  1. Replay showed Scott pretty much level with the goalie when the shot happened, very tight but looked on.

    Rangers Motm

Moult just above Carson for me. Feels so good to have someone dependable back there for the first time in a while. Every shot and cross they took I felt confident he would get something on it, and he did. But while Carson made sure we were still in the game throughout, Louis won it for us, so I went for him.
  3. Turns out Peter Hartley was right, one year loan.
  4. He was only at Plymouth on loan so I don't think many there expected him to be there next season. They're talking about him signing here: http://www.pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=99808 but not a lot as of yet and mostly just wishing him luck.
  5. Software Developer mate, part of the job description. Living over in Canada now so managed to figure it out while I should've been working.
  6. Back to the main topic, and after tonight's results it's going to come down to the wire. It's likely 2nd place in group C and D will both end up with more than 9 points, but that's it. That means there's 2 more spots up for grabs and 6 teams going for it all on 6 points currently. The goal difference for each team looks like: +3: Stirling, QotS, Us +2: Peterhead 0: Killie Unknown: Accies. Accies play tomorrow against Edinburgh city and are currently at 3 pts after 2 games and +2GD so I expect them to be +4 at least after tomorrow and to be in pole position for 1 of the two spots left. Now all this makes it look quite tight, but looking closer at the groups, it might not be. All of what I write below will be assuming we beat Stranraer. Group A: East Fife top the group with 8 pts but have played all 4 games so sit out the last round. Peterhead are playing Dumbarton and will likely win, pushing East Fife to 2nd, but either way any result will end up with 2nd place being below 9 pts. Therefor a win against Stranraer would guarantee us ahead of group A's 2nd place Group B: Stirling's final game is against 1st place St.Johnstone who are on 7 pts. Therefor the same scenario as group A appears, any result in that game will leave the groups 2nd place below 9 pts and below us in the 2nd place rankings. Group C: Inverness and Dundee Utd. both sit on 7 pts and both are favorites to win their final matches, meaning the 2nd place here is probably out of our reach. Most likely upset would be a Dunfermline win or draw over Utd where Dunfermline win on pens. This game is getting played on the day after everyone elses so they'll both be going into it knowing what result they need. Group D: Alloa and Raith first and second on 9 and 8 pts respectively and playing each other in the final game. An Alloa win would leave Raith 2nd on 8 pts and would be best for us, or a draw with Alloa winning the shootout as Raith's goal difference is only +2. Group E: QotS 2nd on 6 pts and playing bottom placed Stenhousemuir. Probable multiple goal victory so we'll be hoping to at least match what they do. Group G: Assuming Accies beat Edinburgh City tomorrow they'll have their last game vs Livi and will probably be a couple of goals ahead of us in GD already. However, top of the group Ayr Utd have 9 pts and a +3 gd and have played all their matches. Therefore, 2 wins for Accies will have Ayr 2nd and any win over Stranraer has us ahead of them. Accies slipping up in either game will mean they finish below 9 pts and in 2nd. Group H: Killie's on 6 pts and play their last game against Albion Rovers, but they currently only have a GD of 0, they'd need to beat Albion by 3 more goals than we beat Stranraer by to overtake us which is unlikely. Also 1st placed Morton are on 8 pts only so a loss or a penalty shootout loss against Berwick will see us beat this group's 2nd place. All in all that's groups A, B, and G that we automatically beat with any sort of win, and as long as Killie don't beat Albion Rovers by 3 more goals than we beat Stranraer we'll be through, and that's if every other result goes against us.
  7. I highly doubt Burnley would have went for Robbie if they had to pay a quarter million to get him. They probably just saw they could get him for free and jumped on it.
  8. If we can't afford it now what else would you have us do?
  9. The other side of that coin though is that he stays with us, gets an unlucky long term injury that stunts his development and never gets another offer the same size again. Its a risk either way.
