  1. sorry if already has been mentioned:

but who would even pay £65 for the hospitality deal with the club?!?!

£25 for ticket and £5 for bus so thats £35 for the breakfast.

    Or am i missing something?

On the other hand, we tried to get the £25 seats but as they are reserved we couldnt. But for the £25 seats your paying an extra £35 for a breakfast?

  2. I see that Neil Lennon wants the old c**t strung up in front of the SFA.

i can see where he is coming from. just because he is "well respected" does not excuse his actions. and boyles if i am not being biased.

  3. randy, hutchy, gunning, hateley and the humph are all on yellows.

not too bad. jenno and las not having to worry is a major boost.

Thing is: i dont think we are in a position to rest these players incase they get booked so they can play the final if we make it.

This is the best chance we've had in years to make the final but im trying not to get my hopes up because i'll be even more disappointed if we dont.

I think it will be a hard game, been said before but it doesnt do us any favours when we are the favourites. I am hoping for a great game but a crap game with us scoring the winner late on will do me just fine.

FIngers well and truely crossed! Pun intended!

    'Mon the Well!

  4. That was my main problem, why couldnt Hateley be moved back and put gunning in midfield?

Or bring forbes on as a direct replacement for lasley?

When hammell was at right back everyone was screaming for him to take it down the wing but he had to cut in everytime cause he doesnt have a right foot.

Re Muzz comment: the difference is you cannot play left backs at right back - we would just get caught out all the time.

  5. PLEASE NOTE: Richie Foran & Terry Butcher are no longer with Motherwell FC therefore it is unneccessary to sing songs praising them as per up at Inverness earlier this season.

Anyway, I was happy with the team against dundee but now that is not possible without Fitzy, I am unsure of who I want to see tomorrow. Hately is not a midfielder. Unfortunately I think Forbes will start but we need someone in midfield asap because I just dont think he can do it.

    Why is everyone dropping hammell?

Did Pollock come on as a sub on Wednesday night? How did he play?

  6. Sorry to see him go.

I know he does`nt have the sweet left foot of a "Forbes" but always felt that he did the "dirty hard work" job that sometimes goes unnoted by some fans.

    Best wishes to Mark.

Would much rather Forbes left than Fitzy. I am not Fitzy's biggest fan but the few times he has played this season thought he had improved.

Can't argue with him refusing us for longer term deal. Good Luck to him.

  7. If you're talking about Jennings then I'm sorry but you're wrong; as somebody has ALREADY POSTED, the offence for the crime of 'foul and abusive language' (swearing at the ref and calling him a cheat fits the bill) is a straight red.

Yet another example of the zillions of expert referees we have on here.

    Oh the irony!

Well, whatever the rules (and we know the referee's make them up as they go along, one rule for some and one rule for others) I dont think foul and abusive language is a straight red. You see it on TV all the time when you lip read, they all swear to the ref so should they all be red carded?!?!

Jennings only said what the fans were singing all night so should we have been ejected from the ground??? :whistling:

  8. This has been blown way out of proportion.

Hands up all those at the game who knew something was going to happen whether it be a penalty or sending off. Theres been so many games that because of the performance of the referee that you just knew he would give something. On Tuesday night, it had to be against us. It was clear to anyone watching it on TV or at the game, we were getting nothing off him. I don't blame Jennings and he has done nothing wrong. He didn't act any differently on Tuesday night than he does any other game. He seems to have a reputation and thats why he gets booked easily. If it was say reynolds who put in the tackle that Jennings got a yellow for, you can bet someone like reynolds would have only got spoken to at most. In fact, after Jennings yellow, i was surprised that he hadnt given Craigan before him a yellow as well. I can't really remember craigans tackle but he was very angry and was shouting at the ref and protesting. If anything he should have been given another yellow but never a straight red.

  9. Folks,

Just waiting to get it 100% confirmed but it looks as though Steven Saunders has been promoted from the U21s to the senior squad!

    Full confirmation to follow...

As what? A Striker? How else could he be in front of reynolds?

    Crazy!

Reynolds is one of, if not, the first name on our squad sheet every week. Whereas Saunders has been in and out. Wheres the reasoning?

Edit: But Well Done to him anyway

  10. If I were reynolds or murphy, i'd reject a call up now its only a friendly. What a total disgrace! How can they possibly be overlooked?!? We're getting called the "third force" and have just slipped down to 4th just a point behind 3rd place and they are still not getting called up? WTF?

I hope scotland get pumped dramatically!

  11. Sums it up for me.

And me. Totally fed of of people trying to tell you how to act at games. I'm sorry but I don't go and watch Motherwell to create an atmosphere - I go to watch Motherwell play!

It's laughable that you want to move the folk that dont sing to the east stand to the main stand - there wouldnt be enough room and only about 20 folk left in the east! The folk that try and create an atmosphere during the game are a wee bunch of boys at the end of it - a minority! Move them instead!

Seriously, you cant say if the atmosphere was better the attendances would grow - people simply dont have the money regardless of atmosphere! Or even want to go to the games at all.

If youd rather go and watch st mirren then you cant be much of fan - i wouldnt watch anyone over motherwell! Having said that, all this atmosphere crap just brings up the "im a better fan than you" pish which does my head in. I only mentioned the above because you said youd rather watch st mirren over motherwell - Why? Your a motherwell fan!

  12. Got to say thought he played well last night. I'd go as far to say he looked a different player and I hope he gives the manager something to think about when Lasley returns. I would definitely pick him over Forbes.

  13. Got to agree - a hero, a legend and an inspirational figure are very different and then again it depends on your definition of each. Terry Butcher is not a legend, maybe if your pushing it a "hero" because he was the backbone of a very difficult time and one that wont be forgotten. By using that definition, does that mean Mark McGhee is the same? He managed us extremely well through the most difficult time in the clubs history (too young to know for sure but dont think anything even comes close to when uncle phil died) but does this make him a hero or legend?

Although my favourite player when he was here, I dont know if i would classify McFadden a legend. Maybe i will if he does eventually come back at some stage in his career. I can only praise him in the way he speaks about motherwell and this sets him apart from the rest and for this reason i would stay he is a "hero". Its like he is genuinely thankful for what we did for him and I hope Mark Reynolds will turn out to be the same.

We can see in the papers its too much about money nowadays to have legends the way we used to ie guys who spend their career at one team, etc. We have to appreciate that it probably will never happen again at Motherwell. But when the players show us some respect then they have the makings of at least being a "hero".

I think the last person i would say is a legend is Phil. I had always thought he would have ended up a coach or stayed with us in some respect after he hung up his boots. I think Craigan might be the same.

On the other hand, I do not class Davie Cooper a Motherwell legend. First and foremost, he was a Rangers player and it angers me that we have a stand named after him when so many other players did so much more for the club than Cooper. I am too young to remember but from hearing people speak about him, I know how much of a fantastic player he was and I am not disputing that. Naming a stand after him was a little premature. Im my opinion, it would have been like Celtic naming a stand after Phil before we had a chance to do anything when they classify him as a motherwell player first (the pic on their scorebords after he died was of him in a motherwell strip - which was a nice touch imo)
