  1. the problem with that though is, other than someone thats already a fan of the club, who in their right mind is going to plough their money into a club that they dont even own when they can just go buy up a club, own it, and do the same thing?
  2. I mean thats basically exactly what I said in the post above the one you replied to. But my point is that there are new fans out there that can be marketed to. The question is the only of reaching out to them via A list celebs? or is there a way of reaching them that hasnt been tapped into yet? Rather than trying to win the lottery like Wrexham we should be looking to find a way of replicating the outcome they have had in the rise of their fan base without having to follow the same route. We suffer the same problem they had in that we have more fans of the old firm clubs and of clubs from down south around us than we do Motherwell fans, can we convert them the same way Wrexham has? Can we find a way to appeal to those that currently dont have an interest in football at all?
  3. On that side of things it is quite amazing what the right kind of marketing can do. If you look a the growth of Wrexhams fan base it shows you it can be done, albeit its taken for a couple of A listers and a disney doc to do it. You can be sure Wrexham fans before teh take over thought the same way we do in terms of fan base and club size but whats happened to them proves that there are fans out there that can be marketed to, you just need the right way of connecting with them.
  4. The problem we run into, as the Wrexham investors said themselves, is that the ceiling you face with Scottish football makes putting money into any club up here a lot less worth it. Add into that in our particular circumstance, that you wouldn't even own the club after whacking in cash, makes it seriously un appealing. The club need to make their mind up, do they want a sugar daddy or do they want to be fan owned? Because I cant see a way of having both.
  5. Huge fucking swing and a miss for me. If this is the big marketing campaign they have been talking about then it seems way out of touch, low budget and all in a bit of a rid neck.
  6. Even if we paid them to take him we got a good deal.
  7. Forgot he was playing. Paton has been rotten all season and Slattery has somehow decided he no longer knows how to pass.
  8. 31 mins of them shredding us down the wings, do we do anything about it? No
  9. Need to get forward to offer something first
  10. Just wait, 2 own goals from big bev and normality will resume.
  11. He might always give 100% but I'm not convinced that there's not something men in black style wearing his skin right now.
  12. Can we just patch this one? Fucking depressing even thinking about us trying to play a game of football.
  13. If there's nobody that's got a set of balls in that board room they can hire me for the day and I'll do it.
  14. I dont think anyone's going to judge a club for sacking a manager that's not won in 15 games. If there is any judgment its going to be on why it took so long.
  15. We can only dream of mediocre at the moment.
  16. Every week we say "need a result here or he goes" then the game passes without a win and nothing changes, so aye he needs to beat Livi or else he will need to win the next game, or the next one, or the next one...
  17. What you doing? We are already depressed as fuck. Play the game son.
  18. Can we hire Jim Gannon for January then sack him in February?
  19. Honestly forgot what winning a game actually feels like at this point.
