When we humped Ross County a few months back, McGhoo played his best winger (Ainsworth) on the wing and dropped Bowman to play his two best strikers up front. That's hardly rocket science. No one could ever convince me that Motherwell haven't at some point in their history, accommodated a talented winger who couldn't defend.

At the time, I had a Mk3 Cortina complete with Claret & Amber paintwork in the style of Starsky & Hutch. Lost my rear window that day and was lucky to escape down Gorgie Rd alive.

To be honest, I really don't think anyone should be surprised by the way this is going. Look at Mcghee's record in management. Good start, a season and a half later, he's struggling. When he arrived here the first time, he was all fresh and full of sports science and tactics (probably due to being out the game for a while). Great season then the slippery slope down hill and pissed a lot of fans off with his apparent whoring and giving off an aura of being too big for the job. His spell at Aberdeen left them arguably as shite as we are now. People seem to think he's a class manager cause he's managed a few teams bigger than us, but all that gives him is a record of failing at bigger clubs than us. I'll be the first to admit that he exceeded expectations last year. Keeping us safely up was my expectation and we did better than that, but it looks like the players didn't train pre-season and his signings have been dire. We pay to bring in guys like Frear while leaving Ainsworth in the stand, we take players on loan who look like they've never played professional football before and we're heading for the split and still don't know our best line up or formation with the players we have. Smacks to me of a guy who's failing (again) but still believes he should be managing somewhere bigger. In my opinion. the guys career is over and I just hope he doesn't get the opportunity to finish us off with it.

This. ^^ On his game, Ainsworth is one of our biggest dangers. Off his game he's no worse than any other off form player. Lets be honest, do you think there is even a remote possibility that Frear will be half the player Ainsworth is (and can be) ?

To be fair, that was some time ago, under Ally McLeod, a few weeks after he basically ditched an entire first team to play reserve players.

I remember getting back to the car from Fir Park the day Celtic humped Aberdeen 9-0 just in time to hear McGhee on the radio (OK, fair do's, it was brave of him to even come out for an interview). When he was asked what went wrong he said "Look, I know how to manage a football team. Look me up on Wikipedia". Fuckin' tosspot. Get him to fuck. Can't understand why we took the cunt back in the first place. he did the same last time round. Re energised a failing squad one season, shaped it in his image in the second season and made it a shambles. Prick.

Marinello penalty for the winner, wasn't it ? I remember being off school sick that day and my old man wasn't going to take me that night cause he thought I was dogging it. Had to promise to go back the next day. Great night. School rector was a Hibby and was sat right behind me. Took me 20 years to get over the result in the semi though.............
