That is very welcome news regarding Craig Clay, credit to all parties for finding a solution. Good luck to Clay with his new team. You can't question his application or dedication but he was evidently well out of his depth. Assuming Blyth walks, is there any further McGhee deadwood we need to get rid of?

I reckon Killie could be an option if he doesn't mind the plastic pitch. I wouldn't rule out Hibs either despite the events of last summer, particularly if the Stokes deal falls through.

Decent enough start to the season with some really well taken goals. Back 3 gives me the fear but Robinson is clearly trying to address this area. I suspect our general play won't be pretty this season but it'll hopefully prove effective if we can maintain a spine of quality players. Morton could be a proper test next week.

Erwin wouldn't be a direct replacement for Moult but he's someone I'd take back at Motherwell. No idea if him and Robinson got on well at Oldham but if they did, I imagine we'll have made enquiries. Erwin certainly offers the athleticism that Robinson craves. Having said all that, he's being linked with the likes of Charlton and MK Dons so would be surprised to see him leaving Leeds without a deal to an English club being close to completion.

Don't think Dembele will be much of a miss. Unless McManus is crocked, I think we have far greater priorities tbh.

Motherwell and Moult are playing this perfectly. Main frustration however is that there doesn't appear to be much of interest from clubs down south. Hopefully that changes prior to late August. Here's hoping this can be solved sooner rather than later, allowing us to reduce the debt by £200-300k whilst leaving scope to bring in 2 quality players on a decent wage. With at least 1 of the players meeting the Marvin/Moult blueprint.

McInnes wants a proven goalscorer to compete with Rooney. The centre forwards mentioned above, Storey and Stockley, aren't up to the task and will be offloaded in due course.

I think Aberdeen will still be looking for a centre forward but depending on the fee paid for GMS, an increased offer for Moult may well be out the question now.

I have no problem at all with Moult comments, I just feel he is under valued. I read Hibs rejected 1milion for McGinn For me Moult has been the most consistent player outside Celtic 1st team. An offer of 250k is an insult we paid 175k for Shaun Mcskimming

No surprise if we go down the 4231 route. However, for that formation to be successful you need a right good number 10. We may or may not have made an offer for Scougall or Carey but either of them would have made perfect sense. Surprises me that we seem content with a list of unproven options for such a key position.

His comments are perfectly fine. He and the club know it's mutually beneficial to get him sold in the next few weeks. Shame he's not fit enough to bang in a few goals during the League Cup and generate further interest.
