That would leave plenty of scope for Vigurs to make the most of a mobile front 3.

We don't have a particularly small squad. We have 8 defenders, 5 central midfielders, a winger, 5 forwards and Josh Law. Looking at the team from Friday, Cadden and Thomas couldn't get on the bench despite the Ross County pair missing. Quality is the issue.

On the face of it, I viewed Clarkson as a decent squad option until Moore returned from injury, with a view to McHugh going out on loan to facilitate the wage. As it turns out, he looks far sharper than I imagined but that will be partly down to Hartley's methods. Good luck to him. I wouldn't be surprised though if the Clarkson situation, on top of Faddy's release, annoyed a few of our senior players. McManus, the first to resign before Faddy left, was relatively vocal in the summer about needing a couple of quality additions.

Given that McCall made noises about having the lineup nailed at 5.30 last Saturday, that was an absolutely abysmal performance devoid of tactics, desire and quality. Folk talk about budget and lack of numbers but when you look at who didn't make the bench tonight, we have depth but the quality has been sacrificed. There are boys in this team who won't be full time professionals 3/4 years from now. And at the other end of the scale, there is a couple of well paid experienced individuals who are unwilling to dig and lead, despite being picked week after week. 2 more weeks for the players to save McCall.

For two experienced pro's, Sutton and McManus are an embarrassment.

We're playing much of the shite that we played last season. Get Erwin, Ainsworth and a midfielder on.

Has it be suggested this is the way we are lining up? It's the formation that crossed my mind. Would be happy enough with that shape. However, if Leitch, Carswell and Vigurs are fit, then the inclusion of Law speaks volume.
