I think as he is under contract with us that they'd have to ask permission first of all to speak to him - unless he wrote it into his contract that he can talk to clubs whenever he pleases.

Can Aberdeen afford McGhee? They have been shedding players left and right for the past few seasons as they can'ta fford them and they have this new statdium to play for. As we know, McGhee signed a hefty extension with us last year so where will Aberdeen's money come from to compensate us?

Would be a shame to see Lasley go as he provides good squad cover and depth off the bench but can understand him wanting first team footie at his age.

I think if we were a bigger club with more money resources then McLean would be a stick on for a new contract. However MFC can't really afford took too far beyond 25 appearnces in 3 years - we simply can't afford that especially in the current market. Personally, I hope he does get that contract but - IF he doesn't - then I can totally understand McGhee's/MFC's reasoning behind it. It's unfortunate but it's a harsh business and it is only getting harsher these days.

18 Years! Man, I was only 22 back then, just a know-nothing kid. Funny to think that something that lives on so vividly in my memory was actually almost half-a-lifetime ago! Mental. Christ, that means it is 8 years since the 10-year anniversary too (DUH!) - and that was ANOTHER top notch day/night with many, many laughs.

Is this the sort of thing that the Trust can bring to MFC's attention who will then hopefully fire in a complaint to the bams in Hamilton?

Surely it would still be Motherwell and therefore still worth looking forward to?
