  1. Only embarrassment I see in all this is Police Scotland 'sledgehammer to crack a nut' tactics and the number of our own fans ready to turn on the Bois at the first opportunity. That's embarrassing. Sure the lads will remember the backing they were given in all this, thankfully only a small minority are negative as most fans are generally appreciative of the massive improvements made to the enjoyment of following Motherwell. It cannot be overstated what a difference they've made and small matters like smoke bombs don't take away from that, no matter how much the authorities try to dress it up as 'major' it really is fuck all in the bigger scheme of things. And certainly doesn't warrant treatment like that shown on Saturday, that is nothing more than an abuse of power.

Always is, just a few months til the next one
  3. I wouldn't worry too much what tadgers like that say
  4. OH you can complain when such selective action is taken. Unlawfully detaining a group of 14-15 yr olds, threatening to arrest other family members merely looking out for their family, OTT policing is not justified in any way here. The smoke bomb was at the start of it, the detention inside the ground had nothing to do with that other than our big brave polis flexing their muscles. "Public safety" was not compromised in any way but was quoted as a reason for their detention. Lies, outright lies.
  5. Selective policing as always, shower of bullying bastards creating more problems than the supposed culprits. Explain this one Fat Controller What threat? The stand isn't going to burn down from a smoke bomb, it's a minor inconvenience for folk in the immediate area but threat? Usual talking bollocks, and holding the lads back at the end for "Public Safety" reasons? More lies and shite from the supposed guardians of the law. Picking on the youngest element to prove a point is bullying and causes more resentment, leading to potential real unrest. Caused by those meant to be keeping order. They need questions asked of their role at football as it seems they actually want to provoke disorder to give them something to do.

Not the question, stop deflecting, a simple aye or naw would suffice

So it's confirmed then, Gannon's tenure wisnae actually as bad as you all make out?
  8. We don't need new safe standing laws, we already have safe standing up the Deep End due to sensible stewarding and a willingness to listen on the part of the club. Converting any part of the stadium is an unnecessary cost in light of this.

He was right to blame refs though, said in public what we all thought

There are many factors to his demise but onfield I wasn't worried at all, we've had worse blips. I don't need to 'revise' much, his record is nowhere near as bad as the other 'revisionists' out there, stats and lies and all that shite. His off-field aspects pretty much sealed his fate, results didn't but have been moulded to suit arguments that's what I'm getting at Andy. I seem to recall something like 2 defeats until Dec, then a horrible run but getting beat aff Hibs, Celtic & Rangers is not that surprising is it? Pretty sure Granpa Broon went through a similar run without much comment. Went and checked, yer old stats n shit can show 2 defeats in 13 games prior to Dec, that's no' too bad is it? Back to the original point, it had fuck all to do with onfield issues, or at least shouldn't have. And am pretty certain if Magoo had stayed on we'd have gone doon the fuckin' pan with the rebuilding job required.

One bad month onfield equates to failing to move on does it? For all the Gannon haters can't see why some still defend him, he came in done a very good job job many others would probably have been incapable of and had us playing pretty decent stuff. A few bad results close together against teams we usually struggled against at that time does not equal a failure. Off-field stuff gives his critics plenty ammunition but we didn't have time to find out if he had a plan B. McGhee's failure of anything beyond plan A proved his downfall, Gannon might have been the same, we'll never know. Tell you what though, I'd wager heavily that we wouldn't have enjoyed anything like our recent success without his input at a crucial time.

And as already stated he was the right man to rebuild it, McGhee shat himself to rebuild it, still waiting on that German centre half btw, and Broon would never have managed it either so at least give the guy the credit he's due and move on

  14. That's probably more like it, wee slight difference in the sentence structure makes more sense Anyways, couple of belting interviews with two real club legends, had the pleasure of talking to both gentlemen at length and they certainly didn't dissolve any illusions this star struck fan had of them. :notworthy:
  15. Or was that you getting me back for a no' very good bad taste joke? Hmmmmm Had me going right enough, was questioning my memory for a bit.
  16. I'm gutted my wee joke wi' weeyin was deemed inappropriate and deleted. That you Bucs?

  20. When I first read this I thought you said the Accies chairman was on the phone, well played anyway.
  21. I think Canterbury were the last ones to offer the team a different quality jersey. I've collected match worn tops for years and the quality of them has gone steadily downhill to the extent the players just wear replicas these days. Makes collecting them a waste of time as so many folk get all the badges, names and numbers done then try to pass them off as the real thing. With the better quality previously you could tell a player issue jersey a mile away, no difference now sadly.
  22. Took ye long enough DO you no' pay attention when they swop ends at half time?
  23. All that and adding a bit of pace on the wings gives a fairly well balanced squad with options eh no?
  24. What about the mish mash of Claret sleeves and side panel?
