  1. The issue is that during 6/7 years of relative success, we have failed to provide a platform to sustain the future of the club. This leads to apathy. In terms of the league, we can do any better than recent years but have relatively nothing to show for it. Interesting to see what happens with the WS over the next couple of months. Reading tweets about soft loans to fund fan ownership?
  2. No bother. Judging by the attendance figures, I'm not the only one scunnered by a sham of a summer.
  3. McCall has played his part in getting an organised and competitive Scotland team on the park. Massive couple of months ahead for the national team, good luck to all involved.
  4. A relegation battle might reignite interest for some. Another £23 saved today.
  5. If the rumours regarding the salary of youth team manager at the time of JJs appointment were true, I can't see a media gig being too appealing for an experienced professional. On the media front, it would be nice to have the under 20s fixture list on the website.
  6. Agreed. Winning certainly isn't sufficient to do the trick. Our qualification for Europe against ICT a few months back is as low key as I've seen Fir Park. Young kids playing good football with the potential to secure the financial future of the club is required with a mentality, that on our day, we can beat absolutely anyone.
  7. At some point we'll get it right with Ainsworth, Vigurs, Ojamaa and Erwin clicking into gear. Who knows when though.
  8. Are player contracts still pegged to the league position bonus scheme? Do we still budget for top 6?
  9. According to Derby fans, O 'Brien is a good defender but very uncomfortable with the ball at his feet so we're maybe wary of putting him at fullback. Alrhough I suppose it doesn't stop us playing Reid.
  10. If this form was to continue, a few directors would be sweating at the prospect of us going down as the much missed sevco come up. Piss poor summer on and off the park was always going to have an impact early season. Given how bad this league is though, it doesn't take much to turn fortunes around.
  11. We got 2nd playing far from attractive football in arguably the worst top tier of my lifetime. The increase in Season Ticket price was always going to lead to a drop in crowds. McCall has been very candid during his interviews this season as usual and he's a good listen. However, when asked about aspirations, he says all that matters is winning games. I disagree, for a club thats living on fine margins, we need a longer term view and a solid youth infrastructure should be central to our business model. Yet we seemingly don't have a left back at under 20 level. That's not McCalls fault but who is ensuring the future of the club?
  12. Despite our success last season we had an unbalanced squad and we've done little to address it during the summer. Lasley and Carswell aren't good enough on the ball to play a 442. Ainsworth and Vigurs don't do any tracking back to support a 442. Our top scorer can only play in a 442. When did we last have a genuine left sided midfielder? Wasn't there today but baffled by the reports than am 18 year old got no protection or support playing put of position.
  13. Sounds like I've dodged a bullet today. No surprise with the result given how Inverness' midfield dominated ours in the previous 2 meetings at fir park.
  14. There was a tweet from Alan Burrows that may or may not suggest there could be some more wheeling and dealing. Obviously there would need to be an outgoing or two for anything to happen. Noticed Hibs have on if the Lindblom stable on trial...
  15. If Vigurs was fit we may have slotted Law in at left back given he's played most of his recent career at fullback, albeit on the other side. However, we need him going forward. No idea how we'll line up today, imagine Leitch will make way for Ainsworth.
  16. Ha, exactly the same thought process. We rode our luck somewhat in our last 2 games against Inverness when we were overrun in midfield. Looking forward to a tough game.
  17. Had a wee hunch about this. Happy as larry. Him, Ainsworth and Erwin running at defences has potential to cause havoc. Vigurs will also benefit from his movement.
  18. Me too. Sure there performances may be inconsistent but the prospect of seeing a couple of quality youth products getting the opportunity to develop puts a spring in the step.
  19. It would have been a helluva result to get a point tonight given how depleted we are. Onwards to Saturday,
  20. So McCall found out about Cole on Friday night then. Whoever he was talking about today, it sounded like an ambitious move.
  21. Morgyn Neill to get on the bench then. Leitch didn't have a great game up at Tannadice last time but I'd be inclined to play him in a midfield 3 tomorrow.
