This is a tad surreal. Is the prospect of an agreement between Nobby and Boyle so close that fans are lending £10k+ on mass? If there is constant negotiation between multiple parties, how can we can genuinely be looking to recruit a new manager at present? By the way, I'm afraid the 'statement' is a panic ridden ramble.

Butcher didn't really motivate Hibs did he? Infact he went in there and told players they weren't good enough, then recalled them when they were battling for points. Butchers tactics were brutal for much of his time at FIr Park.

I do hope McKinlay gets an interview. After his time at Watford, had a wee read up on him and he certainly looks to be a good coach who will likely have a good grasp of the younger players available down south courtesy of his time with Fulham. Pressley is still at Coventry, albeit his days may be numbered. Davie Weir will probably apply but not my cup of tea. Coyle and McKinley would be high up my list of preferences but doubt either could be enticed. Iain Murray will possibly develop in a similar manner to Hartley and McNamara but not convinced we are the right club for him. No idea really although I'd be happy with a sober George Burley. In terms of left field, is Simo still managing in Finland? IIRC, Moyes brother was involved in our consideration for Stubbs last time and may be consulted again as he's done various bits and bobs for the club since.

To be fair, nothing will ever be worse than being pumped off 3rd division Rangers. Can't see him being in the running for that gig anyway. Interesting report that he was ready to leave after the Dundee game. If true it puts the notion to bed that he could have turned it around. Nevertheless, his honesty and integrity fitted well with the club and we will struggle to replace him with someone that connects so well with the majority of the support. A good performance against Dundee Utd would be a huge slap in the face for McCall and the support.

If change is as imminent as the Well Society panic suggests, then we can't possibly appoint a permanent manager at present.
