Do you sit in the Davie Cooper? Cos the South Stand end is still pretty bad. The other half looks much better.
-
Clarkson caused all sorts of problems for Aberdeen. MOTM. O'Brien was great in the first half but faded in the second like a few other players.

Twitter is for people that think every aspect of their life is worthy of pan-global recognition when in fact no one gives a shit. For the record, I'm sitting in my pants and socks eating Haribo Starmix for breakfast.

I said this before but I think Murphy has been exposed to first team football far too early. We are in danger of wasting a talent just because we have a very small first team squad. The Smith/Murphy thing, well horses for courses but one thing I do like about Smith is he is a big lad and has a physical presence that Murphy just doesn't have and I think that is important in the SPL.

To be honest I don't think there is much point in Motherwell dropping this player if he can just go somewhere else, cos be sure, other clubs will probably be happy to have him if he's any good. There should be a club wide disciplinary system so that if Motherwell get rid of him he can't sign up for another professional club. I don't see any reason why if someone was convicted of a criminal offense that couldn't happen. Maybe that way they would behave themselves a bit better. It's not good enough just to raise players, we need to raise players that aren't an embarrassment to the club with their anti social and criminal behavior. Perhaps discipline needs to be ramped right up down there.

They are pish but are above us in the league, four points clear, haven't lost (over 90 minutes) in 7 matches and have already beaten us twice this season! Aberdeen have drawn their last three away games - a draw looks the most likely result tomorrow.
-
Don't think this is true actually. Aberdeen are at least twice as big as us in terms of income, budget etc and McGhee has already got us into third. Surely any good manager would believe, with twice what he had he could take it one step further? It's a while since Aberdeen actually won the league but its that THAT long ago that they were finishing as runners up. Also everyone knows Rangers are in a hell of a state and next season could be a real struggle for them. If a team is going to split the OF next season will be the time to do it. There is a real opportunity to take on the Old Firm now, particularly Rangers, and I think a club the size of Hibs, Hearts or Aberdeen, if well run and with astute management could potentially do so, next season and possibly beyond that depending on the Old Firms finances.

Neither my dad or either of my grandfathers had any interest in football. I did a have three uncles though that all supported different teams, Rangers, Motherwell and Accies. I got taken along to all three stadiums but I was more interested in playing football at that stage. I also went through a kids phase of getting a football strip for my birthday I really liked and then supporting that team for the season (Aberdeen, Dundee, Watford etc)! I only really got into going to games when I was old enough to go myself (about 12 or so) and as the local team, it had to be Motherwell - less bus fare from my pocket money! Started coming a long on a semi regular basis about '86 (when beating Dundee Utd or Aberdeen was like beating Barcelona or something, don't laugh younger fans) and I've not missed many home games since '88.

It's not over yet. Especially if we beat Aberdeen next week. If Hibs do a number on Aberdeen today we could go above the Dons next week if we beat them. If Aberdeen win, we'll in 6th place with Hibs behind us. Still all to play for.

It's more exciting if you can't see it.

last 15 minutes.....ekkkkkk!
-
How are we actually lined up? I've not seen us with McLean and Quinn playing in the same side.
-
We'll be better in the second half. We are always better in the second half. Touch wood.
-
Sounds like a case of just bottling it.

Five bookings on the trot for Klimpl. That's got to be a suspension.
-
Ugh. This 'trying to work but checking the live updates every two minutes only to see constant mention of Kilmarnock efforts on goal and nothing from us'. I don't like it at all!
-
Great club servant. I miscalculated earlier, he already has made his 250th starting appearance for the club. Stats should be 251+14 (6) in all competitions.
-
We are turning over profit modest profit, doing reasonable well on the park and finishing in the Top Six WILL punching above our weight since the OF, NF and Edinburgh clubs have much bigger budgets than us. There will always be problems and niggles but overall, I think you have to congratulate the players, staff and, yes, even the chairman for running our club in a responsible and, by our standards, successful manner. Now let's beat Killie!

Also Mark Reynolds favourite book is Harry Potter.

Did we play Nancy at the start of the season? The Nancy game was the turning point for him. However before that we dropped 5 points out of 6 entirely down to howlers against Dundee United and Aberdeen and he was far from convincing in other games. Since the penalty save against Nancy he's been better but he's never entirely convinced. Do other Motherwell fans really feel comfortable when any high ball goes into our box? About a third of the time he misses them completely. He's not ironed out the problems in his game which re-occur, perhaps not as frequently as last season but still on a regular basis. Poor command of the box, poor distribution, dealing with crosses and high balls. In the end, he's probably a middle ranking Motherwell goalkeeper, not the worst but certainly not one of the better ones either. I'm not really having a go at the guy other than to say I don't think he's good enough to step up to a higher level than decent SPL side. Look at Craig Gordon, he can't get a game at Sunderland and he's miles ahead of Smith as a goalkeeper.
-
Motherwell is the highest level a goalkeeper that can't deal with crosses at all, is going to get. He started the season in terrible form but has improved over the course of the season but Graeme Smith is never going to be an international level goalkeeper unless he starts to show ability that he hasn't across his entire career so far. He had a good first season and a terrible second season, this season being middling, so its not like he's shown amazing consistency either. Basically he thinks he's better than he is but you can't blame him for trying to climb the ladder of success but I'd be surprised if it benefits his playing career. In a sense he's had it easy here with no real competition, that won't be the case at a bigger club. However, I will be sorry to see him go if Fraser is the first choice next season. For all his faults he's better than Fraser.

Despite all the stuff in the media about 'unrest' at Hibs and Paatelainen being useless Hibs recent form isn't bad at all. They have only lost two league games in 2009, one away to Celtic. Dundee United are actually the team that are falling away a bit. Four defeats in 2009.
-
Kilmarnock haven't won since 27th December, 11 league matches ago. They haven't won at home since 15th November, 9 home league matches. However, they have beaten us home and away this season! Last Five League Matches at Rugby Park 18/10/08 (L) Kilmarnock 1 Motherwell 0 24/11/07 (W) Kilmarnock 0 Motherwell 1 (O'Donnell) 23/12/06 (W) Kilmarnock 0 Motherwell 2 (Foran, Paterson) 08/02/06 (L) Kilmarnock 2 Motherwell 0 13/08/05 (L) Kilmarnock 4 Motherwell 1 (Clarkson)

Next couple of games are going to make or break us in terms off finishing fourth. We need to win against Kilmarnock since Aberdeen play Hibs and one or both of them will drop points. Dundee Utd have a tough home match against Celtic the same weekend and Hearts have Rangers so we could gain points on them as well. Then the next game is at home to Aberdeen, if we could beat them, Dundee Utd and Hibernian are playing each other so again one or both will drop points. 6 points in the next two games would probably put us in a really strong position, the question is can we actually get them!
-
The pitch really is shocking I wanted to see Quinn's comedy miss but I guess I never will now! Looked a stonewall penalty to me for Dundee United and the ref was right next to it! But they stole points off us the last time at Fir Park so maybe that was us getting them back this time.
