  1. I would go: Hollis - To give him a game Hately - To get his confidence up at RB Hutch - To Dominate the game Clancy - Should bw gd enough at CB against QP Halsman/Page - Someone to rest Hamster Humphrey - Surely shld rip 3rd div LB a new a-hole Jenno - Comeback game Forbes - Possibly last chance. Law - Lets see him back to early best Murphy AND Omar - Play both up front to smash the granny out them! 6 -0 'Well
  2. Moot points. The TOPIC is how much would I pay to watch Motherwell and how much I value a 90 minute game of football, not what I reckon the unit cost of a ticket is! And if you were to go down this road then you would actually only find that your football ticket is even more of a rip off than cinema or whatever - overheads? I have never seen toilets like the East Stand toilets in a multiplex cinema!
  3. To be honest the true value of a football match should be UNDER £10 for Adults, about £7 or £8. That's roughly what it costs for other forms of entertainment, Cinema, Bowling, etc... and these activities last the same amount of time or longer and are in more pleasant surroundings! So, aye - £8 for an adult round it up to a tenner even and £2/£3 for weans. I would be at every single game if them were the prices. At £18, I've been to FP about 3 times this season...
  4. Spot on. What are the 'pundits' actually there for? They get no chance to/give no insight into the game/play whatsoever. They just state the obvious "yea good goal". "Bad Tackle" "Motherwell are doing well under Stuart Mccall". WE FUCKING KNOW THESE THINGS!!! It might not be everyone's cup of tea but at least Hansen and Shearer (and importantly together with their researchers/producers) give you actual analysis of each game. Highlighting good off-the-ball runs, defensve lines, offside traps, positioning - all neatly rolled together into a cute package with the same technolgy available in the Sportscene studio - and you see these things with the shading/arrows/encircled players that you wouldn't normally catch. In an average 3 goal game sportscene will typically show the 3 goals a near miss and the worst tackle WITHOUT real time commentary, cut to the studio show the same clips AGAIN with Levein/Paterson/Craigan saying 'good goal/bad defending/some miss/gret save' to each clip!! I can fucking see that!!! Once (and I mean once - I do watch this shit as my last ditch attempt to stay in the weekend for 40 minutes longer before Monday comes around!) they brought a couple of on-screen graphics into a game - and it was a 'well game showing Jim O'Brien's spin and turn at throw ins that he got quite good at and they done a bit of homework and showed clips of him doing it all season. But that's just the basics. The commentary voiceover is out of order too - especially when EVERY game gets live commentary recorded!! Lazy and nothing worse than Johnathan Scrotebag saying 'And an amazing overhead kick coming up from 22 yards after this 19 pass move...............goal.' Fuck me.
  5. Pure pish. Delighted I didn't bother going. sake Motherwell. easy home game and we fuck it right up.
  6. Any team news? Really should be pumping this mob however we are near enough evens on the coupons - all over it!! 'Mon the 'Well!!!!
  7. One of the main reasons that Scottish Football MUST go to a 16 or 18 team league. Going to play the Old Firm in Glasgow puts any would-be challenger 12 points behind without kicking a ball. Say you manage a jammy draw in one game 11 points are still surrendered to the Old Firm. It is the same for every challenging team and why the Old Firm's stranglehold will never be beaten. It is obvious that if you got to play pish like Hamilton, Rath Rovers, Partick Thistle and Livi instead of more visits to Ibrox, Celtic park teams like ourselves and a good Hearts, Dundee Utd or whatever could accrue more points and close the gap. But unfortuanately money is more important to Scottish Football than any sort of competition. Unique.
  8. Magic! Pleased with this. A player we have heard of!! Although there goes Craigan's record of most capped Motherwell player!!
  9. Yea looking forward to this. Been wanting Clyde away in the league cup for years now as it is only about 20 minutes down the motorway! Games like this offer the chance to bring boys in off the bench to see what they can offer AND hopefully allowing players out of form the chance to grow in confidence against lesser opposition. For the latter reason I would keep Humphrey in the team and ask him to rip their right back a new arsehole. If he doesn't deliver against one of the poorest sides in the country last year then we need a new right winger. And we should also be going 4-4-2 in this game, no fannying about. -------------------Hollis------------------ Hately--Hutchy--Craggs---Hammell ----------Carswell--Forbes-------- Humphrey------------------------Law ---------Murphy-------Higdon---------- 3-0 Well
  10. Spot on. I know I said we may well lose 6-0 again at Ibrox (if we play like today - certainly) but perhaps we have MORE of a chance away from home against them. Set up 4-5-1, Jennings practically holding the centre halfs knobs he is so close to them in the middle and just park the bus. The other two centre mids taking turns, one presses the ball the other tracks the run through the middle.
  11. 62% posession, fuck me we need a cutting edge!! Far too much respect shown, we have the ball but don't really go at them, NEVER take pot shots at goal and let them swan about the place. Frankly embarrasing record against Rangers, if that was 3-0 at FP when WE had the ball for over an hour, what will the score be at Ibrox, 6-0, AGAIN??
  12. Step forward messrs Murphy, Molloy and Keegan... ...This is what happened the last time we just 'got bodies in'. Unless potential signings fit the team, which at the moment is looking like a passing, pacey attacking team with no-nonsense defenders then I would rather give the U19s a chance, who are at least used to the system than sign guff from Leyton Orient we have never heard of.

