  1. Couldn't have put it better myself - and as has been said, we have an unhappy knack of helping out teams if they're struggling (they can't buy a goal at the moment). Still from now to Saturday, positive thoughts only MON RA DOSSERS

    A Request

Almost entirely agree with you, the players did look out on their feet the last 10 - 15 mins last night, and you only had to look at them when the whistle blew for time just how 'gone' they were. SM has done a pretty good job up to now and I'll certainly go into the next game 100% behind him and the team - where I would question last night though was his comment on the radio about only having boys on the bench and not wanting to put them under pressure by putting them on - Jones is hardly a boy, and unless he had an injury of some type, he could have replaced Humphrey who was totally blown. McHugh is young, but has taken part in a good few games, and he could have been put on to work tirelessly, closing down the opposition if nothing else. Page also made an appearance but very late. We got out of jail last night with Randolphs saves late on, but IMO we invited too much pressure on ourselves by not having fresh legs on the park when it mattered. Hope we turn over the Jambos, but kinda writing off this game as I reckon a few will be rested with the semi final in sight MON RA DOSSERS
  3. For me, the feeling towards Brown and Knox is fairly straightforward - I warmed to them in their time with us, even though we weren't playing particularly well when they left, but I did want them to stay at the time. But I'm afraid their integrity will always be open to debate in my eyes - he now goes on about things at the club that we fans know nothing about, and our feelings would change if we did - are you seriously trying to suggest that when you very publicly stated you would not turn your back on the club, players and fans, and then do that very thing within 2 days, that things had become so bad - you have gone chasing the £ signs, and IF you do have something to say, don't sell yoursel as so much of a twat by drip feeding the press, SAY IT. As for the Sheep, I can't admit to disliking them any more for taking the pair of them - they are, and will always be just another Scottish club, but I'm afraid Brown & Knox have sullied their own reputation, no matter how often he talks of his love for our club - unless you do have something worthwhile to contribute Craigie Boy MON RA DOSSERS
  4. Oh sh!t - I hate it when he says something that I agree with but agree I do MON RA DOSSERS
  5. Bet you do although I'm with Big Pie, after midday disnae count ! Just back from Motherwell and sales appear to have been steady without being queued out the door - the lass at the desk mentioned we've an initial allocation of 6000 with the proviso of more when we need them Both Falkirk Bs going tomorrow then - I'm more concerned though as I'm looking forward to it - sure the guys will put my mind at rest with another sterling performance MON RA DOSSERS
  6. If I've been done by 'Real', I'll never hear the end of it Far too trusting MON RA DOSSERS
  7. ???????????????? - I accept the fact they want to make it a good atmosphere with fans getting on, but I really don't get the allocation of a section for either set of fans amongst the opposing fans There can't be that many Well fans who want sit with Saints fans, or vice versa, that they decide to allocate two full sections. Surely, as has been suggested, it would simply have been better to give us sections B7 through to C5, with Saints getting D1 to F1 - more or less the same allocation for the clubs, but the majority of fans kept together, and with the opposing fans being next to each other, there would be a cracking atmosphere anyway. I suppose I should give the SFA some credit for accepting that fans of clubs outwith the Squirm can mingle and enjoy the game, but this will generally happen before and after the game - if you want an atmosphere for during the game, I think the suggestion above best fits the bill MON RA DOSSERS
  8. Dee - just a thought but if you have guys with buckets on Saturday - make sure they display something to show what the collection is for - not everyone will have read this prior to the game and would be reluctant to give money for a reason that's not obvious MON RA DOSSERS
  9. Feared this might happen - was going to go to Motherwell early today but damned if I want to be right at the back - may hang on till nearer the time and see what's going MON RA DOSSERS
  10. As you've mentioned, it's a good idea if you advertise a spot where you could be found at the Sheep game - If I knew where to get you, I'd put some pounds your way. Last night's atmosphere was brilliant, and I know a semi final can look after itself, but you desrve a lot of credit, along with many others, for putting in that little bit extra effort 16th can't come quick enough. MON RA DOSSERS
  11. One of my early memories of following the Well was the St Johnstone League Cup semi-final - would be nice to finally make good that result, regardless of where it's played MON RA DOSSERS
  12. Already looking forward to trip to Hampden, but if I had a preference I'd take Easter Road - I reckon ER would entice more neutrals and 15-20000 there would be a cracking atmosphere. Still wherever it is, bring it on MON RA DOSSERS
  13. Having moved to Glasgow when I got married, I got myself back to Motherwell about 8.30am and just walked about the town before heading to my Dad's - atmosphere was electric - the whole day was brilliant, but I'm sure I was floating on air as I made my way back to the South side late Saturday with my Well top declaring who I belonged to And back to Motherwell the next day to watch the cup procession Utterly utterly brill, and I long for the day I can share it with my lad, the way I did with my Dad MON RA DOSSERS
  14. Made a very average Killie team look like a good team MON RA DOSSERS
  15. Pretty much agree with this and made the point in the first half - Jeffers, Sutton & Murphy made good space for themselves on a good few occassions, as I saw it, but the pass wasnt made as we seemed intent on going accross the middle of the park or backwards to restart - almost as if we wanted ICT to present us with the perfect opportunity. I would argue that the issue hasn't only been recent, but has been festering away for months on end - we can play reasonably good football at times, but very often I come away with the feeling that the opposition goalie has had just too easy an afternoon\night. However, yesterday's past, and hopefully we'll see a return to form for next Sunday MON RA DOSSERS
  16. Unfortunately I was stuck with catching bits & pieces of the game on the radio as I was working yesterday - the commentary team (including Smellic MacLeod & Stevie Craigan) made the point a few times about the 'soft' decisions being given against Motherwell - both were also very critcal of the ref when he didn't allow play to continue with Humph having the one on one. As for the penalty, I don't believe the full back intentionally clipped Las, which threw his balance, but clip him he did, so the award was correct - brilliant finish from Sutton - no keeper was going to stop that one MON RA DOSSERS
  17. Thought at the time it was a penalty, and having seen it on the highlights, soft as it may have been, Cannaeplay had his hands all over him, which has to have been impeding him. If he'd stayed on his feet, off balance or otherwise, the ref would've completely ignored the wrestling. Some go against you, this time the decision went for us Next week, there will officials desperate to keep the Unwashed happy, so we'll take the decisions when they're going. MON RA DOSSERS
  18. As a nipper, it was the big team at home one week, and the reserves at FP the next - excitedly waiting on the half time results at the reserves game to get an idea of how the big team were doing, and then watching Grandstand at tea time and sitting through the English results before finally getting to know whether the Dossers had won or not. And the Pink on a Saturday night for the first match report. MON RA DOSSERS
  19. Bizarrely, as frustrating as tonight was, I have to say I enjoyed it - not for a long time have I seen us completely dominate a team, but we desperately need a natural scorer. Can't help but think that had Blackman\The Duke\Porter been with us, we'd have won by a country mile. The lack of this killer touch will be our downfall for the remainder of the season. Semi Final

