  1. Would like to think we would take 7,000+ at least, for our first Scottish cup semi at Hampden since 1975 without facing any of the Bigot Brothers,

This is a massive game and desrves a excellent turn out :pleasantry:

Hope fully the Saints feel this same and bring a bumper crowd as well.

Hopefully we dont earn the shamefull title of the lowest ever semi final crowd at Hampden between two top flight clubs

And I agree the game should be in Edinburgh at Easter road

  2. A couple of bigot brothers at my work were trying to work out the h**s and Smeltic final fixtures after the split ,and for them both to play 19 home and away fixtures,a couple of the scenarios they came up with (As they seem certain we are in the top six in front of Caley)

Were either us playing at Ibrox for a third time or Smeltic at the Arc for a third time.

They were trying to work out various different permutations and it was all becoming at bit confusing.

But if the top 6 fixtures go playing the same side home and away twice

they reckon we should be home against,Killie,h**s,Tarts and away Smeltic and Arabs

giving us 20 home and 18 away fixtures.

Going with the same formula for all the other teams that would be the same for Smeltic and Arabs, and with the h**s,Killie,Tarts playing 18 home and 20 away.

We then gave up........to may options trying to get 19/19 split

Any stattos out there could clear this up

Im sure last year we were the only one to lose out on the 19/19 split with the two additional away games :dash2:

  3. The layout for our game is shambolic - nothing more to be said on that, totally draining any atmosphere from the game

The reason for this I believe is that in the other semi final - Aberdeen and Celtic could easily see a 30-40k+ crowd - now if the tickets for their game are priced at :

    SOUTH STAND – SECTION O: £25

    SOUTH STAND – SECTIONS P1 AND P2: £22

    NORTH STAND – SECTIONS C4 AND C5: £22

    WEST STAND – SECTIONS B4 AND B5: £18

    WEST STAND – SECTIONS B6 TO B8 (FAMILY): £15 / 5

Then, so no one complains - our game has to be offered the same. Difference is - both those teams have the fan base, whereas us and St. J do not

Best thing to do, would be just not hold it at Hampden

Anyway - it is what it is and we cant change it.

I'm going to put my neck on the line here and wait to be slaughtered..................

This singing section is that - a singing section - and most of the people who are going to want to purchase a ticket in this section are those who are normally at the south side of the east stand. If you dont already know, most people in this section like to STAND at the games. If you are thinking of buying a ticket for this section, do us all a favour and leave the "gonna sit down, ah canny see" at home

tin hat on - but our supporters seem to have lost the use of their legs for 90mins - most other fans like to stand, look at United the other night. And whether you like it or not standing generates more of an atmosphere than sitting

Weesacs the point I was making was for me to take my son to the area where "all the singing is" would double my expense.

Having attended football matches since 1970, I seem to remember the novelty of standing up during games..........and totally agree it generates more atmosphere, and it would have been nice if he (9 year old) could experience the big match atmosphere/singing/smoke bombs/etc etc etc. But as you say the layout is shambolic.

But I dont think you and the rest of the boys from the south side of the east stand will have anything to worry about, will you lot not try and recreate the view you get at FP and will be standing right down at the front with a shit view :whistling:

Best thing would have been Easter Road. two stands each and a day oot in Auld Reekie !

But enjoy your day out,I know I will

  4. Prices are pretty standard no? £22 is an entry to the away end at New Douglas Park, and this is the semi final of Scotland's biggest cup competition and you can get a ticket cheaper than £22.

It's not the prices that are the issue (well OK it'd be great if everyone lowered prices like the QF), it's the layout. Truly bizarre and counter intuitive.

Agree bizarre........no concessions for kids other than the family section,so if you want to sit in the siging section with a child it will cost £44 :wallbash: South £44/50 :dash2:

Why not make C1-3 in the North stand the family area and keep all the fans together then start to use B6-8 as the over spill if we sell that out.

There are some right :wank: at the SFA

    SOUTH STAND – SECTION O: £25 SOUTH STAND – SECTIONS P1 AND P2: £22 NORTH STAND – SECTIONS C4 AND C5: £22 WEST STAND – SECTIONS B4 AND B5: £18 WEST STAND – SECTIONS B6 TO B8 (FAMILY): £15 / 5

  5. Superb performance, was fearing the worst going into last night but was delighted with the way we played. Every single player put in a shift for us which makes a huge difference. If we can play like that against St Johnstone in the semi final then we should be winning comfortably but you just can't predict what Motherwell will turn up these days. Hopefully the players will still be buzzing going into Saturday and destroy that Auld prick Broon. Mon the Well!!!

    + 1

credit to Arabs who attended in massive numbers

  6. The next two home games are massive for the club to try and secure a top 6 finnish.

The financial benefit of one of the Bigot bros coming to the 'Arc chasing the league title could secure a few players contracts etc etc, rather than 100 odd Accies fans

Would like to think we will beat the sheep......but two game against the Arabs who are flyin might be a bridge too far the way we are playing just now.

  7. Was living down south at the time, and came up the Friday and went to Sparks then Zanzibar on the Friday night.

Remember vaguely lots of guys from Leeds and Doncaster being up for the game

Day off the game Burns tavern for opening time......stayed there till about one, then headed up to get the train.

When we got to the station there was a massive Q,with BTP dogs going mental etc etc, so we just walked down the hill at the side of the station, got a train to Newton, then on to Mount Florida and had a few in "Boons Yard".

As usaul we just had to have one too many, and missed the K.O.:wallbash:

The first thing I saw was Hamish French putting the ball in the net :dash2: which thankfully got chopped off.

Have never been so nervous at a match, and my abiding memory of thegame at the equaliser 3-3 was Alan Main diving on his belly across the Hampden turf.

