It's not all about the defence. The midfield don't track back and pick up players. That's the problem. The neither support the forwards or protect the back four.
-
If it says like this we will have lost more games (10) than any other team in the league. Bottom six form at best.
-
Game over.

I agree on part. What made it look that way was that Celtic had players with pace who simply ran away from and ran off our players making us look slow. There is not one Well player with quick acceleration. Look at our midfield too slow to get up the park and too slow to support the front players. Also lack of goals from midfield. Not picking on any one player, but Sean Goss has played 44 games for us scored 1 goal. In his career he has played 119 he's and scored 6 goals. That shows that he along with our other midfield players are very rarely in goal scoring range. If you check our other midfield players you will see the same pattern of very few goals.

We can all point the finger at VAR as can probably every other team. Our current league position is easy to explain. We have played 15 games and scored 19 goals. 10 of those goals have come in 3 games. So, in 12 games we have scored 9 goals. 4 have been penalties. Therefore from open play we have scored 5 goals in 12 games. That why we are dropping like a stone. We don't create enough chances,(poor midfield) and when we do we don't convert. In the cast majority of our games we have either not scored or scored 1 goal. I don't see that changing. That will keep us in the bottom six at best. At worst, well that's obvious.

Once the play develops into another phase the goal can not be disallowed. That's the rule.
-
Careless throw in or we would have a point. Also Jotta was well on side, so dodged a bullet there

Do you want the brutal truth.
-
FFS how wide was Slattery there.
-
I am expending more energy than him and I am sitting down.
-
That goes without saying, just pointing out that they are no better given their performance so far.
-
The frustrating thing is they are total push.
-
Midfield strikes again. Slattery robbed inside the box. How poor is that. Another goal that was avoidable.
-
Doesn't matter how he sets it up, they are not good enough regardless of formation or who plays. Yes, most goal are down to defensive errors but if the midfield had the legs to track back and cover the defense would at least have some protection. Stop the ball getting into the danger area stop the goals. It isn't rocket science. Hearts young full back runs up the park unchallenged, crosses the ball, hits an arm penalty. He should never have been allowed to run unchallenged. Late in the game and out midfield were blowing out their arses. Rangers game, Tillman runs past our midfield unchallenged into the box and scores. That's at least two goals that our midfield should have snuffed out the danger before the defenders need to engage.
-
They may all be different types of player. Spittal has 2 goals and 2 assists. That is the best record of our midfield and as I said he isn't good enough. I stand by my statement none of our midfielders are good enough.
-
It's not a cast iron yellow card if the referee decides he made an honest attempt to get the ball. In these incidents the forward always leaves his foot in for the goal keeper to catch. Not criticising Moult, he is just doing what all good forwards do. But every attempt by the goalie in this situation to get the ball is not always a yellow card.
-
Spittal may not be good enough but FFS he isn't any worse than Goss, Slattery, Cornelius, Tierney, Maguire or Morris. If I had to list there deficiencies from physique to stamina I would be here all night. Suffice to say not one of them should be a professional footballer. Look at their record for other clubs when you have a spare 10 minutes. Spittal has played the most games out of all of them and scored the most goals. So yes, I agree he isn't good enough for the Premier League but the rest aren't even good enough for the Championship.
-
Correct. It is only if the referee has made a clear and obvious error. And that decision was not a clear and obvious error no matter how much you wish or want it to be. VAR isn't meant to challenge every decision the referee makes
-
If we had won the game nobody would be talking about VAR. It's not infallible and is still subjective. It only allows slow motion views of the incident and someone still has to call it. Sure Goss was onside but I didn't see enough for a penalty. The Moult penalty was 50/50 but forwards are always given the decision. Solholm's was a penalty under current guidelines. Whether you agree with the guidelines it is applied as soon as your arm is outside the line of your body. Excuses are made by teams who lose, but the simple fact is that at 2-2 we should have fell back into our shape (what shape you may ask, but that's a whole new topic) and made it difficult for them to play through us. We didn't and that is poor tactically. Instead we let a guy run fifty yards to cross the ball without a challenge. We let Tillman wonder past half the team to score for Rangers. Sure the defence isn't great but there is no tracking back from midfielders. Not one of them has pace or can tackle. There lies the problem. Games are won and lost in the midfield and I am afraid to say we get out battled and out run in every single game.

You are saying the players can't get any better. Using that logic then Hammell can't get any better as a coach or a manager.
-
I have asked before what are these guys getting coached on. Whatever it is its not working. They are a yard slower than Hearts. They don't track back. No awareness or composure either in possession or out of possession. They have no idea how to defend. I will give you all the money I have if Hammell doesn't say disappointing and learning from mistakes in his post match interview. He is slowly but surely managing himself out the door.
-
Well look forward to going off your head. Check Hammells interviews on YouTube. I swear it is the same interview on a loop.
-
I have cut him slack for the 12 or so games he has been in charge. It is a results driven business, just ask the previous manager. I merely observed that the results are not improving because players are making the same school boy errors over and over again. So, they are not being improved by the current coaching regime. That needs to change. SH took the job knowing the squad. He knew what he was getting and knew the financial state of the club.
-
Well if he isn't and he is ripping into them there is no reaction. He was also never vocal as a player. So you are right I don't know, but just from his personality and interviews leads me to make that assumption. Either way whatever he is saying or what he is coaching then on isn't working. No doubt he will have a lot of practice saying disappointing in the weeks to come.
-
Doesn't negate the point that you have no clue who was interviewed and you assumed Hammell was the only candidate. Also Celtic played 7 first team regulars against St Mirren. Remember it is only your assumption about the interview process and that doesn't make it true no matter how self important you think you and your masturbatory posts are. As long as you get pleasure from your tiresome contrary musings I am happy for you. At least you make me laugh. Not enough of that these days.
