  1. The next installment of SIWY merchandise is available now HERE.

Limited run of 100 silk scarves which we expect to sell out sharpish. We're delighted with how these have turned out and hope you will be too. As always, thanks to everyone who decides to purchase one and every penny raised will go towards generating fan displays.

  2. Have the bois had clearance to take the drum etc in or is it business as usual at Parkhead (sit down, shut up)?

Not sure if there has been any official clearance yet but on the last few occasions the stewards have been less heavy handed and have allowed entry. Still a good few of the group who wont attend regardless for various reasons.

  3. Quite a lot of them wear casual clobber and don't seem to have any Motherwell colours. Might be unfair profiling, but if you're a big group dressed like that, the police are going to take notice of you.

Just leave the smoke bombs at home and don't give the authorities an excuse.

This line doesn't work for me. I was at the game yesterday and didn't even know there were smokebombs there never mind take one in with me and I ended up coming home with a £40 fine for "Breaching the peace". My ejection from the ground was for asking an officer if she wasn't embarrassed at how heavy handed they had been with a group of 15/16 year old boys.

  4. Faddy was good on the right last season because the rest of the players around him were quick and always breaking when we had possession which opened up space. This season when he gets the ball the quick break isn't on and he has to do it all on his own. With the current lack of pace the only place McFadden will recapture last seasons form is playing up top or just behind the striker where he'll be picking up the ball alot closer to goal in the first place. It seems so obvious from watching us but who do you play at right mid instead?

  5.

Whats wrong with that? I'm not one of the people hurling abuse at Hollis every week and he'll get my support for as long as hes between the sticks but in my opinion we should have Gunnar in goals. For me he looks alot more assured and I think he'd have saved Reynolds header.

  6. We've signed players who are good individually but don't fit any sort of natural shape when put together in a starting 11. It looks like we've just decided to sign anyone half decent without a shape in mind and without someone to link play from midfield to attack. We need a right winger ASAP and when we get one McFadden should be moved up top with Anier.

  7. I don't quite get the hatred from some people towards Tom Hateley. He was a good solid player for us who was consistent throughout his time at Fir Park.

I think some of it stems from the fact it seems like if you have any dealings with him off the park he comes across as an arrogant cock who thinks hes too good for us.

  8. I'd say Vigurs. He retained the ball well and was looking to go forward, Francis-Angol looked lively in the second half, Lawson played ok, but sat far too deep all game, at times he looked like a 3rd centre back. McFadden always looked to work his magic however defenders were doubling up on him, leaving him with no option but to give the ball away.

That was his job, sit in front of the back 4 and stay behind the play.

  9. Just to clarify aswell, the above post is not a dig at either the club or the fans. We just felt it was necessary to explain the lack of display after the fundraising drive so that people are aware of why it isn't going ahead. The money we have received is still safe and will be put to good use throughout the regular season.

  10. It is with regret that we announce our planned celebrations of 100 years in Claret and Amber have been declined by Motherwell FC. When we faced Panathinaikos in our Champions League Qualifier last season we witnessed a great sea of colour in the East stand. We have all enjoyed the colour these actions can bring and how inspiring the players find them. Unfortunately, due to some card making its way onto the pitch during the match last year, the club were reprimanded by Uefa. It is for this reason that the club has decided to decline our planned two stand display this coming Thursday as given the potential cost of this tie already, the club are keen to avoid any potential additional costs from a repeat scenario.

We reluctantly accept this decision, however we are increasingly disappointed that we cannot celebrate this landmark as we planned with what is likely to be a busy crowd at Fir Park. The planned action would have been an inspiring sight and may well have spurred on the team but we must now revert to a plan B in the final section. We would like to assure those who supported the T-shirt project to raise funds for this action that their cash will still be put to good use and we will see a return of these actions over the season.

In order to bring as much colour, noise and atmosphere to this match we have decided to prepare a build up march to the stadium to get fans together, signing and build anticipation for kick off. Furthermore, we would like to encourage everyone to bring along as many flags as possible, most especially if you sit near the final section of the east.

Motherwell fans have successfully marched to grounds in the past such as Nancy and Llanelli and it is for that reason that we think a similar action on Thursday is a good idea. The plan is to gradually meet during the day at the Electric bar on Airbles Road, leaving at around 6:30 to the stadium.

We hope that you can join us and that our support on the night will be as noisy, passionate and colorful as always.
