I'm sure the board must have some figure, that if it's met they would sell in January. The tricky part obviously being the guesstimating of how much more money we make by keeping him. On the other hand if we sell him we can also add on our sell on clause. I haven't done the research or the maths but I think it would have to be a pretty hefty sum for us to sell him in January.

Won't be at the final but my son just told me his pal and wife will be in Scotland on their honeymoon and have tickets for the Motherwell section, Through another Scottish connection. Hopefully Celtic's midweek euro game will take a lot out of them, combined with our improved fitness this year, so probably another reason to try and make it a physical stamina sapping game as we probably have a chance of winning that battle. Once you get tired your thinking starts to suffer and your execution suffers as well so lets go make it the style of game we have a chance of winning.

I wonder if he purposely plays tactics or players the first half just to keep the game even and then the second half goes for the win ? So he may not care about the first half performance as much as he cares about the HT score. Obviously that went awry at the county game and as mentioned in other thread, may not be a good ploy Vs Celtic to try and keep it even to half time. Better the Aberdeen ploy of going at it right form the start.

I'm also in the "get stuck in about them" camp. Like a cup tie is supposed to be played. As was mentioned we are a much fitter team now and I also think that our players will be way higher on adrenalin than any of the celtic players. Even if you are having a shite game on the ball you can always get stuck right in and put them off their game. So we may get ahead then tire and get beat but I think we have a better chance of hanging onto a lead then we do of trying to overcome a deficit. So lets get right into them at 0-0 instead of waiting till we are 2 down. COYW

If we had taken 8 out of those 15 we would be first equal with Celtic. Which is probably unrealistic considering where we have been the last few years. Also note that a win against any team is still 3 points. Since rangers hibs and st Johnstone are right beside us then they must not be doing so well against the bottom teams. So doesn't really matter who you bet as long as you keep winning. Having said that I'm not sure if your point is that we are not as good as we think we are or if we want to be seriously challenging for Europe we need to improve a lot

I really hope we get a good turnout for this game. The place is just buzzing now and we have totally transformed as a club while seemingly keeping our feet on the ground. If we can carry that across to more punters coming through the gate it's just going to help even more. Some support behind the team, better atmosphere for the players, one thing just feeds off another. Tough game this one but at least you know now that when you pay your money, you might not get a win or even a great game but you'll be guaranteed 100% from every player on the park.
