Looks like he was bored shitless by the repetitive nature and quality of the questions from journalists! We will be up against it physically against St Mirren, particularly at set pieces. I do wonder if he is likely to bring Ox back in and go with Balmer if Gordon doesnt make it.
-
Looking at Tams team, its clearly all guys he saw play, which is fair enough, as its always difficult to compare players of different generations. But given that Im the same age as him, I reckon either of my teams would scud his! Sieb Nijholt Krivokapic Martin Wark McFadden Lambert Russell Cooper Graham Pettigrew Randolph Corrigan McCart Craigan McKinnon McCormack POD McAllister Murphy Arnott Coyne Notable mentions to Ally Maxwell, George Burley, Shaun Hutchison, Stevie Hammell, Vic Davidson, David Turnbull, Peter Marinello, Higdon, Sutton, Moult & KVV.

I get the financial arguments, but Id just like our league to have a higher profile. 2 good results last night and United in particular were pretty impressive. Hopefully we can take advantage of a fixture pile up and get a tilt at a league phase next season!
-
I guess its personal choice and all a bit of fun, but Joe Wark at right back. Seriously? Bad enough the great man never won a Scotland cap, but not making a Motherwell fans greatest ever 11 in his natural position is beyond the pale!
-
Or maybe the manager is just easing an important player back into the fold by giving him some game time without risking him unecessarily. He had a serious injury last season and a second one in pre season. If he didnt rate him he wouldnt be sending Connolly out on loan.
-
Hard to say whats happened with Campbell & Turnbull, although both have had injuries, so maybe that has taken its toll. But lets not suggest they werent very good players when they left us. Campbell got supporters POTY in his first season at Luton and Turnbull was scoring goals for fun at Celtic. Might just be a series of bad decisions that has left them being miles off the level required. Would love to be able to give them the chance to rekindle their careers at Fir Park where they would get some love and patience. However, I dont see either of them being what we are looking for right now in terms of improving our problem positions.

Didnt Ox play 30 minutes against Hertha? Or did I just imagine that?
-
October 1989 and Yinited are wearing the strip they would wear in the Cup Final against us nearly 2 years later! That and the majority of players son show were also still involved! Changed days!

Lennon Miller in the pics the club relelased of todays training, so I guess he isnt on a plane to Italy just yet.....
-
Wasnt really the way it was said, but take from it what you will......
-
Or maybe we are better than some people think?
-
Really? An entirely new management team, a young player from a top academy, and this is your take? If we get several more similar injuries in the coming weeks you might have a point, but at the moment its an isolated incident.
-
Of course not. But Im sure he has contacts at the club. Is anyone really believing the Miller is injured stuff? If a deal wasnt close then that wouldnt be happening.....
-
Tam Cowan stated openly on Off the Ball on Saturday that the deal has been done and he knows the destination but was sworn to secrecy until it is announced this week. I presume the clubs are waiting until there is a clear news day to make the announcement. I would guess/hope that is today before we get into more Euro qualifiers tomorrow......

You keep being a miserable sod and let us keep getting carried away. Its the Ying & Yang of Steelmenonline! 🧡❤️🧡

He is a lot younger than me! But Im still playing 7s at 56, so I can still empathise! There's no substitute for regular game time (and staying off the drink!) 😆😆😆
-
Good wee vid! Always nice to get an outsiders perspective!
-
I actually think SOD looks fitter and sharper this season than he has in the entire time he has been with us. Remember has had periods when he hasnt played or been injured. At his age the small margins can make all the difference. Still dont think he will be a starter but, much like Halliday, he is a good player to have around even just for his experience.
-
I agree. They will probably do well the first quarter until teams suss them out. That might be enough to keep them out the shit, and McGlynn certainly seems intent on playing attacking football, but I dont see them competing for top 6 over the course of a full season.
-
Aberdeen changed shape a bit 2nd half and nullified Hearts for the most part. Hearts had the upper hand first half and Shankland scored an absolute peach, only for it to be VAR'd. He will score goals for them.this season if they keep feeding him the ball.
-
Watched the Hearts v Aberdeen game tonight. Despite having both spent a bit of money, I didnt see anything to fear. Hearts will do better as they have Shankland being played in his correct position. Aberdeen look as if they will struggle for goals. If we can get the 2/3 quality bodies in that JBA wants my expectations for the season ahead might get raised a little.....
-
Agreed. Would be a real step back for him. Maybe not financially, but football wise he should manage his career upwards.
-
If Gordon is out Balmer is his replacement surely? Dont see us sarting McGinn and SOD as our CH pairing.....
-
Different challenge. But Im all aboard the JBA hype train. Lets do this! 🧡❤️🧡

Despite how good we were to watch today, I dont want to get too carried away as I think we might struggle to replicate that application and energy over a full season. The city clubs have all spent money and strengthened, so it will be a tough ask to finish above any of them unless one of them has a mare. That said, 6th is still there for the taking and should be our target. If we do better than that, fairplay to the manager and the team!