Unfortunately this seems to be the standard 'approved' tactic for a lot of teams now Can only assume this is passed on to the management teams when they have their coaching sessions at Largs MON RA DOSSERS
  21. Pretty much spot on - whether I'm a (gettin) old fart or not, I enjoy singing and the atmosphere it brings to a game, but sadly, sitting has no doubt killed much of that. Have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday though, even sitting in the family section, if only the result had been right MON RA DOSSER

    Tactics

With hindsight, McCall probably got the tactics right for a large part of the game, but I personally thought he could have changed it to be more offensive about 5-10 mins after our goal. The midfield trio of Lasley, Jennings & Hately were superb, and this is not a particular criticism of them, but what we miss is a midfielder, the likes of Phil who would collect deep in our half and power forward and quickly change defense to attack. Pearson was also in that mould. We'll see if the remainder of the day brings anything MON RA DOSSERS

    Semi Final

I left for the game at 11am, with the excitement growing, but I couldn't shake the feeling that we hadn't much chance of winning Now, at the other side of the game, I have to admit that I'm really disappointed for the guys, as we played well, with just a cutting edge and a slice of luck missing, and we certainly didn't deserve to lose over the 90 mins - will say however, that The Buns two goals were avoidable, but well taken. Not going to criticise anyone today regardless - win as a team, lose as a team, and we showed a lot of pride and skill out there. What a difference when we get the chanting going, and the celebration at the goal was immense Important thing now is to take the positive aspects of the play forward to Wednesday, and future games. MON RA DOSSERS
  24. For me he is a hit or a miss type player, but well done the lad for getting it sorted (apparently) quickly, and showing loyalty and faith in the club Crossed my mind as well - here's hoping MON RA DOSSERS

    Semi Final

Pretty much how I'm feeling - actually think we could struggle, but you just never know, with a little luck that's needed in any cup match, then maybe, just maybe, we'll do it Either way, I'm going to get up Sunday buzzin, get the bus through, and enjoy the day (at least until the game starts } MON RA DOSSERS
