  1.

If fans don't support the club through the season it will be club over.

    Is that they want?

Our support seriously fucks me off. Bunch of non effort, self flagellating fucking miseries.

You should get a bottle of prozac and a kick in the arsehole when you go through the turnstiles at our place.

You seriously think fans should follow our league despite all that's wrong with it? Folk have been voting with their feet since 1998.

I go every week, however I don't in anyway blame people who can't be arsed going any more because the Premiership is monotonous shite that has almost zero entertainment for your £300 odd basic for home games and £1000's for away games.

The reality is, the Scotish Cup is the only attractive competition to PATG supporters in Scotland these days, not just for our lapsed fans, but for every team's lapsed fans. People can leave the league matches as we'll play the same team a few weeks later anyway.

I've no doubt people would come back to Fir Park if it was attractive to do so. Scottish football isn't in any way attractive to the paying customer.

  2. Sadly you are kidding yourself if you think Rangers can't afford Cadden. St. Johnstone supporters said the same over O'Halloran.

They are sitting second in the league, will probably be back in European competition next year, have just saved a huge sum cutting Barton out the pay roll and will likely sell Waghorn for a decent fee in the window. Probably one of those is enough to raise the sort of money they'd be looking to make a realistic bid for Cadden.

The impediments to the transfer will be 1 - Do Rangers want him, 2 - Does Cadden want to go there and 3 - Do we need to sell?

    1. They most likely won't be back playing European Football as they don't qualify for a licence based on their loss making business model and inability to have their accounts signed off.

    2. They saved a slight amount on what Barton would've earned over the duration of his contract, however having to pay a lump sum to him has stretched their already weak finances yet again hence the requirement for even more loans that weren't factored for.

    3. Who is realistically going to pay significant money for a reserve striker at Rangers? One goal in 9 league games so far is hardly grounds for a bank busting transfer, if anything it proves his level was/is around the Scottish Championship. Absolutely no one is going to be parting with anything resembling the cash that Rangers will require to buy Cadden, they'd struggle to get him even if they sold 4 or 5 of their first 11.

  3. Well you'd expect that the clubs potentially involved in the top 8 category (and there could be more than 8 if you count joint academies) will vote for it. Then there are the smaller clubs who wouldn't be involved anyway - the big boys might offer them some kind of sweetener. So, in short, its very hard to tell how the numbers would stack up. I'm sure I read somewhere that there 6 clubs, including ours, who were dead set against the proposal. Time will tell.

So what you'd have is Hearts out of it despite having one of the best Youth set ups in the Country

Motherwell also out despite our history and the fact we are current Youth Cup holders

Dundee Utd, Dundee and St Johnstone all out.

I would say it's only likely to be Ayr or QotS for the remaining spot if Killie are raising red flags about it.

Leaving Rangers(who have 2 reps on the board), Celtic, Hibs, Aberdeen, Falkirk, Ross County, Hamilton and say QotS in possesion of all the SFA grants, exclusive pick of the best kids in each area and carte blanche to kill Scottish football. Only the SFA could cook up such a thoroughly abysmal idea and claim it as salvation.

If it were to come to fruition, I'd start to question if I'd ever be back at any game in Scotland ever again and many would be the same.

  4. I can't believe Accies are being allowed to push this along with Celtic and Rangers. Their end game is purely selfish and designed to secure the Lanarkshire academy, clearly Motherwell are the only fit and proper Club in the area. Only the SFA would allow this stitch to actually happen. It's amazing that they are still held up as a some sort of bastion of Youth Football despite only producing 2 players of note in their history in McArthur and McCarthey, their youth system along with their track record of producing quality players is woeful.
