SPFL footballers basically get paid for tying their boot laces.
-
He got his new deal off two good performances.

I always just automatically think it's 1995 until I do some quick arithmetic in my head too but unfortunately this' recent' is now 25 years ago. They'll be posters, hell, current players, not even born then!
-
For my Motherwell XI he's always straight in the team and then I keep changing my mind over who partners him up front. So what I'm basically saying is he's the best striker by a distance we've had in my time.

Just been diagnosed with Getting It Up Hearts By Proxy.

While that's true I've seen poorer Motherwell sides than the present one beat better Celtic sides than the current one. Personally I think players are too lazy and don't have the heart for these types of games these days. Players these days just don't want to extend themselves. They are happy in their place and are fine picking up a wage for mediocrity. That doesn't sit well with me.

Two out of three matches in the domestic league this season Celtic have dropped points to a team playing 4-3-3. Kilmarnock and Rangers. OK, Rangers are a level up but if Kilmarnock can do it? People go on and on about formations but I think most of the time formations are smoke and mirrors. You either perform or you don't and it seems like we haven't again against the OF.

I think this can join a list of things I'm pretending didn't happen this week.

Literally wake up, check my phone to see what time the game is and we are already 2-0 down. Assuming it's still only 2 as since gone for a piss.

Why my career as a right back never came to fruition.

Good to see the introduction of the not good enough, never a midfielder Barry Maguire wasn't a large enough handicap to prevent us winning the last two matches.
-
Even when we've won there there's not been too many good performances and then you add the wind into the mix along with the terrible surface. We should probably think ourselves lucky fans aren't allowed in on a day like this. Livvie's home form is all over the place, take a point off Rangers, lose to Accies, we won our last away match but before that it was poor. Livvie do usually score so if we are going to take anything we are going to continue our recent form in front of goal.

That's fine and all and your personal preference is entirely down to you but the main issue is still that people have paid for entry but wouldn't be getting in despite a lifting of a supporter ban. OK, it's very much a hypothetical question as I don't see restrictions being lifted in Lanarkshire for a while but I just wonder what people would feel about that.

So the club expects fans to pay for season tickets but then not let them in as it's an inconvenience? I didn't buy a season ticket this season mainly due to having no income myself but also never really expecting to actually see a game. However the club did encourage fans to buy season tickets with various 'perks' as if they would be able to attend. I wonder how season ticket holders that did pay for a ticket will feel if there is no government restriction to attending (even if it is restricted numbers) but the club decides against doing so. Personally I wouldn't be very happy about that but since I didn't buy one it's not a problem for me. Over to you guys.

ONE DAY LATER....

He joined the only team he could ever score against..

When Rangers and Celtic are battling out this 10 in a row thing I think it's unlikely teams will be awarded 0-3 results if they can't field a team and even if it does come in I foresee all sorts of shenanigans if it effected the bigger teams. I mean they have bigger squads but as we've seen all it takes is a few players in different bubbles to be infected and that knocks a lot of players out of contention. Also, I think some of our supporters need to realise that Covid is probably more likely than not to visit our doorstep at some point and that it's entirely possible we could be relegated because you are introducing a very random factor into which teams pick up points over the season. Then on top of that there is the whole thing of teams having already had games postponed, rescheduled and played. The whole thing is not so much a can of worms, as a can of vicious cobras. It might be that awarding results is the only way forward, I don't really know, but I see big trouble brewing.

Only St Mirren have scored less goals than Ross County and ourselves. And Ross County and Motherwell have the worst shots on target record in the league. Based on the contrarian nature of football expect a 6-5 victory for one of the two.
-
I'm not saying you are wrong but I have it in my head that Doncaster said there was 3 free slots in the schedule when he was interviewed on the radio at the start of the season. Even so it's going to be tricky negotiating the winter. I think it's entirely possible we'll have a second season in a row that's not completed and given the stakes at the top of the league I'd imagine there is going to be carnage at the SPFL if that does transpire.

Would take Danny Johnson over any of our current strikers.
-
Christie didn't get into the Celtic team right away and now he's their best player (at least while Edouard is in the huff). There is a huge gap between our level and their level and there aren't many players that can bridge it without a period of adjustment.
-
I wasn't sad to see Cadden go. The guy went backwards at a rate of knots after his injury and never really fitted into Robinson's style of play. He's a trier but his ability as a footballer was draining away and I think we should at least aspire to bring in a better standard of player. It won't always work out that way but I'm prepared to accept that rather than settle for mediocrity.

Quick Google search brought these up so at least 6. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/sunderland-afc/league-one-game-postponed-after-positive-covid-19-test-2991848 https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/grimsby-town-coronavirus-league-two-19015559 https://www.espn.co.uk/football/tottenham-hotspur/story/4187941/carabao-cup-tottenham-clash-with-leyton-orient-postponed-due-to-positive-covid-19-tests https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54525749

Don't know why people think it hasn't been. There's been a bunch of postponed fixtures in England.

You've got to worry about the season even at this stage. If we see a Covid upsurge during the winter months that matches that usually found with other viruses it's going to be very difficult to complete the season.
