  1. I reckon the amber makes it even worse if that could be so. I remember the white shorts of the Xara kit being replaced by claret ones fairly wuickly as well. Guess our kit man disnae like white shorts. Pity cos the shorts and socks are the only good thing about this kit.
  2. Montrose or Dumbarton away are the only ones that would get me off my seat tbh
  3. But you still get a Saturday night out with a normal kick off, and plenty time to get changed and huv yir denner afore ye go
  4. Not quite, he was called offside, everybody else on the pitch stopped including our goalie then he ripped in a volley and should have been booked for kicking the ball away considering how long after the whistle went he made contact. Only Wattie Tankigan and Boyd himself think it was called offside after he scored, everyone else knows the truth
  5. Did I not see McGeouch playing for someone on the Football League Show last weekend?
  6. Athens wis a 10pm kick off, bit shite trying to get back to the city centre after that, prefer a more sensible time
  7. Have we got any Saturday games left at all? the proper 3pm yins I mean. Getting all confused now
  8. Thank fuck someone brought a bit of sanity back to the thread there
  9. Oh it's broke all right, I reckon continually messing about with kick off times won't change it for the better though.
  10. Be honest, for Champions League read big TV Audience league, top and bottom of the argument there. Scotland doesn't have the audience that those big countries can attract therefore we aren't welcome, UEFA have gone out of their way to facilitiate those countries that can attract the large audience as it makes more money for them and everyone involved and it won't change until the audience switch off. It's why the whole format came into being after all, one big team got knocked out early and complained, threatening to take all the big clubs into a breakaway competition, UEFA shat a brick and worked out this 'compromise.' UEFA are still scared of that threat so they won't change a thing until their hand is forced again. As for scunnered...I'm still scunnered by Dortmund's cheating at Fir Park cos we gave them that much of a fright over there.
  11. Re summer fitba' the wummin have changed over already. Their pre-season is January which is a bit of a bugger I'd imagine, games start in Feb so still scope for call-offs due to weather, they take a break in July so no changes there and finish in November with scope for call offs due to weather affecting the final games. (First season Oor Amber final game just didn't get played) Not all sweetness and light, still problems but for me Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb are becoming a fucking nightmare to organise the boys fitba', looking back to Well Trust days these same months were pretty much a write off for the most part. If the professional game doesn't change the grass roots certainly has to, there aren't enough parks to accommodate everyone trying to fit in games in May cos there's such a backlog built up. We have a natural winter break for the youths cos the pitches aren't up to anything more than an extremely mild winter so for me it's a no brainer to make it official. We don't play any more than 4 games in those 4 months on average, fucking waste of time organising everything knowing full well you have to go through the whole process in reverse when the game is called off. From there it would only be a matter of time before the professionals follow suit.
  12. When the h**s come back they should plan the first Old Firm game that weekend so other clubs are saved the hassle
  13. Nothing wrong with the gafffers policy, Hollis would have a grievance if he didn't do it this way IMO. Gunnar will get his chance and then needs to take it. Til then I'm certainly not hoping for Lee to fuck up just so that can happen.
  14. Pundits are talking them up cos they're basically lazy bastards who haven't the brains to make a judgement which may require some perusal of facts. "Oh they've got big crowds, therefore more money, they must be a good bet." Easy option. Based on their record of spending that extra money, I'd say bottom 6 was more likely, big surprise if they manage better.
  15. They might even win a cup to go with the inevitable league title
  16. Cheers guys, hopefully he gets the message or sees this.
  17. Is he still in Russia? Contactable?
  18. I've already stated one reason for Sat 3pm kick offs, I don't see much more of an argument for stupid O'clock kick-offs other than just to get it up the traditionalists. Folk and families do other things Sat mornings, Sat nights, Sundays, all could be changed but don't have to. Changing times will not attract more fans I'm sure of that, in fact it would probably go the opposite way. Anyways no-one wants to listen to reasoned arguments it seems other than just being a traditionalist so I'll leave that one. Summer fitba' is one I've come round to accepting is the way forward. Never in a million years would I have thought that when I was playing, rather go out and run about to keep warm on a freezing day than be sweltered, but for watching it makes perfect sense. Going back to kids fitba', an absolute must to change, way too many games called off then a mad rush in the last few weeks to get games played for end of May. Holidays are spread round the year these days so not so big an impact as 20 yrs ago when everyone went on holiday at The Fair here.
  19. Oh you know I'm right, you're just trolling so Fatcalf, I'll be on my way
  20. I agree about the inferiority complex but the time to do something about that was the home game, we fucked up our chances there and should now look to prioritise, Sunday is a bigger priority than tomorrow.
  21. Lack of ambition cost us already by being scared of them in the 1st leg it can be argued, why the high horse attitudes over this decision? Game was there to be won in the home game, we failed miserably again. League points over Aberdeen could be vital in the longer term given everyone reckons they're going to be a force this season. Better to put their gas at a peep early on and quell their early season optimism before they get some momentum. TBH I couldn't give 2 fucks about Europe, it's merely a chance for a fitba' holiday, had 2 good trips at Donny & Morecambe already so not fussed in the slightest if we remain in a thoroughly loaded competition with all the odds against teams like ours.
  22. Pundits always tip them to do well cos they're the easy option, next biggest club, more signings than most, biggest failures in recent years in comparative terms than the rest of the league put together. Always capable of giving us a game mind you and one of these days they will live up to their potential, but by fuck they've paid through the nose for that day when it eventually comes.
  23. Keep it up, you will maybe actually believe there's a chance come Thursday lads
  24. So 12 noon kick off then? Hmmm, right away you alienate all those families who have sons or daughters playing football on Saturday mornings, you can't go upsetting the entire youth system just to prove your point as it then becomes more of a tug of war trying to get fans in, many of whom already have their Saturday planned out, fitba' wi kids in the morning, fitba' at Fir Park afternoon. Just one example but one which potentially loses hundreds of fans, and/or loses hundreds from youth football. Clever thinking. Only higher standard amateur and Junior football is played to coincide with pro games in the afternoon and they're not going to turn up to replace the ones you've just lost cos they're more interested in their own careers. Plenty more examples to come I'm sure but that one is enough for me.
