    Celtic

Nobody outstanding but I'd probably say Hammell just about deserved it, he kept Forrest very quiet and was comfortable in possession as usual. Clancy would have been in with a shout if he hadn't been sent off. I heard Nickly Law got Sponsores motm. Really good footballer but the tactic of him driving for the corner flag is wearing a wee bit thin, particularly when he doesn't have a left foot to cross it in with.
  2. We gave it a good go today and came up just short. I despise they bastards but they just about deserved it for taking the game to us in the 2nd half. In saying that, we engineered two excellent opportunities that were thwarted by the all too familiar sight of Law and Murphy hesitating in front of goal. Good solid performances from just about everybody but we are lacking in a couple of key areas.
  3. Motherwell tried to punt him all summer, seeking in the region of £800k.
  4. Rarely will you get a good atmosphere for a noon kick-off but it might be a wee bit better than normal given that Celtic are there for the taking. If this had been under the floodlights the atmosphere would have been electric.
  5. 25 points was getting claimed yesterday.
  6. Sounds like Hammell could be out for a wee while.
  7. Real test of character next week but I can't wait for it. It's one thing beating Celtic when we are mid-table or fighting relegation but it's a whole different battle when we are sitting above them in the league. I'd be more confident going into this game if Celtic had beaten Hibs but I think they will come to Fir Park really focused on regaining 2nd spot. However, looking at the current starting XIs we don't need to rely on Celtic having an off today to get a result against them. If we play to the top of our game, we can be more than a match for them. Celtic have blown us away the last 3 times we have played. Would be fucking magic if we going get a wee bit of revenge for the Cup Final in particular and do ourselves justice. And thinking back to Lennon's speech at Parkhead at the end of the season, it would be rather fitting if his 'beginning' was to come to a brutal end at Fir Park, the glorious home of numerous Celtic fuck-ups over the years.
  8. That was fucking sweet, not often we come from behind. Jeffers game at Aberdeen maybe the last time? Celtic and Hearts results make it a very good day.
  9. 2 goals, one from a corner and one from outside the box. Come on Motherwell...
  10. Page has previously played against Celtic at left back and looked an absolute mile out. Between Halsman and Clancy I imagine.
  11. Lengthy gash to his leg apparently. Hopefully only out for a game or two.
  12. Heid. Hopefully get to ht at 1-1 and try and get ourselves sorted out.
  13. Particulary when Clancy has settled in so well at centre half.
  14. 25 yarder fae Davis. All came from Clancy giving away a daft foul.
  15. Would be hoping for a longer deal as once Hughes is in the team, he's the man that tends to make you tick. Shame we forked out a wage for Daley.
  16. Still scarred from our previous Friday night game with Hibs.
  17. Seriously? Hateley is a strong contender for our poty so far. Hughes would undoubtedly bring more goals to the team through his creativity.
  18. Murphy & Humphrey would also benefit from playing alongside Hughes while I imagine Hughes and Law would be on the same wavelength.
  19. I drove by Fir Park on Saturday, anxiously trying to get up to the house in time for kick-off. I've enjoyed going to the majority of games this season but TV games against non-OF teams are out the question.
  20. A fit Stef Hughes would walk into the team. Any indication in the interview that a deal is possible?
  21. I imagine McCall would have been banking on Saunders and Hutch getting a few goals from set pieces this season. Murphy does a power of work dropping deep either to try and create or to cover midfielders that are out of position. To get more goals, Murphy needs to be told to stay up front and run in behind. Such a move would leave us more open defensively but a player of Murphy's ability should be hitting 15 a season by now.
  22. I'm not quite getting the criticism of Hateley's corners. Cast your mind back to the days of Kevin McBride. I can think of 3 poor deliveries but there were a number of cracking deliveries that should have led to good efforts on goals. Porter, McDonald, Sutton & Juke would all have scored from at least one of they corners today. Sadly we don't have a striker that thrives on such opportunities.
  23. Decent enough game. I personally think both teams are over-hyped but both clubs have a committed bunch of players trying to play decent stuff. Plenty dangerous crosses into the box in the first half but nobody attacking them. I like big Higdon but he doesn't possess the natural instincts of a goalscoring centre forward. Second half started promising but I thought we lost our shape soon after the double save from the Killie keeper. Double substitution didn't help, either Murphy or Humphrey should have stayed on with a view to playing McHugh right through the middle. All in all, McCall and the players continue to do a good job.