    :wank:

Train & carryoot back to McDonalds for scran then down to Burns tavern and drank copious amounts of "Schlitz" lager .

    :drinks:

Then at some point ended in the Chinese takeaway opposite the Woodcutter, where a

guy 6ft plus, stole my bar scarf (Xmas present 1973) from my brother in law 5ft 0" which ended up in me and him rolling about the floor, and Strathclydes finest saving the day as I was getting a bit of a kicking

My regret was not going to Fir Park that night and missing the parade the next day,by the time I got there it was all over.

    :dash2:

    Well theres always this year............:whistling:

  8. +1

The bottom line it should have been a foul against Gunning in the build up,some of our players didnt play to the whistle and Badwillie got a little bit of space which he took advantage of.....

IMHO thought it was dangerous play and had big Hutch "made a meal of it" holding his face etc etc think the goal would have been chopped off.

What do you think the decision would have been if Big Hutch had cleared the ball with a overhead kick at that hieght ????? :whistling:

Jesus Imagine the furore if a goal like that is scored in the cup final on Sunday...

  9. This is our ticket into Europe, I'm nervous about the 29th already....

Craggs is playing for Northern Ireland in Belfast on the 29th.March .............cant see up playing the game that night :excl:

  10. Did anyone else from the board attend this?

I did, and thought it was an excellent day out. The place was pretty full and there was a good atmosphere.

The free pies went down a treat as well.

    A great atmosphere,great game

    £2.70 for a pint of Kronenbourg.. .

    ......and free pies...:woop:

...shame the strippers never turned up !!!!!!:whistling:

  11. How did it go up at Firpark today, was there many there.

Good turnout.........Magic 70 odd seconds when Big John netted the second :drinks:

    (Missed the first :wallbash: )

Numbers thining when i left 20 minsago just before the team bus arrived !!!!!

Cracking day to rival the match experience :pleasantry:

  12. I honesly cant put into words how i felt in 1991 amazing it was and how priveliged i felt to be there something i dont think i'll ever forget. I've always hoped and prayed that now that im 47 years old i'll see my team lift the cup again before i kick it. Who knows?? What i do know is this current bunch of spineless woossies whose been COMFORTABLY GUBBED by A CRAP ST MIRREN AND CALEY THISTLE. Wont get within 3 goals of Dundee Utd on sunday. dry.gif

As a fellow 47'er............. who was at Hampden 91 etc etc etc......it was the same spineless woossies who pumped Smeltic and gave the h**s a run for there money at Hampden in the last couple of weeks ..............KEEP THE FAITH

Ps after the 0-0 draw with Smeltic in 91,did u think we would win the replay ?? ;)

  13. i think it's down to us versus caley now. we have to match their points total from the 4 next matches.

    we have

    killie (a), aberdeen (h) united (h) hearts (a)

    they have

    united (a) celtic (h) killie (a) hearts (h)

Agree a couple of wins we will be there.........but knowing us we will beat Killie lose the two home games, then squander a 3 goal lead at Swinecastle for Casagolda to score with with a mist hit shot in the 97th minute :yahoo:

  14. Apologies if this link has been posted previously... Just a wee bump of something on the 'fishal.

Beer, Free Pies, Fitba & The Players

As the link says, the Centenary Suite will be open from 11am on Sunday.

Reasons You Might Want To Watch The Game At The 'ark

    • Kids welcome (could be handy for carrying you home, I'll lend one of mine).
    • King Dooogie pouring the ales.
    • Free pies for lard asses and those who enjoy the occasional treat.
    • Meet the players on their return to FP. Carry them high when we win, throw cauld pies if they don't.
    • Karaoke later on... Everyone gets a go at Just Can't Get Enough.

A lot of effort goes into these things "up-by", and those involved should be congratulated. I know we all have our own regular boozers for watching games, but this offers something a bit different. Give it a thought on Sunday lads & lassies, would love to see these events being well attended.

    Intae Thum.

    drinks.gif

    Bob just a few points.........

How many free pies per person/child ?

Are they mince or the steak ones ?

Are they Chapmans ? (Mince or Steak)

Can you guarantee Arnott will serve my pint ?

If we lose will it be mince or the steak pies or Chapmans thrown at the players ?

Will Mr S Kirk let anyone one else on the karaoke ?

Will the bar be serving alcohol at 11 am ? (Might cancel swiming at Wishae 1000hrs)

Is there a vegi option ?

    Look forward to ur reply........8)

Ps Tam Forsyth no gonae be there ????

  15. One year I would love to see the 70's claret sash brought back to our home kit, keeping the traditional hoop for a 60's summer cup style away top. Retro heaven! :D

    dy2mad.jpg

    Both superb !

But i would swap the shorts and socks.........

  16. Saturday now becoming a massive game.......we have to avoid defeat and hope that Killie dont take anything from Swinecastle and a Sheep/arab draw would be nice on Monday

    Saturday, 5 March 2011Celtic v Hamilton, 15:00 Hearts v Kilmarnock, 15:00 Inverness CT v Motherwell, 15:00 St Johnstone v Hibernian, 15:00 Sunday, 6 March 2011St Mirren v Rangers, 12:45 Monday, 7 March 2011Dundee Utd v Aberdeen, 19:45 Thursday, 10 March 2011Dundee Utd v Hamilton, 19:45

Then Arabs pick up a few injuries before the 1/4 final !!!

  17. See I've watched it a few times. It's hard to tell from the angle and I see where you're coming from but I'm not sure if he actually did make contact with Lasley. Regardless, I'm no complaining!

    :D:lol::lol::lol::lol: Agree was never a penalty B-):P:woop::woop::woop:
