  1. We'll be calling that a "Hartley turn" many seasons from now
  2. Correct, the ref will always have a straight on view of the goalmouth. Unless the ball is in the pie stall in the Cooper Stand, the decision will pretty much be in the hands of the linesman who should have a decent side-on view. Don't know if there's any players obscuring his view was there?
  3. It was really weird, I was driving back from work so I'm listening on DAB which has the Celtic commentary on. I know that game was running late but when it ended it then switched mid-sentence to them summing up some other game and it then became apparent I'd missed them summarising the Motherwell win,wiz raging. Was like some radio ham had control of Sportsound.
  4. I was at that game at Tynecastle, thought it was the esteemed Mr Levein that got Cusack sent off. Only time in my life I've written to a footballer to say don't worry Nick that arsehole Levein was a disgrace that day getting you sent off.
  5. Think Walter Kidd is the man to take care of that.....
  6. Not my decision but I've no idea why the club appealed Dunne's Ross County red card. Clearly bundled over a player in front of goal. Given that club probably have some ex-ref on a retainer to advise them on appeals and it's £1000 a shot, it's all the more surprising.
  7. From BBC Post-match reaction Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson: "We got the performance against Rangers but not the result, but we got both tonight and I think we deserved to get through to the semi final. Has Robinson been mis-quoted there? Save it for a few weeks
  8. Long way off but I'll be bringing my "Killie minded" pal to the Killie home game in Sep. I'm not a member so would we both be able to get in there? If not is JD's next best option? He's not been at Fir Park since getting lifted as a 9 year old so he tells me so promises to be on best behaviour
  9. Guys are work are telling me "oooh the English fixtures are out" and I'm like "who cares?". Fake news. Real news is when our fixtures are out. All roads lead to Hampden July 15th.
  10. I'm firmly in the "grass over plastic" bandwagon. Plastic pitches should not be allowed in professional football. Saturday probably depends on whether Accies have the nerve/bottle with the extra pressure on them now.
  11. From what I could see from POD stand, looked like there was blood on his boot (?) no idea if that was a foot or ankle injury drawing blood. Ref immediately stopped the game (we had the ball) and got him off, he tried to clean it up but wasn't allowed on so they got a sub on.
  12. You can see the referee's hand go up indicating offside so indirect feee kick. He will then be saying to the linesman put your flag up so it's a clearer indication to everyone. It's rare but it does happen that the referee gives the decision first.
  13. Have they actually got someone there for Open All Mics? Haven't heard anyone.
  14. Was thinking same last week, are we the only top division side yet again with no-one from Radio Scotland present? I really like the Open All Mics programme, it's innovative and informative but they have reporters at for example St.Mirren v. Edinburgh City and Dumbarton v. Peterhead. Seems like they're basing this on georgraphical rather than quality of the teams.....poor show.
  15. He's human he's 37 in September. Can't expect him to play every game surely?
  16. Don't know if it's same game but remember when Hearts came to Fir Park middle of winter season they almost won the league 85/86. John Reilly (for it was him) fired us into the lead, yes he really did. Then Ian MacLeod left back slipped on the dodgy surface and they equalised and they went on to win 3-1 as I mind.
  17. I'm the same as I was as a wean, I just want Motherwell to win football games.
  18. Yeah, is it not the case that the referee saw it and saw nothing amiss therefore it cannot be reviewed by the TV Beaks at the SFA?
  19. Yes they are , showed it repeatedly saying has to be red.
  20. Yeah, did not realise he had dislocated his shooder. Was at Tynecaslte when Kirkie famously saved a penalty and we came back from 2-0 doon there.