  10. Fucking Rangers, typical
  11. One of my favourite players when I was wee but also a great guy too. Was at the Avon Bridge for dinner with the family just as Teale had signed, he was staying there along with Michel Doesburg and a young Derek Adams until they got a place. When Shaun found out my brother and I were Well fans he spent a good hour chatting to us about football as we watched one of his old teams in the bar, and giving my wee brother (aspiring centre half) a load of tips. Rounded up the other two and got us autographs as we were leaving.
  12. Ian Cathro would be very interesting if he actually wants to leave Valencia. Guys still really young for a manager, but he's been an assistant now for 3 years and seems to be doing well. If nothing else we could start seeing quite a few more of our young guys coming through.
  13. Pots for next round set, one of the following in the draw tomorrow: FK Budućnost Podgorica (MNE)/AC Omonia (CYP) Torino FC (ITA) Hull City AFC (ENG) JK Nõmme Kalju (EST)/KKS Lech Poznań (POL) Molde FC (NOR)/ND Gorica (SVN) PSV Eindhoven (NED) Some right good possible draws if we make it through
  14. I know his leaving to sevco has tainted his reputation here, but there's no way that Law would not get on this team. He was immense the two seasons he was with us and I think deserved player of the year over Higdon last season. I agree with most of the rest, in fact swapping faddy out for Law, slotting him at CM and pushing Henrik up would be my team. I would also definitely have room in the bench for Humphrey, probably in place of Anier
  15. If we had another season of loss like last one, 400k would be the difference between admin and not.
  16. I think the appeal to Sky might be more guaranteed games between the bigger clubs in the top eight (Less chance of the Edinburgh sides finishing on opposite sides, more OF away to Dundee Utd, Aberdeen etc. on average) any small increase for the middle 8s games could be a bonus.
  17. Since only us, Celtic and United were projected to be in the top 6 I think they'll have it so none of us have to play a team away thrice, that's the way they used to do it anyway. Not sure how that would work with all the combinations though.
  18. We were seeded that year, by the skin of our teeth. I think we were at about a 6 for coefficient and us and Hibs snuck in as two of the last seeded teams. A 6 wouldn't have been enough to be seeded almost any other year.
  19. With all our recent forays in Europe we've racked ourselves up a decent coefficient rating of over 7. It's nowhere near guaranteed, or even that likely but there's a slim chance that could be enough for seeded in the 3rd round. Would need 7 or 8 games in the previous 2 rounds to go our way though. If not, Roma are in 6th right now and thats when they would get in. Wouldn't mind a wee trip to Rome.
  20. We tried to get that system in place but UEFA told us they needed at least one European place from the Cup. Nae idea what would've happened if it was an Old Firm final back when we had 2 CL places tho.
  21. If the top 6 stays as it is, I am pretty confident we will have 2nd place wrapped up. This year we have been immense against top 6 teams, winning 8 and drawing 2 of 14, which is by quite a bit the best in the league (Celtic won 5 and drawn 4 in 2nd). In contrast, we have one of the worst records in the league against bottom 6 sides this season, so this fairly easy looking run in, might not be as easy as it looks.
  22. Motherwell Hibs at Fir Park is always loads of goals and the TV folks seem to have noticed this now too.
  23. http://stats.footbal...PR/ptsgain.html Looks even better now Only team to win when losing more than once, and thats the 3rd time today.
  24. I've just noticed this topic and sorry if this has been pointed out before but I had to take exception to this part. Take a look at this table for the season so far: http://stats.footbal...PR/ptsgain.html Look who's sitting right there at the top. I think what might help contribute to this feeling however is our tiny squad size. I've seen fans on P&B complaining about having to play youth players on the bench because of injuries, we have to play our youth on the bench even without injuries, and have been playing them most of the season. There aren't many good options for McCall to turn to when things aren't going as planned.
  25. Been in Ottawa the last 7 years, only managed to get back for 2 games since then, Llanelli home game and the 6-6 game last season. Seen a guy with a well top on a few years back so theres at least 2 here.
