  1. You were ball boy in 1886 125 years is something to be proud of. Think of the generations past who have been part of the club, ancestors of many of you, perhaps long gone, but whose support enabled the club to survive and so be here for you today. That's what it's all about for any football club, many of which have been around long enough to be called institutions; it's the memories you acquire and the friends you've known. Hopefully the club will still be around 125 years from now, when all of you have long since gone, but again because your support has guarenteed its continuation. Whatever current circumstances may be, a football club is its fans and Motherwell FC now has 125 years worth to celebrate. That's some story to be told.
  2. Yes, sounds fair. It looks a really good cup tie on paper and I hope to catch at least some of it on tv. Very difficult to call these ties. Well need to be right up for it.
  3. Very good . I can't speak a word of Italian myself but it always sounds beautiful.
  4. And here's the organiser of the Bavarian branch. It's all very cosmopolitan
  5. Well I run the Manchester branch. Current membership is two, but open to applications Hello there Italian Steelmen. Inter the reigning world champions no less, and well done for giving the fat Spaniard the boot
  6. Just tried again and it worked straight away. It looks really good and there are lots of good info links. Well done Flow and everyone else who put it together.
  7. Yeah, I just got that. Looking forward to seeing it, though.
  8. All the best to him. Like any mangerial appointment, only time will tell whether it's the right decision, and hopefully he will grasp the opportunity. A new year and a new approach.
  9. Was at the gym so didn't see the game, but just managed to catch the key moments on SSN. Hearts' first goal was bizzare, nice play from Gow for the equaliser, and it looked a clear penalty for the winner. If the weather forecast is right and this weekend's games are affected, it could be good for Well: a few days to take stock and get back on an even keel as the search for a new manager begins.
  10. Just want you want right now, eh? Old Brown's napper grinning back at you from the match programme. The ghost of Christmas past.
  11. Will he be signing a contract at Aberdeen? If so, why?
  12. I'm really not qualified to say, mate, I haven't been keeping abrest of events, but I was surprised at the news, that's for sure, and Aberdeen seem to be a club in big trouble. He will have to live with the consequences, just as McGhee did. I hope you get a good replacement and quickly forget about him. Things are great thanks, never better.
  13. Mark McGhee thought the same, Rick. Time will tell. Hello, by the way. It's been a while.
  14. I received a text from the wife this morning re Brown and was very surprised. Didn't see this coming, but then again I haven't been keeping up with the football this season, so don't know the background. Hopefully you find a good replacement and soon move on. You've seen this thing before.
  15. I think anti-football is a bit harsh when discussing yesterday, Modernist. It wasn't beautiful to watch, sure, but that was due to both teams, not just a consequence of Motherwell trying to spoil the game. The only difference for me was that Celtic had a couple of players in Maloney and McCourt who can beat a man and make something happen, whilst Well struggled for creativity. Can such a player be found at the right price?
  16. I watched the whole game yesterday and was left with the opinion that Well showed Celtic a bit too much respect. Celtic were by no means excellent, and their current side is filled with mediocrity, but Motherwell were a bit timid out there. The only clear chance I can recall was Sutton's header in the first minute which he really should have finished. It wasn't an abject performance, it was steady enough, but any good work fizzled out as the play moved towards the Celtic goal. Shame, because Celtic looked brittle and nervous and could have been beaten. And was that wee Robyn and her pal who made a couple of appearances on telly?
  17. The old fella is a credit to the game. Seventy years of age and still has the enthusiasm of a boy.
  18. Best of luck today, we shall be watching later. Hopefully Celtic's confidence has been shaken following their latest european pasting, though the risk of a backlash is there of course. Difficult one to predict, fingers crossed.
  19. Just popped in to wish the Well all the best and to ask if there is any radio commentary. BBC Radio Scotland don't seem to be bothering. I've got the new shirt on for good luck. Roy Carroll and Djemba-Djemba are playing for Odense now? Both rotten, shame they haven't moved further away. A good result tonight would put the group stage within touching distance.
  20. I will be accused of being condescending but I still say that anyone who pays big money for such a trip to a Europa League qualifier ( yes qualifier ) deserves full respect. I wouldn't do it and defer to those who do. I hope you had a superb trip and that it was worth ever penny. Top marks
  21. ESPN - thanks, Kirky, it's good to know. Hey, opening day fixtures are usually the reserve the bigot brothers, so don't despair. Another twelve goal classic would be fantastic!
  22. Thank-you, Gary, but as we aren't resident in Scotland, perhaps you would be polite enough to give a response to the question. Is the game on tv?
  23. Has the game been moved for TV? What's the story with the changed kick-off?
  24. Brian Rennie? Who is this prick, I've never heard of him? The new Motherwell shirt is really nice, I'm impressed with mine and I think Puma have done a good job. I think I prefer the Canterbury shirt but this year's is a very good effort; the material is silky smooth. Looking foward to getting the hoody! I like the design of the new Rangers shirt, it's very retro, but no way is the Motherwell shirt the worst in the SPL. The new Hearts home shirt is a white monstrosity!
