  1. What a load of sh*te. Last week after the hearts game they were on about some banner that hearts fans didn't even have. To take the limelight away from the disgusting behaviour of their vile manager perhaps?
  2. Page. Really rose to the occasion I thought and dealt with everything Aberdeen threw at him and had fallon by the balls. He looked like he'd been playing there all season. That showing must have put himself in the frame for starting spot more often.
  3. Of course a good centre half is more that just a good headerer of the ball! And i agree its annoying when folk assume that. But which aberdeen player exactly is going to run at our defence? Maybe megginson from out wide where hopefully hammell/ hateley will deal with it. IMO its more mental to suggest playing jennings CB up against vernon and fallon and further weakening our midfield! As I said in my previous post if we have a capable young lad then that's the best bet. Sounds like cummins is coming in anyway and hopefully he has a stormer!! Surely murphy gets benched for this one??
  4. Fair point, and despite my previous post I too am not a fan of the idea of higdon at CB. However, the thing is stepping up from the 19s isnt just about being a good defender, its also stepping up the pace, pressure and dealing with the rough and tumble that the opposition will dish out. Higdon might not be the best defender but he ticks all the other boxes. If we (and I hope we do) have a youth player that mccall feels can step up then it would possibly be our best bet and a great chance for them too!
  5. Assuming aberdeen play the same way as yesterday and las, crags, clancy and hutchy out, I'd want to see 3 in the centre of the park, sometimes it was as if our midfield wasnt there. Though I hope mccall just does the obvious thing and brings in carswell rather than attempting some concoction of hateley and law with humphrey at RB or something. No idea what to do at centre back, maybe higgy at a push, can mckinnon play and more improtantly is he any good? Two options IMO, depending on whether or not we have a good enough young CB: Randolph Hateley Page Higdon Hammell Jennings Carswell Humphrey Law Daley Ojamma Alternatively, a youth player at centre half, higdon up top and henrik out wide instead of Daley.
  6. Was close to a null vote but went for law. Not his best game by any means but he got his goal and had the right attitude in the second half. Humphrey should have been on much earlier, if not starting.
  7. He was on the right for the first half and changed to left for the second. He had a rotten game today anyway and Humphrey needs to be brought back in for next week.

    Ojamaa

Thats why I personally am confident that he will be a success at us. Yes, spl teams and players will adapt to counter him and he might not keep up the scoring rate but his workrate is incredible. Theres never a lost cause to him and he does the work of 2 players.
  9. Really? I thought he had at least 18 months
  10. I think that's because the English window closed a day later or something. Agree with most - 250k is embarrassing if true, surely the club wouldn't accept that?
  11. Anyone actually know a figure for murph? Hes gone off the boil of late but we know what hes capable of and IMO 250k is an insult.

    Ojamaa

Typical. Why can't they just f@ck off. However, I saw on sky sports news that ojamaa apparently wants to stay on. Let's hope we can get something sorted ASAP.
  13. Great game and great result. Henrik was fantastic again, so hope we can get him long term. Lasley also deserves huge credit for his finish. I think Jamie needs a rest for his own good. Hes a good player but lost confidence and things really haven't been going his way of late. From where I was it looked like a penalty but I thought hammells shirt was getting pulled as he was clearing it which is why it was a poor clearance, not seen it again though.
  14. I can see that side of the coin too....casagolda, charalambous, and so on.
  15. Aye I had feared that about Ojamaa too. I can see it now - just as we decide he looks the business, hearts, hibs, aberdeen etc etc do too!
  16. Cant agree with this at all. When Griffiths does it hes a wee bampot pr1ck, but its ok for Higdon to do it? I dont agree with the harsh criticism of him but he does have his poor games. In general though, we are a better team with him in it. On to the game, big higdon played well and deserved his goal despite missing one or two others. No doubt ojamaa changed things though and caused there defence problems every time he got on the ball. Would like to see him in for murphy and humphrey in for daley on tuesday. Any other ref and we get a penalty at the end.
  17. I would like to see Randolph, hateley, Clancy, hutch, hammell, Humphrey, las, Jenno, law, mchugh and daley in a 4-4-2. No chance of it happening though.
  18. For me, higdon can be a good player for us and no one can argue with his goal tally so far. BUT far to often he tries flick ons or a pass which simply aren't there, when it is, it's great when it comes off but there were times yesterday when it did and then he stood and ball watched instead of getting up in to the box. That's what I find frustrating. Crags did have a decent game yesterday but there were times against queens park when I couldn't believe what I was watching. He wasn't any better than page in that game.Murphy hasn't kicked a ball in the spl since August. Law too has been poor of late. It's surely time to give some others a chance. And totally agree with the post above saying McCall is guilty of always trying to field his best 11 and not the best team on the day.
  19. No chance, not if our recent showings are anything to go by
  20. Poor again today. as been said no plan b from mcall. Crags, higdon, murphy all need a boot up the arse and dropped. Have never been a Higdon fan but thats me had enough now - utter utter pish today. Yes he's top scorer etc etc but hes only good when it's put on a plate to him. He too often tries these flick ons which are great when they work but simply don't work 9/10. Daley could do his job only with more ability and mobility.
  21. While I agree with the majority on here that page was poor, am surprised no one has said...was he really any worse than craigan?
  22. 8.5/10. Can't fault much other than a few perfomance against the OF and the cup final was a disappointment. Something that has impressed me though is his signings. Law Higdon Jones Gunning Daley Hughes Clancy In my opinion, with the exception of hughes (since hes just signed - but we know what he's capable of), they've all made some sort of positive impact on the team . Not a penny wasted in that department. Hopefully he can begin to bring through some of the younger lads too, carswell, lawless, etc as its important for us to be doing this.
  23. Exactly, the ref was fucking horrendously inconsistent today. One set of rules for us and another for them.... He booked omar for kicking the ball away, mcgowan went on to do this twice and not even a word. He booked murphy for nothing. Must have been his first foul of the season never mind game. If the ref had been fair they would have finished with a lot worse than two bookings.
