  1. The fact this thread has extended to so many pages tells a story in itself.

That said - I left after 4 goals yesterday and thought that Yassin wasn't at fault for anything in the game. He wasn't particularly good but no one in the team was. The problems yesterday were more about our central positions and left side of defense. Yassin looked like the only player capiable of getting the ball into an advanced position and able to create something.

That said - he's still never a player worth 5 figures every week.

  2. Will be interested to hear from Jim how many more players like Forbes we have coming through the youths.

Also would like to ask him about the logic behind the silly passout to Hately that always puts us under pressure.

For Mark Hately, I would like to know if Tom qualifies for Scotland under the new eligibility rules?

For Craig Brown. The Sunday Herald claimed that when he was the Scotland manager, he was effectively part time. What is his thoughts on a part-time manager now? I.e. Davie Moyes.

Would he come back himself? Has he applied?

What was his biggest mistake as National coach? Not subbing Tommy Boyd against Belgium when 2-0 up I presume?

I'm really looking forward to this night. Just so we get the number of pies right - who's all planning to come along?

  3. Well since "Oor Jim" is keeping the media away, if you really want to hear what he has to say, come along to the Fans Forum on Thursday week!

We'll be asking for some questions in advance as well get yer thinking hats on for what you want to ask him.

  4. Fair amount of mixed emotions for me. Start of the season I would have bit yer hand aff for a Top 6 finish. The frustrating thing is most of us know that we could have been clear top just now IF we had scored that PK against Rangers, IF we had scored that PK against Accies, IF we had held out yesterday and IF we had turned the tempo up on Aberdeen last week.

We are fitba fans - we are never going to agree on everything. But some of us are dreamers - and we could very well have been in dreamland right now if Gannon had made better decisions. That said, if we didn't have Gannon at the helm I am certain we would have been in the relegation battle. Gannon is both God and the Devil.

  5. Another point, that second half today proved if it needed proving that Keith Lasley is not worthy of a starting place in that team. Time and time again he was late in the tackle and giving the ball away constantly. We need someone better.

Actually disagree with you Neil. Thought he was a calming influence on the midfield when we needed to slow it down a bit and protect the lead.

  6. You had this guy sussed weeks ago mate .

Without a word of a lie, he did. On the way up to the Hibs game he said, "if John Hughes puts Rihordan on him, we will lose coz his positioning is jobby"...

My biggest problem today was that, toward the end, even although we were a goal and a man over, he persisted to go forward.

  7. Spot on post Brazillian

I was talking to Leeann on Saturday and she was highlighting how much the club had done for the community. She was a wee bit concerned that they hadn't had much feedback for this good work and I did say that the silence was a compliment in itself. There isney much to moan about just now... apart fae Yassin!

  8. Always been more fond of the Jambo trip but coz...

    A. Closer to the train station

    B. Haymarket has a boozer right next to the station

    C. There is a brilliant place tae hide yer carry oot for the train hame just round the corner

    D. Atmosphere - best away ground bar none due to being so close to the pitch

    E. Laser Quest (Steaming)

    F. Said boozer above has a local visitor who sells dully DVD's!

    G. Curry Pies

Hibs but... Highlight is usually getting wound up from the locals when crossing the railway bridge with their threats of tossing you onto the train line.

  9. I think everyone that is defending Yassin is missing something. Saunders can play right back! Once Hutch is back fully fit I would have him in at Centre Half and push Saunders onto the right back bearth.

Busta disney sit moaning all game - he just moans when someone is really fucking shite - and he is!

  10. a few here!

The big man got my motm @ the buns game, inconsistancy is to be expected!

Two or three months ago i thought we'd be lucky to be ahead of Hearts or top 6 at any point of the season! Now those jambo fekers are 2 points from bottom, lmao!

The team is almost over performing in the time scale.

    I'll get ma coat!

Get your coat indeed. Nowt wrong with calling a spade a spade! He's shite, proper shite at that. Bit of healthy debate on the forums about how shite a player is doesny hurt.

  11. See to be honest - I don't think he booked him for the jersey at all. When he was walking back to his own half he kept shouting for the other Aberdeen players to slow down, so I thought the ref was booking him for timewasting. I'm probably completely wrong and was probably smoking crack yesterday, but canny see a ref sending him off for the jersey!

  12. Only couple of things on this.

If Gannon said to the players "how often have you cleared a ball off the line at a corner", the answer will always be hardly every coz it's been YEARS since we put a man on the post!

I personally wished we did put someone on the post, but canny mind what game it was yesterday in the premiership, but someone got beat at the post despite the fact they were hugging it showing how hard it can be.

  13. Got to say that next weekends fixtures all look tasty!

We are only 6 (SIX!) points off the top, Utd are 3 points off the top! Sheep vs. h**s is always a good game. The tims have St Mirren, who are capiable of taking something at porkheid. The only top 6 team who have it easy this week is Hibs.

Best case for us would be for the Tims to spank St Mirren and us to beat Utd. That way we put plenty of distance between us and the bottom 6.

The Old Firm are garbage and I actually think someone is going to take them the distance. If we show enough on Saturday (and can escape January without losing anyone) don't see any reason why it can't be us. Lose on saturday and you can write off our hopes of going the distance. Hibs of course are the main team to back for taking the squirm to the wire, but our boys should play on saturday with the belief it could be them!

  14. Part of me thinks he just gives Craigan 45 minutes here and there to keep him sweet. Especially considering we stuck with the same formation.

To be fair, he changed the formation. Murphy was brought on to make the team more attacking. He just hooked the wrong man. Accies were playing 1 up front after the sending off and Gannon obviously thought he could get away with 1 centre half. It was almost like he had Saunders man marking their centre forward with Hatley as a sweeper.

He should have just hooked Forbes or Hatley to change it rather than Craigan. Mistake by the gaffer, but so long as he gets more right than wrong we will be fine!

  15. I thought his comments were quite good. Put it this way, Manager and Young Player of the month. The wee yins might have thought, ya beauty we are bullet proof.

The bench warmers will obviously try to raise there game. The young yins know to keep their place they need to stay consistant and not let the hype get to the heeds.

Gannon taking the cream puff wae the press isney right, but his initial comments were fine.

  16. No Shug,

Martin's seat is and always has been a personal one.

I would never accept a seat on the club board unless I won the EuroMillons and bought the club or was elected as a supporters rep by a wide group of fans. I have done neither so on a matchday it's pie and bovril for me, nane of yer prawn sandwich pish.
