We'll hopefully get clarification whether Rose is the attacking midfielder. Hopefully not.
I think most would agree with Steelboy, that we need a creative midfielder with a bit of guile to drag the team up the park and open up defences. Frear and Cadden can be excellent attacking outlets but they would benefit greatly from a Nicky Law type pulling the strings. This is why names like Scougall and Carey excite me.
Possibly. I have reservations over the quality of player that is willing to tie himself down to a trial at this point of the summer. Probably reading too much into it mind you.
Players in the same bracket as Scougall and Stewart shouldn't be wildly out of reach. While our budget will be tight, we have lost 2 of our biggest earners and there is more money than usual floating about Scottish football this summer courtesy of the TV deal and Celtic.
Regarding the players mentioned, Scougall has said he's considering offers from Scotland. Stewart meanwhile will probably come back up the road on loan with someone playing a fraction of his wage. There will obviously be plenty of competition for him though.
Burrows confirmed on twitter that the delay in naming the new left sided defender relates to injury/fitness.
Shame, I was hoping we'd prioritise left back for a bit of proven quality.
I think we just need to be patient. We are probably looking at 10+ signings this summer and they will vary in quality, experience and anticipated contribution.
Burrows enthusiasm suggests to me that we'll make a number of signings at the Moult/McHugh end of the spectrum. To date, I'd say Bigi and Carson probably fit into that category. My hunch is that the proposed attacking midfielder will be along similar lines.
Maybe just teasing the muppets like us that'll go searching for a name. Otherwise, a player under contract to end of June - it is a bid odd though.
Hopefully more news to come today.
I'd always welcome Quinn back, particularly with the diminishing contribution of Lasley and Hammell, however I thought injuries were starting to catch up with him.
Talking of ex Motherwell defenders, I wonder where Nicky Devlin will end up. Left Ayr and seemingly one of the best players in the Championship last season.
According to the Sounders, he's a defensive midfielder that can play centre back or right back. He may have a Pearson/Cadden type engine but more of a defensive all rounder with less technical ability I suspect.
I agree Moult is the better striker but Cummings has 3 years to go in his contract while Moult can sign a pre-contract in 6 months.
Hibs are in a strong position financially and their manager has publically stated their ambition to finish top 2. With record ST sales, serious money will be spent. I suspect Liam Boyce will be their first choice striker mind you.
57% rise on where we were this time last year, that's adults and kids combined.
Given the dwindling numbers in recent years, the aim has to be increasing the adult ST base by 10%+.
I hope we are looking for an out and out left back, an absolute priority for me. We should have enough of a budget to ensure we don't fill our first choice spots with versatility.
I've not seen him, found this when reading up on Bigi.

Upon further reading he seems to have had his fair share of injuries. Coventry fan from on here will know more.
Brad Inman? Ex Newcastle, recently transfer listed by Peterborough.
Interestingly, Peterborough have also transfer listed an experienced NI right back, Michael Smith, and a pacy forward that we previously had a bid rejected for, Shaq Coulthirst.
