  1. Still struggling to comprehend how Chalmers got propelled into the team ahead of Cadden, Laing and Watt.
  2. Utterly embarrassing result. The absence of Lasley and Grinshaw is not an excuse for losing 6-0 to a half decent Hearts team.
  3. No like Mark to get carried away. At least his self-promoted 900th game didn't result in his biggest ever pumping.
  4. The idea of putting our right back into centre midfield, our left back to right back and a guy from the cold to left back appears to be going against us. Move to Anfield just got further away.
  5. The 4 defenders usually go through a drill.
  6. Think that lineup has thrown as all, I assumed Chalmers played left back for the u20s ok Tues. No clearer on how we are going to lineup. Not Hammell in midfield surely...
  7. Falkirk offers a fine springboard for young talent. Good luck to the boy, Louis Laing has never quite recovered from that night.
  8. He could have earned decent money down south. And if successful, would now be on really good money.
  9. If at all possible, Nicky Law would fit perfectly into the current setup. Terrific talent who made a bad decision in terms of career progression,
  10. Do players out on loan still get to play for u20s? Never noticed that before. Regard midfield, 1st team football is some way off but I gather Allan Campbell is one that the coaching staff are keen on.
  11. I think that could work in our favour going forward.
  12. I'm not a fan of McDonald in midfield but it may be a case of needs must and it was proven to work at Ibrox. Yes he had a nightmare by all accounts at Tynecastle but he's much sharper now than he was then. If lasley was available, I'd be replacing Grimshaw with Cadden who is comfortable on the right. With Lasley missing though, more restructuring is required which may lead to both wingers playing. Their two fullbacks are rotten at defending.
  13. Looks like Preston have been keen on him for a few months. Fair play to Grimshaw, he came up to an unknown environment, applied himself excellently and now has his just rewards. Wish him well.
  14. This was always going to be difficult with Lasley missing but it's just got a whole lot harder. If McGhee can somehow pull off a masterstroke in midfield then I'd play both wingers with Skippy dropping a bit deeper. Suspect we'll lose this by a couple.
  15. United sold Ben Pearson, former under 21 poty, to Preston for 100k the other day after being on loan at Barnsley. Might be a similar move on the cards. Saturday just got a whole lot tougher but we can't afford to gamble on a quick fix like we did with Jake Taylor before heading to Tynecastle in August.
  16. That's a sore one. Terrific player that provided us with some much needed balance. He'll be hard to replace.
  17. It's been a few years since I moved from the East to the back row of the Cooper. So up until the weekend, could you get away with standing behind the barrier for the bulk of the game? Stewards used to pretty tetchy if you attempted to stand there for a few minutes.
  18. Glad to be at home. Game against the Cup Holders is always going to be a tough one but hopefully our desire for an overdue cup run gets us over the line. Have we ever beat Invernrss in the cup? I can recall 2 defeats.
  19. Would have fancied a trip to Dunfermline but the likelihood is Ross County will progress. Dumbarton away please.
  20. 4th game in the trot I've voted Skippy. Great to see him in such good shape and form, long may it continue. Pearson isn't far behind him in performance level.
  21. Credit to McGhee going with his strongest team. And he was rewarded with the job being done in 6 minutes. As has been mentioned, it could have been 8 or 9 if we weren't obsessed with teeing up Faddy. Only disappointment of the day was Dom Thomas not making the most of a rare opportunity. All the skill in the world but he done little to suggest McGhee could trust him in a premier league game.
  22. Backup and long term replacement for Hammell would be a priority of mine. We fall apart whenever he is out the team. Tam Scobbie though, never been impressed.
  23. I'd give Cadden and Laing or Kennedy a run out but otherwise start full strength. No messing about here hopefully.
  24. Would be gutted to see Ainsworth go. A regular match winner who's consistency and work ethic have been largely excellent in the last year. However, McGhee's shift in formation and love for Marvin may have prompted Ainsworth to consider his future; particularly when he was subbed at Parkhead after coming on at half time and changing the game. Regarding Dom Thomas, he didn't make bench either.
  25. Skippy for the 3rd game in a row. We'll do well to hang onto him in January.
