  1. I think when he signed alot of us thought that, yea. However the big man is a good honest SPL Striker that most clubs in the league outside the Old Firm would happily have in their squad, even as 3rd/4th choice Centre Forward. For that reason he would be well worth another deal - always a threat up front and a great penalty box striker, something we wouldn't have if he left.
  2. Motherwell shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Barcelona. Quite literally the best football I have ever seen from them last night.
  3. What about Cinemas, Restaurants, Fashion Malls like Braehead or the Fort? Are they essential? No. Yet the Police don't close them down for the snow. Why a football stadium? Hell the police don't even close down schools - 1000 weans walking on their own or sitting in a double decker bus is alot more dangerous than mostly grown men making their way to a football match. I
  4. Totally. And the best comparison, as said on here lots of times, is that the police take the decision making power away from football fans to go to a game yet they allow old ladies to cut about shopping precincts, families to go to a cinema or whatever. There will be more people travelling to other forms of leisure and entertainment today than the 4,000, mostly grown men, that would have been at Fir Park. How the polis get away with that is beyond me. Motherwell Football Club is a trading limited company - just like Vue cinemas 2 miles away yet the police don't shut their doors for them. Gets right on my tits.
  5. Rumour is the SFA told EVERY Foreign Football Association that this was a Referee Exchange programme and NOT strike cover!! As soon as the countries find out they aren't supporting referees they are pulling out one by one!! What a scandal!! And the SFA have been banging on about lies and integrity all week!!
  6. It is fucking freezing. I do hope though, that all the SPL games get sorted out. It is a right couple of fingers up to the Scottish refs that they are carrying out a strike and we still don't need them for the majority of fans' games. This might even be the start of pemenent 'exchange' programmes like they have in Poland. It would certainly give every club a fairer chance against Celtic and Rangers and put an end to the 'he's a h*n/tim' fiasco.
  7. I fucking love Yazoo. We cheeky four pack, banana obviously, from Asdas is the ticket in the fridge for a hangover!
  8. Know what you mean. When you miss games a little bit of you wishes for a drab but safe 1-0 win that you wouldn't have missed! You soon get over missing a game though. Unless we win 9-0
  9. There's yer problem, right there. If I was you I'd stay in the house, put the weans to bed, watch the Manchester derby with a couple of tins, have a cheeky :wank: at half time and be 30 notes up.
  10. Th Spl for us is 3rd-12th - so says our manager even, so aye, we would be miles clear at the 'top'
  11. Yes please -that every away game WON apart from Ibrox? Imagine we could do the simple stuff and take 3 points from home games against shite- We would be MILES clear at the top!!
  12. McGhee has to just clean resign at the post match interview.
  13. Worst draw possible. By a mile. At least if we got Celtic and the Buns got the sheep there would be a chance Aberdeen would deo their usual and up their game and maybe get to the final. Now , Celtic will be in the final and we will have to beat both of them, in Glasgow, to win the cup. Sad times.
  14. Aye give us it. I was thinking the Old Firm semi so we only have to beat one of them. A tough task if we get say Celtic and beat them in the Semi to then go and beat Rangers in Glasgow too. So I wouldn't be too upset with and Old Firm semi and us v Aberdeen - at Easter Road
  15. Better get yer tin hat oan then... For what it's worth the OP asked if you could choose which of the Utd double header you would prefer, I gave my choice and the reasons for it. If you could offer me the chance of a league cup win and watching the players celebrate on a Hampden Park with 16,000 'well fans in it OR a game in the summer holidays against a team you have to google when we draw them to find out which country they are from I would opt for the former. And those frothing at the mouth at my honesty here are kidding themselves on if they think otherwise.
  16. Actual bored of Europe. We won't get a better chance of progressing than that time in the summer there. That is it I'm afraid so I would much rather take our chances in a cup we have a shot at actually winning and have a few good days out to Hampden than choose points for more Euro games against European nobodies. But it isn't a choice though..
  17. Aye, but what did he do? He bottled it and came home - like most Scottish players. I love hearing stories of guys going off to the USA or on the continent to play football, it must be fucking heaven - off to a new part of the world to stay, live like a rockstar and only have to kick a ball about a park for it. Its a small, perhaps close mindedness of a largely subordinate society that holds so many back from doing that in this country - players should be asking their agents on an hourly basis to get them a club abroad, don't they realise they have the skillset for a job that has vacancies in every country in the world!! Reynolds should be all over this, and yea - he would be an automatic pick for Scotland once a foreign name would appear beside his name on a team sheet
  18. Unfortunatley a split is the only way to give the Old Firm 4 games against each other and clubs a chance to play them both twice at home. For that reason it is a no brainer on the parts of the SPLs moneymen. What they fail to realise (or at least entertain) however that there is fuck all chance of the ridiculous gap between the Old Firm and the rest closing as any challenger has to play the giants 8 times and practically forfeit 12 points in Glasgow over a league season. There is no doubt the gap would close if a good Hibs or Hearts side or ourselves even got to play sides like Dunfermline, Rath Rovers, Dundee etc.. rather than extra games against top six sides. Not to mention how exciting the one visit of say Hearts, Hibs or Rangers would be if there are only a few points seperating the top 5. Then again, when was Scottish Football about excitement and teams trying to win stuff...
  19. I just realised he wasn't playing - even though I spotted Hately at LB and thought he was pretty decent with his left peg.. Game was dire although it was one of those ones where I was totally counting the 3 points and wondering how good our league spot would look if we won the Hibs game that we should have won - literally seconds before they scored. After that we had pressure but fuck all chances - Jennings missed a total sitter at the end though. Pretty shite - obviously seeing as there were a few hundred 'extra' at the game never to be back
  20. Me too actually - the thought of driving back down in the pissing dark from Brechin on a school night is giving me the fear and I am fully giving it a body swerve after being initialy quite excited about the game.
  21. Clarkson got his first cap (and scored) while at Motherwell, then his next 3 or 4 squad inclusions were on the back of that as Burley couldn't really drop him as he had done nothing wrong in a Scotland shirt - was soon off the radar though. Pretty sure McCormack was capped at uss too but might be wrong. I can't see how Lasley would get near a midfield of Fletcher, Brown, Thomson et al!! Hammell isn't anywhere near as good as we all think he is. Reynolds - meh, perhaps but he can be made to look silly against SPL forwards at times - what would Torres and Villa do to him?
  22. HAve we ever had 110 users on here at 11.20 on a Tuesday before? Expecting news everyone? Edit: Accies just signed Casalunovo from Utd at 11 pm - so you never know!
  23. How's that - expansion? Or team with no stadium could win 1st?
