agreed about the gap between our defence and midfield being huge its been like that all season and for me thats where our biggest problem lies,we simply don't defend well enough as a team were all over the place as soon as we lose possesion and the majority of the time the defence are left to deal with it themselves.we need to get the finger out and start making ourselves harder to beat cause if we keep giving away the amount of daft goals that we are nothing much is going to change.

mccall has been great for us and even witnessing how bad weve been this season my opinion on him wont change,but i really think the best thing would be for him too walk away were a shambles in every department and with his erratic team selections and formations he really does look like a manage that's run out of ideas.as for the game itself other than a 10-15 minutes spell in the second half that's as bad a display as iv'e seen from a motherwell team,confidence is rock bottom that much is evident but there's no excuse for a lack of fight or professional pride and we had neither which is a real concern.there's a number of players that need to have a serious word with themselves and get the finger out and start performing to a half decent level as there's too many going through the motions.

when you see the stats for our recent performances in the cups it really does make for depressing reading,the players and management should be ashamed of themselves.

leitch deserves to keep his place in the team for this game,if mccall wants to bring carswell back in then it has to be at the expensive of lasley who isnt contributing a great deal right now.

the set up of our team looks all wrong at the minute,there is nothing coming from the wider areas meaning sutton is pretty much anonymous and all it takes is one pass and our entire midfield is took out the game and our defence are on there todd to try and deal with it.we look a bit of a soft touch right now i think we should go with lawson at defensive midfield to offer some kind of support to our centre backs and he would be a better option to receive the ball if we want to keep using short goal kick routine.
