Erwin was a menace throughout and was enjoyable to watch while Long provided numerous heart in mouth moments. The contribution of both were at opposite ends of the scale. After getting it in the neck for taking the wrong option a couple of times, I admire Erwin for having the balls to go on a solo run for the goal.

Thought Erwin was terrific today. He ran himself into the ground and was well on the way to being motm before his fine winner. Really like Josh Law at right back, played some great balls down the wing today.

Thoroughly enjoyed that today. Refreshing to see a Motherwell team that isn't psychologically beaten by a plastic pitch before we kick-off. Our fitness is also streets ahead of where we were under McCall. Despite our ropey defence and liability of a keeper, I fancied is to turn it around today. We've too much quality going forward. Over the moon with Erwin's goal, he was absolutely terrific today. Hopefully his contract is sorted soon.

Was down at FP picking up Killie tickets and was none the wiser to the Pearson news. Brilliant business done much quicker than anyone could have imagined. Could be a significant day for Motherwell with Les taking on the vice chairman role.

The Bythemin boys flagged the footage recently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUPPe2OniQE Randomly, this game always reminds me of the ecoli outbreak.

Hopefully we also get his contract sorted out during the international break.

Have to give it to Ainsworth for making the breakthrough with an outstanding strike followed by a quickfire 2nd and a quality assist. Special mentions though to Pearson and Erwin. Both dominated Accies.

Much more like it tonight. Ainsworth has rightly been criticised this season but more often than not, his quality will come to the fore when it really matters. If he could keep himself motivated he could easily get 20 a season in this league. Good energised performances all round but Pearson and Erwin put in helluva shifts. Delighted for Sutton too, get a cross in and he'll do the business. This team is miles ahead of what McCall had to offer this season. Let's see if we can get another monkey off our back and perform on a plastic pitch next time out.

Was mesmerised by him as a bairn and didn't really know about his Rangers history until I got the super cooper video one Christmas. Will always mind my mum turning up at the school gates with a tear in her eye to tell me the news. Such a sad loss and 20 years on, yet to see such a special player at close quarters.

Glad the question was asked but the response didn't surprise me. Maybe one of the journalists that regularly attend the Press Conferences will pose the question directly to Baraclough (Or maybe the podcast team will end up with a Press Conference pass...).

Good stuff. Catching the under 20s highlights is something I look forward to every week and think we have the essence of something very exciting. From the outside JJ has done a very good job in getting talented young kids to be comfortable on the ball and express themselves.

I don't think we have a lump sum target anymore? My understanding is that we're looking to generate a regular and dependable revenue stream.

I'll also be joining despite being sceptical from the outset. Before doing so, I'm interested to hear if there is a strategy and targets being drafted with regards to projected contributions to make the model sustainable. The £10 a month is a fantastic hook but I know 1,000 fans paying a tenner a month isn't going to do the job. With some projected numbers and meaning behind them, I'd look to contribute as best I could. Digressing slightly, in conjunction with core fans adding to the WS fund I do hope their is a wider message from the club to encourage disengaged fans back through the gate. Our core support has to grow to have a chance of making fan ownership sustainable as an over-reliance on a dwindling support is counter-productive.

Yeah, Erwin has had 2 major injuries. He'll hopefully celebrate his 21st in style.
-
Erwin will come good, just needs time to settle into a consistent run of games. He should be looking to develop in a similar manner to the likes of Steven Fletcher, who had similar attributes at a young age.
-
Wee bit dismayed by the latest blog from the chairman. Thought we'd take a fresh approach to encouraging fans to join. Effectively we're getting asked to stump up and contribute to the current outgoings in years to come for the latest attempt at a short term fix.

It could have been worse as I fully expected Ross County to win. Not convinced Thistle will get dragged into it but they do have a difficult run on paper and it's up to is to make some significant ground between now and 11th April.
-
Today has panned out not too badly. Much needed win for Partick Thistle though given their next 3 games are against the top 3.

Law is not perfect but he's doing a decent enough job and preferable to the alternatives. The only significant change we can make from a personal perspective is if Hammell recovers from injury and replaces Straker (who got out of jail courtesy of Long's mistakes last night - an opinion shared by Willie Miller and Craig Paterson). More generally, our defence has been horribly exposed for a number of years now. I don't see it being addressed between now and the end of the season. Encouragingly though, there is a focus from the coaching staff to improve our defence - something that was seemingly missing during McCalls time when we relied upon the quality of Hutchinson and Randolph. Anyway, the reason we lost last night was due to the keeper losing his head. A position most keepers get into at some point; the test will be how he recovers from it.

Dan put in a string of motm performances and then things got too much for him with the volume of shots he was facing each week. I'd bring him back in after some much needed timeout. He's got plenty of heart and natural ability about him. Long and Neilsen have shown that physical frame and presence don't always make the difference.
-
Our play hasn't really merited any luck this season after getting more than our fair share last year. 90% of the breaks going against us stem from our own incompetence. Despite the positivity of 1st half, really can't see us winning 6/9.
-
Shocking way to throw away the game, which piles on the pressure for the Accies game and gives our rivals a boost for tomorrow. Watching the press conference yesterday, I was struck by some of Long's comments where he was almost underestimating the challenge that lay ahead in Aberdeen. Hopefully tonight serves as a wake-up call for him and Laing. Straker has been a lost cause from the moment he departed York.
-
We're 66/1 now.
-
Langfield back in goals for them. Thought Ramsden would be back in the team but thankfully Straker doesn't have to deal with Hayes. We need a result here or the pressure next Friday will be immense.

McDonald 2-1 is 325/1 with Sky.
