  1. Is the pitch back to it's old ways regarding drainage? It didn't look too great last week. Can look forward to the summer football rhetoric being trotted out.
  2. I used to be behind the idea of summer football until I realised how boring winters would be. Motherwell's drop in attendances is in contrast to a good few premier league teams post Rangers. Think we need to look closer to home if we wish to address that particular problem.
  3. I mind him giving me the fear at Morecambe. Really lazy signing that has probably cost Motherwell a fair whack.
  4. I think if he's worth knowing about, which I'm convinced he is, clubs and scouts will be well aware of his potential irrespective of first feam exposure at Motherwell. Dom and Nathan Thomas both lining up against Killie tonight.
  5. Glad to see he has stopped referring to Motherwell as 'us'. The overhaul in recent months speaks volumes with regards to the shortcomings of McCall and Dempster who were working with a very decent budget.
  6. Given the gulf in our last two performances, it's impossible to look more than 1 game ahead and I'm just fascinated to see if we can sustain progress given how inept we've been for the bulk of the season. Added pressure on us this Saturday as expectations grow immediately.
  7. Keith Lasley, captain fantastic. What a difference when he has some support around him.
  8. Much more like it today. We resembled a professional football team that was well drilled with bundles of desire and good fitness. Good to see some evidence of the pressing and shape that the management team have been talking about. Impossible to underestimate the difference Pearson and Skippy made but Lasley also answered some of his critics today with a proper captains performance. McManus done likewise and Johnson looks like a potentially decent signing. Positives all round. More of the same next week please.
  9. Think it's pretty clear from his press conference that he's up here to play as a striker.
  10. Appreciate update. On the face of it, the club is moving on the right direction. Hopefully we can secure Erwin and Thomas ASAP.
  11. Coyne and Coyle coincided with one of my most of enjoyable times following Motherwell. Higdon and Ojamaa probably top of the list in terms of quality and productivity.
  12. Our performances have been so inept, we could sign Ronaldo and Messi and I'd still no be sure about us staying up. However, Skippy is one of my all time favourite and would welcome his return. Not only for his quality but his character. Last I read mind you, he was playing in midfield for Millwall.
  13. Long overdue appointment and it sounds like a decent selection. Assume these recent recruits will still be in place when Baraclough inevitably departs...
  14. Get shot of him. Boy won a watch getting a 2 year deal at Motherwell.
  15. You can't possibly try and compare Straker to anyone else on the park. Utterly out his depth and barely resembled a professional footballer. Jury out on the rest but they come with a decent write-up and deserve a wee bit of time to settle, preferably in a conventional formation and playing style.
  16. Wee bit of positive news if we can rip us his contract.
  17. Or maybe Craigan, given his connection with the new assistant.

You know it's a bad day when the stadium announcer refrains from reading out multiple motm awards.
  19. I think there are far bigger worries than Lasley, especially your man at left back.
  20. Seen it many a time but there should be a lot more due-diligence done when there is potentially millions of pounds riding on the appointment. On another point, I don't think there is a need for a scapegoat but the fans deserve a sincere apology when the moment is right. How can we blindly rally around the club and bring friends to the game when performances on the park, and the decisions that lead to these performances, are so brutally inept.
  21. It was genuine comedy today. Looked like someone that had won a competition to play. Baraclough did say that Straker would bring athleticism and energy didn't he?
  22. I don't think anyone is suggesting that Van Der Gaag would have been a guaranteed success. In a two horse race though, he had the far better pedigree. Watching the post match interview, I think he's gone.
  23. There was a comment from Burrows that Sligo's success in turning over the Dublin clubs swung it in Baracloughs favour. Baffling if true.
  24. I understand it to be Weir, McMahon, McCafferty and Burrows with the new owner giving him the nod. If these men have any credibility they'll hold their hands up soon enough. The fact that It was seemingly a straight choice between this fraudster with an insignificant cv and a former player who has managed at the top level in Portugal makes it all the more galling.
  25. I think you have absolutely nailed it. It's been sheer fantasy from Baraclough and those backing him.
