Did we actually want Long to stay? I assumed we didn't offer him a new deal.

When he was interested possibly yes...... Wasn’t offered a deal as he  didn’t want to play in Scotland

I also bought the blue one and has worn it to death.

A quick colour change to an old mock up of mine. Proof that C&A goes with any colour.

Amber shorts with white & green/claret stripe ....and white socks with claret/amber/green tops :pleasantry:

I also love racing green, however, I can only imagine Celtic orHibernian wearing it.  Adidas did recently sell a polo shirt in green with a C&A hoop and it was very nice. Although, I can’t see us wearing green.

Would much rather have Cole than Lafferty on the pitch. Would much rather have Cole than Lafferty off the pitch.

Agree ......but unfortunately Cole doesn’t want to play in Scotland( only came back to us as nobody else wanted him)and his goals scored  will get him a deal in Englandshire he wants.......Long was the same

Claret shorts and a proper band/hoop! That is what I call a proper Motherwell FC home kit. The only thing I’m not so keen on is the white trimmings but apart from that that is a very nice kit.

Prefer white shorts.....thought  it might have been amber shorts as we’ve not had them for 4 seasons......nice kit though

QoS are a decent side but  it's a very good draw for us, can't see us having much trouble with any of the teams, plus it's been a while since we played and pumped Airdrie, so here's hoping

Don’t want to rain on your parade........the last couple of times we played Airdrieonians/ Airdrie United(Clydebank) in the league cup they have beaten us twice ......2-1 1994 & 2001

  7. Zaine Francis-Angol

playing for the Monkey Hangers  in the National league today

currently one down to Sutton United who need a win to get promoted to the football league

edit 3-0 Sutton promoted ......chairman interviewed have to rip up their 3G pitch as they are not allowed in football league

Ainsworth’s goal to put us 3-0 up that night was one of the best and most surreal moments I’ve ever had supporting ‘Well. I remember just screaming “is this actually fucking happening?!” for about 60 seconds after it hit the net.

I still didn’t believe we were actually going to do it until the second goal in the second leg.

Ditto.........would have loved Lionel to have slotted the one he blazed over to make it 0-4 !!!

  9. From the BBC football .......preview of tonight’s Scotland game, about the Faroes recent good form......

    Ones to watch

    Gunnar Nielsen

The 34 year-old goalkeeper knows all about playing in Scotland having previously made 23 appearances for Motherwell between 2013 and 2015. Currently with FH Hafnarfjordur in Iceland, he's a steady, reliable keeper, has been in good form of late and has over 60 caps for his country.

And he made the same decision before the Livingstone game which "backfired" into a three - one win. He could have picked DG for that one, we lose, and drop him for Kilmarnock, we lose that one and we really would be in the mire.

Or to put it another way, if yer Auntie had baws.................

Agree ........if yer maw had baws and we had won today we would have probably secured our place in the top flight and everybody would be happy

but unfortunately we never and playing a young guy who has started 16 games in his career instead of the club captain a current Scotland international who has massive experience on playing on plastic pitches is a massive gamble to take in my opinion until our premiership place is secured for next season

Why would GA drop magloire ? His performances in the previous 2 games had earned him the right to keep his place, and there was nothing to suggest he would not have had another decent game. All this crap about Gallacher annoys me, he messed the club about during the January window, trying to force his own agenda and will be away in 5 games time so for me he does not give a fuck about the club. He came on against Hibs and his 1st contribution nearly cost us a goal.  If It was up to me he would be in the stands beside Foley and Nolan and never play for us again.

Like the agenda most players have .......move to a bigger pay packet.......Alexander made the decision and it clearly backfired

I just thought that playing an inexperienced young player instead of a club captain and full Scottish international was the wrong move. Not a problem if we were statistically safe but why take the chance otherwise when we still needed a win, just give him time after that point. I do get the idea of not changing a winning team but as you say the defence has still looked vulnerable and although he’s had a poor season by his standards he’s still the best centre half at the club by some margin and waiting for the inevitable defeat to re- introduce him smacked a bit of failing to make the big decision for me.

Ditto..........if we were safe no problems

Keeper for the first and the youngster for 2@4

Tremendous victory today.......but still a long way to go....next couple of games are massive for us

Accies v St Johnstone on Wednesday night uses up one of the games in hand they have against us....home win drags St J right in to the mix hopefully a draw/away win

Ross County v Killie next Saturday really is a must win for both .....again a draw wouldn’t be the worst for us,

Accies away to sheep hopefully home win, and St J are at home to Hibs again away win would probably best for us

Again a home victory next week against Livy would be a massive victory in our quest for survival, without hoping on other results

re post split fixtures.......we will have played 16 home and 17 away....think St Midden will pip Arabs for the top 6 as Arabs have Celtic/ Aberdeen

Going by fixtures already played should be away to  Arabs , Accies,St John and at home to Killie and Ross County........are we going to have more away games or have someone 3 times at home ?

With St John nicking the last place....split games we should be away to Arabs and Accies and home to St Midden,Killie and Ross County

This would balance our season to 19 home and away games......I think......don’t know the situation with the other 5

I would just like to see the end of plastic pitches in the top flight regardless of the club. You simply can’t play decent football on them, the Livi one is an abomination of an excuse for a pitch.

Unfortunately with UEFA&FIFA allowing Champions league games/Europa league/World Cup qualifiers etc etc on them strengthens the arguments they should be allowed in our top flight.....I’m totally against them in our top flight and any team wanting to play in our premiership should have a grass pitch.

Did the players union recently  not have a vote, whereby the players unanimously voted against them ????

Like everything else in Scottish football would need the ugly sisters to say something to get them banned
