This. I'd be more concerned if we were taking the caley approach of signing every semi promising player from the conference. Fair play if it pays off but in the end of the day they've made 8 signings in about a week that are all gambles. Think the priorities for us are a speedy winger, keeper and a target man (assuming higdon leaves)

Get what you're saying mate but how long do you give it? I personally would not feel confident going into next season with Hollis as no1. On another note, i was very disappointed in the decision to take carswell off. Firstly, I thought he played well and secondly law was having a poor game and didn't really look interested. He wasn't the only one though to be fair, pretty typical end of season performance....but can't complain after such a fantastic season.

Not a bad player with one hell of a left peg....just not sure where he fits in to our style of play? Got Hammell and zfa for left back. Suppose if faddy, Humphrey and Higginbotham leave then there's a few wide midfield positions going but would he fit the bill in that role? On the law to sevco thing...I genuinely feel that if he was going to them we would know by now. If there's championship teams in for him (that he's yet to speak to in person) then thats surely what he's holding out for. If his heart was set on sevco, he would have signed already. I really hope I'm right anyway.

Just WOW. So much to be pleased about last night dont know where to start. Faddy showed he is still an incredible talent and is a cut above the SPL, he pissed all over hibs, they simply couldnt handle him. And his energy seemed to inspire other players. Higgy sticking it right up mcpake - not just his taunt after the goal but he had him absolutely rattled, properly put the fear into him. Higginbothams goal is absolute class - if van persie scores that goal we hear about it for seasons to come! I think Carswell is improving with every game. What I like about him is he is a real ball winner, very strong in the tackle but he knows when to stay on his feet and when to commit. I have always thought that he needs more comporsure on the ball but watchin him set up Higginbotham it looks like that might come. Hateley too did well in the middle of the park. Cummins is another who is looking more and more mature with each game and Hutchy is beginning to prove that he can lead the line. Just brilliant - up there with the best second half performance I have seen. However, how mcpake and claros escaped bookings last night is a mystery.

I for one am pissed off that Celtic are still pulling the strings even without their pals around to team up with. The gap hasn't widened as such, but the distribution of money is still heavily in their favour. If the spl are going to change cash distribution then do it properly ffs. Why why why basically keep it as it has been - in favour of the big team - a structure that is slowly but surely killing the game off.

Totally agree its what we should be doing but 170k for ojamaa is hardly high. But we might be forced to accept it. Under normal circumstances we should be looking for 3-4 times that surely? I read in the paper today at lunch that we would not be due compensation for murphy can't find an Internet link though. Anyone know if that's true?? I don't understand why we have set an asking price of 100k for murphy. How would we not get more than that in compensation, given that Aberdeen got 200k compensation for grimmer?

200k for murphy would be shite considering the prize money up for grabs if 2nd is achieved. I expect us to lose a player or two in January but really hope we don't fuck this up considering. And with all respect, the youngsters they are offering dont fill me with confidence. Youngsters who can't get a game in the premiership, aye maybe.....youngsters who can't get a game in league 1? Hmmm....

Cant speak for devlin as not really seen him play (before or after injury) but surely it's a bit early to say that about Saunders. He's not really played in the last year. Lets see where he is after getting fit and after a run of games. I like Saunders, think he is a very good player and hope he fully recovers. He is a player who got international recognition after a good season remember.

Would obviously be gutted but also shocked if that happened. Purely because if he's a money grabber like templeton he'd have left last January. Also if he carries on playing well there will be a few better options on the cards for him.

Yes, agree that cummins distribution is poor and definitely needs working on. Defensively though, he is probably as good as we have at the moment, bar hutchy.

Not sure what to make of it today. On one hand a 0-0 at home is disappointing but hearts defended well to be fair and you look at their back 4 - Grainger, Mcgowan, Zaliukas, Webster - all top pro's at this level, arguable the best back 4 in the league outside celtic? Hutchy was incredible today. Ojamma had a poor game, though not through lack of effort. Hateley, again, didn't turn up - story of the season. We have a small squad but McCall really needs to start having faith in the young lads to give us that much needed depth. Look at cummins, almost unheard of 6 months ago, drafted in through injury, established himself and now a real option for us. Not saying the same will happen for the others, but it certainly won't if they're just playing 5 minutes every other week. And drop hateley ffs, getting sick of watching him recently, get Devlin in there or something, cant be any worse just now.

Hutchy by a mile. What would we do without him and/or lasley?

Lawless in particular who wasn't even given a chance in our team - I only remember seeing about 10 mins of him in a cup game once. For me, our main problem is that we're obviously missing Jennings and that NO ONE in mccalls starting 11 does his role. Our only imposing midfielder now is lasley and when he commits forward, which he likes to do, our defence is massively exposed. I love nicky law as a creative exciting player, but not in that role. Why can't McCall just at least try giving carswell a run of games there FFS. On top of that, we have 2-3 passengers in the team which needs to be addressed. Having said all that I feel I've wasted my breath as I can guarantee I already know the starting 11 for next week.

For me, looking at the bigger picture, I don't think anyone can dispute that McCall has done a good job for us. Looking at the bigger picture that is. It's the lack of a plan B and the willingness to shake things up a bit that is frustrating. As someone else pointed out, under other managers (who have been less successful), if we played badly we could at least rest assured that the players weren't having an easy time of it and changes would be made accordingly but that doesn't seem to be the case just now. Ok we have a small squad but we also have a handful of hungry young lads who have shown they have something to offer. That for me is frustrating as a fan, not only on the playing side but also for the long term sustainability of the club - we need to develop talent to play in the first team and/or to sell on. I don't know if there should be more pressure from above for the manager to do this as surely it's a requirement of the job, no? Then again telling the manager who to play is a bit Romanov-esque. On the playing side, however, in mccalls defence he has had a shoestring of a budget to work with, budget cut from last season, no investment. Teams that have had this luxury (st j, hibs etc) are thriving this year. Which perhaps brings in to question the feasibility of, dare I say it, fan ownership. But what other options do we have?

I'd like to see a few changes for this match to freshen things up a bit. I would go: Randolph Hateley Ramsden hutch(if fit) hammell Hetherington carswell Humphrey lasley law OJ Defence been shaky especially if hutchy is still out so three natural centre mids will hopefully offer more protection than the last couple games. Leaves us 1 short up front so id give ojamaa the nod for his work rate. Big game for mccall and if he makes some changes to give us some fresh ideas we could bounce back. Can't see it happening mind you, will be the predictable line up and 2-1 st j.

He did book higdon for a foul on someone, not for the 50/50 early on though. For what it's worth, I think he is just an awful referee. I admit, for the most part it does look like he is bias against us but I know fans of other teams who think the same. He is a terrible, incompetent referee who ruins football matches. Should never have been able to ref at this level, never mind carry on doing so.
