You can't just look at one part of the criteria and try and judge the overall situation on just that. For all you know that bookings/sending offs only account for 5% of the marks and are therefore pretty insignificant.

While I can understand the Canterbury issue, I would have thought that JAXX are on our strips to promote them (JAXX) and their logo and they would be more than happy if their name was on a mock up; increasing their exposure. We're currently in 7th place in the league and our attendances are in the top 7, so we not punching above our weight.

It's the top 3 countries that get an additional place, so we are currently in line for one.

So being second in a competition is rewarding failure but giving the reward to the team finishing 5th in another competition isn't.

It's the SFA that allocate the places not the SPL, I had a quick check of SFA site I can't find any mention of it. I recall when it was first mentioned that only the winners could qualify the SFA applied too late but UEFA said they would not entertain the idea anyway.
