc.

    Good times.

I agree with your comments, I just think Craigan may be more of a bit part player this season as we build for the future, I fully expect this to be his last season at Motherwell. I think playing that team allows Murphy a bit of a free role where he can play attacking left mid, switch with law to centre attacking mid or jump up front beside higgy. Just hope Jenno signs that contract ASAP.

  3. jenno has signed on for another year .FACT

Hope your right, I'm getting more worried the more time goes on.

At the moment my team for next season would be: -

    ----------------------Randolph-------------------------

    Hateley-------Saunders---Hutch-------Hammell

    -----------------Lasley----------Jenno------------------

    Humphrey------------Law

    ------------------------Higdon-----------------------------

  4. I hated Novo in his Rangers days, mostly because he was Rangers through and through and never hid his passion for the club. If he came to Fir Park, banged in some goals and showed the same level of passion for Motherwell and the fans, I'm sure my opinion of him would quickly change.

  5. now as much as we love our C&A colours, what harm would it do to change them? well, I know a number of motherwell fans off hand that dont buy home shirts because they dont like the colours. I have never seen a non motherwell fan wearing a motherwell top. i mean most of us pick out tops from other leugues by colour of design, so to change to apeal to a bigger market would only do good for the club right?

Don't imagine you've seen many non club supporters wearing any SPL tops outside of the Old Firm??

This is a stupid topic, just jump upto Airdrie, there's an entirley different club for you to support there.

  6. Any update on when we're going to see the away strip?

    From the offical site: -

"The new PUMA 2011/2012 away kit will be showcased in the next few weeks with an early August release."

  7. Add to that that the Taylor deal looks like it fell through at the last possible moment, we're doing alright.

Dunno whether this Zaine boy was the next on the list from Taylor, but either way, moving quickly.

Excuse my ignorance, what is this referring to?

  8. Really like the new top although agree it may have been better with white or claret shorts. This does make me question the reason behind the anniversary shirt. Will wait and see the away but at the moment id happily purchase the new home top.

  9. I agree, its fucking ridiculous. Every year, its either a new strip or new sponsor - beyond a joke.

Saves my Auntie having to deliberate about what to get me for my birthday every year.

  10. 36 years old and has scored 18 goals in his last 54 games in Australia, is this really what we want at Motherwell? I like the chat about this but if it was to actually happen I wouldn't be best pleased, would much rather have Porter.

  11. SteelmaninOZ's talk of 70's Admiral in the football kit thread got me thinking about how they might approach designing a present day Motherwell top. With Admiral now back in business they will probably be looking to get a small slice of todays football kit market. It's too late for them to get back to their 70's heyday but with some careful marketing they could tap into the publics never ending craving for all things retro.

If this was a proper 70's Admiral top they would have almost certainly have removed the claret hoop!

I'd like to see something along these lines with a claret hoop on the home, love the black away with thin amber stripes!!

  12.

He is trying to get Gunning back on loan but this is another stumbling block as it'll be late in the window before he'll know about loanees as the English teams won't decide on their squads until then.

He is interested in Hughes and Porter has been put to him to but admits even those deals would depend on finances as they're both on much more than we can afford.

    ------------------------Randolph----------------------

    Hateley------Hutch---------Gunning---Hammel

    -------------------Lasley------Jennings-------------

    Humphrey----------Hughes---------------Murphy

    --------------------------Porter--------------------------

Subs: Hollis, Craigan, Saunders, Page, Carswell, Forbes, Higdon, McHugh etc.

If McCall put something like that team together i would probably end up drowning myself :wank: :wank: :wank:

  13. He lacks a prolonged run in the team and maybe being dropped after he plays a really good game might help as well. Forbes had a couple of good games last season but found himself dropped for the next. Other players were afforded more patience.

    I agree with that.

I think forbes is a very talented player especially at set pieces and delivery. Can be very frustrating to watch as he is painfully slow and sometimes seems like he doesn't want to play. I still think with the right coaching he could turn into a key player for us as long as he is played in his favoured position.

  14. Cautiously optimistic about this. Certainly needed a replacement for sutton and he fits the bill though I think sutton was a bit more mobile so I'm not convinced its a definite improvement. But I'd rather have him than not.

I think we still need a more attacking central mid, a space creating forward and ideally a left winger and an experienced centre half with a bit more legs than craigan to be ready.

    Right then......

  15. I agree we will be covered at right back between Hately n Saunders and now also young Devlin. Think we need a left winger (possibly the jamican guy released by Bradford), a centre half, a centre midfielder (possibly Hughes) and 2 or 3 strikers (with Higdon possibly being one) if all players that have been offered contracts accept them and we don't loose anybody else (which I doubt).
