Most of us support the blueprint of unearthing gems in their early 20s from England and beyond. Players that are capable of making an an immediate impact but with scope to develop. That being the case, we're likely to be looking at players who have had a bad injury or went off the rails a little with Motherwell offering the platform to bounce back. Fletcher fits the profile we're committed too. I'm looking forward to seeing something new in pre-season.

Didn't see the Clarky deal coming. Hopefully he'll do a job for us, primarily as backup, with minimum financial outlay. At least McManus will have no reason to go in the huff for the first 3 months of the season.

I don't see Reid playing a significant part going forward and would be disappointed if Law was first choice right back. If Watt can do the business then great but he's ultimately a centre half. 2 strikers plus Skippy is a big ask but I think it's what we'll end up with. Erwin and Sutton both need replacing. Baraclough likes to have options from the bench.

Definitely think adding quality to the midfield is key. It's been one of our main failings in the last 2 seasons and I think we have finally reached the point where we can't rely on Lasley every week. We also need to play a midfield three on a more regular basis. There should be scope with Vigurs, Lawson and Carswell all leaving. My shopping list would be Skippy, Laing, keeper, midfielder, 2 strikers, back up centre half and ideally a right back.

I see the Motherwell Times are speculating about Livi striker, Jordan White. Hopefully we get a few in before heading to the Netherlands, including Laing and Skippy.

Massive season for Moore. Prior to his injury, I don't think there was much doubt he'd make a similar impact similar to what Erwin has went on and achieved. However, it remains to be seen if he can recover fully from his injury. I rate him highly but he looked painfully slow against Thistle and during his Ibrox cameo.

Spot on. McCall lost it the summer he contemplated the Sheffield United move and had no interest in the future of Motherwell while dishing out deals to Lawson, Vigurs, Neilsen and McHugh. Humping Rangers was all the sweeter for McCall being in the oppositions dugout.
