  1. WHILE the discerning and far-travelled punter endured a forlorn search for a watering hole in Rome after UEFA's Champions League final curfew kicked-in last Tuesday night, Michel Platini's cronies quaffed merrily into the wee sma' hours with their £30,000-per-table hospitality packages.

No exceptions were made to the rule, not even to two distinguished guests of Sir Alex Ferguson. Walter Smith and James Mortimer, in whose honour Royal Exchange Square ought to be renamed, thought they had cracked it when they stumbled upon a cafe that had been selling gallons of nectar and putting it through the till as ice cream.

Alas, no sooner had they parked their parched tongues by the bar in anticipation of an ice-cold Peroni than six of La Polizia's finest dubbed-up the shebeen . . .

What is this all about????????? Scottish football is boring, scottish football is boring, and parched tongues to finsh!!!! and his boss said yes lets print this..... someone should be head of the queue when payoffs come at this rag.

  4. He did great last season and certainly helped get us to 3rd spot.

great free kicks this season too.

most memorable moment? has to be one one where he smashed it off his own face. that and getting stuck into Donati.

good luck with his new club

  5. My money is on the players being a bit angry last year after we got shafted and somebody saying something out of turn so they have decided not to ask us back this season.

Good luck trying to get an atmosphere this year!!!!

  6. the main question is....... will this save Ice Rink from his deep depression??????? or will that only happen once the stairs are painted?

I know it is a stupid thing to be happy about, but after years of silence it is great to get communication from the club on what is going on. take a bow Leeann, and we will all support you in your quest for a pay rise.

  8. From BBC website BBC

The Scottish Premier League has split in two after the first 33 games, with all clubs playing five further matches against teams in their 'half'.

Motherwell's 2-0 defeat by St Mirren on 18 April destroyed their chances of claiming the final spot in the "top six", allowing Hibernian to join Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee United.

The SPL champions will go straight into the Champions League group stages next season, with the runners-up facing two qualifying rounds. Title rivals Celtic and Rangers are guaranteed to fill those two places.

Teams finishing third and fourth will qualify for the Europa League, as will the Scottish Cup winners, while there are also three additional places awarded to the three national associations which finish highest in its Respect Fair Play league standings. Norway, Denmark and Scotland were the highest-ranked associations in late January.

Each qualifying association is then entitled to put forward the highest-placed club from its own fair play standings which has not already qualified for Europe.

INTERNET LINK: Norway lead Respect Fair Play rankings (26 January)

The SPL's bottom club will be relegated to Division One.

  9. Fair Play to the club on this.. the old regiem made a fuck up, the new one fixed it. Couldn't really do it any earlier because then the folk who got stung with this in buying season tickets would have been looking for a refund the club couldn't give.

so credit where credit is due

  10. Need to turn Fir Park into a party venue for Saturday. I fully expect reduced prices and season ticket holders to bring a friend.

We need 3 points, because i can't see rangers winning 5-0 against Hibs.

    Come on the Steelmen

  11. a nice article and great to hear what is happening to all the stuff left outside the ground. We can only imagine what Eileen and her family have went through.

what is very disappointing is a huge article about a man we all loved and all some people can pick out is one sentence and use it as a stick to beat the club. get a grip.

as someone said the stuff outside the ground was in a terrible state and I am sure whoever suggested it just gave it as an option.

  12. It really is embarrassing now. On Saturday the pitch was at it's worst ever - I doubt you could point me in the direction of a worse park in the UK - ANY divison.

The Aberdeen pitch while having more grass was in an awful state last night.