    Faddy

...then you take hypothetical musings on the internet far too...seriously

    Faddy

Aye I know. But just saying he was training with us and when that happens with players sometimes short term deals can be worked out. CLEARLY he is too good for us, well maybe not if we are pushing for the Champions League .

    Faddy

I know what you're saying actually but Faddy would give us LOTS of options, lets not kid ourslelves on. He could play wide left in a very attacking 4-4-2 with Muphy and Higdon up front, Humphrey wide right and law attacking CM with Jenno/Lasley holding CM in a diamond. Swap Murphy for Faddy and you get him up front. Play a 4-3-3/4-5-1 and you put Murphy wide right Faddy wide left Hidgon up front. Las/Law/Jenno in the middle. If you want Faddy through the middle behind the Striker put Law wide left etc..

Still no club and with Levein saying in the press recently that he must be with a club and playing regularly to get in any of his Scotland squads (fair enough, obviously) he better get the finger out!! He was training with us over the summer, obviously likes being around the place and what better place to get yourself in the shop window than scoring for Motherwell at the top of the league?!! Even a month to month rolling contract, if anyone bigger fancies him he goes, no strings. Surely this isn't impossible?
  17. Just heard from my mate (Boagster MFC) that we have signed Grabatelli, a Striker on loan 'till the end of the season from Spurs. Don't know much about the lad, anyone heard anything?
  18. Nothing like the start to the season and being top of the league, I am giddy for Saturday!! Only Monday, meh, glad I'm still on holiday, Sat can't come quick enough!! As for next week a win would be a LOT to ask for and would put us on double figures after 4 games - nothing short of superb. I would take a point and can see it possible being 0-0, with our defence being top notch so far at the Buddies missing their main man. But then again, wee Murph can nick us a goal and we MIGHT win this one 1-0, here's hoping!! Oh, and aye, Carswell for Las, leave Hately at RB, he is dung in the middle of the park. Hopefully Hutch back too, not being overly harsh on Saunders but Hutch is the better defender.
  19. Who the hell is this? I completely can't remember him!
  20. Totally agree. My fear is we won't get a Striker in 'till Murphy leaves, still leaving us 1 Striker short! You could argue that we could do with 2 (well 2 'forward players') in without Murphy leaving and I can't help feeling that we seriously missed the boat with Nigel Hasselbaink - will be excellent for St Mirren this year by all accounts.
