No way Motherwell will let him go on loan IMO. He's signed a 3 year deal and is beginning to get some game time now that his personal life and injuries have cleared up.
Not too sure how many people will be bothered after the event mind you? Good idea in principle though. I take it there are obviously TV issues as to why it can't be shown live but is it possible to have a delayed transmission on the same day, say like an hour or two? Probably not and that's why they've gone for a Sunday!
It didn't help that he looked about 2 stone overweight when he joined us. His lack of fitness has probably cost him a run of games and we just don't have the luxury to accommodate that sort of player at Fir Park.
By the time this happens it'll be the end of the season and he'll be back down south with another club. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out for him up here and I can't see him being offered an extension to his current deal.
Personally, I don't think Jim O'Brien has any intention of being at Motherwell Football Club after this season. Losing a player to one of your rivals is never easy but that's football these days. Money talks. I'll certainly not be losing any sleep over it.
Unfortunately, until everything has been signed and sealed this is the problem we have. I wonder what the hold up is as we've been speaking about this move for days now? Reminds me of the McGhee era when we lost out on a couple of loan players after dilly dallying about.
Potential for what? To walk away at the end of his contract for nothing? I understand what your saying but we just aren't in the financial position to do so unfortunately.
To be honest, I can't see us getting much more than that for Reynolds. Annoying as it is, as soon as he signs for a Premiership team he'll be instantly worth about four times the value that they paid us for him.
Let's just wait and see. I can't imagine he's letting Craig Brown bring in players/extend contracts and then getting someone else instead. I've no doubt that Craig Brown and Archie Knox will be the next Motherwell management team.
