  1. Personally I think all Primary school kids should get in for £1, High school and students and OAP's for £5

Exactly. Kids in for next to nothing will encourage a pile more adults because the football then becomes an ideal excuse for a reasonably priced 'family outing'. I imagine a lot of guys can only justify going to the football if they take the kids but can't justify/afford the £50 or so needed. Turn that into £25 for an adult and two children and it's problem solved and 3 bums on seats that wouldny otherwise be there.

  2. Nope, i'm still not all that sure if hes a good player or not, i just couldnt be arsed digging out my tin hat. I havent yet seen him properly beat a player and he seems to quite often look like hes completely falling over the ball.

Thought he was maybe the most composed player on the pitch against Rangers. His coolness under pressure was outstanding. I think he'll prove his worth soon.

  3. o'brien got their right back sent off then got subbed straight away. typical unpredictable game from gannon.

Think that was to save O'Brien for Saturday rather than any tactical reasons. Totally udnerstandable as he'd taken quite a few kicks last night and had been carrying a few knocks from being booted up and down the place at tannadice. It's the type of player he is, he's got quick feet and a lot of pace so defenders will always go in a split second too late.

  4. A bit harsh on Forbes mate. No acids dropped though they are murder to get these days :)

Aye your right, I'm not really giving him credit where it's due. He did come into his game, particularly in extra time. Looked much more composed and took his goal brilliantly. Unlucky with the second thumping effort right at the end. I'm usually never one to criticise players but I'm genuinely surprised so many people thought he was excellent tonight.

  5. Forbes :8: Class act. I don't know what his pass completion stats were for tonight but I'll bet you they were mighty impressive. Set play delivery was excellent and scored another great goal. MOTM.

Jings, did one of us drop acid before the game? I thought that was the worst performance I've seen from Forbes this season and was half expecting him to get whipped after half an hour. Thought he said too deep most the game, passing was slack, lost any 50/50s and lacked any really creativity.

The teams performance was a little frustrating at times as it seemed no one was willing to take real responsibility in getting the ball forward. We had a lot of chances to open them up if we had a bit more off the ball movement and a bit more urgency but the tactic seemed to be a rather ineffective 'pass and stand still'.

Delighted with the win mind you, gotta do things the hard way otherwise it wouldny be the Motherwell way.

  6. We have a few injures at the moment so i think we could struggle, but i think some Fringe players should get a game because we need to see them and assess if they are good enough AKA Fraser. If no then Sell in January.

    fraser

    Moutaoukil Craigan Saunders Hammell

    Hately

    Jenning Lasley Fizzy

    McHugh Jutkiewicz

And anyone else that ive missed? Hutcheson fit?

I think your idea would be good against lesser opposition than Inverness but that's a dangerous game to play against any first division team who will be fired up for this game. I imagine cup runs and 'big' cup draws are financially important to any team outside maybe the 6 or so largest clubs in Scotland so they will be going for it and I don't know if the team you've listed will have gelled enough or have the quality to compete.

Admitedly players like Frazer, Fizzy and Laz will be playing with something to prove so they might have that extra edge but it's still a risk Gannon might not want to take, especially when he has already acknowledged the fact that the two cups are our only realistic chances of silverware.

I don't know, I've not seen Inverness this season so maybe I'm giving them too much respect?

  7. Support from the Well fans was great anybody any idea of how many were at the game ?

Thought that masel although I couldny see up to the top section. Was it quite full too?

As for the game, thought Dundee United done well to stifle our attempts to play fitba. Didny give us any time on the ball at all and the big lads throughout the team went through our players in most 50/50s. Ruddy controlled everything in the box and had 5 seconds of absolute quality with that triple save. Canny wait to see the highlights just for that.

I think a draw would have been a fairer result but I guess it makes up for the 2 points dropped against Rangers last week.

  8. You could ask Bop if you could borrow his daft wooly hat with lugs thing to maximise the student look.

Haha, I've actually got one of them masel. I'll just make sure I tell the guy I was "soooooooo wasted last night". Quality shite student patter.

  9. Yeah I'll maybe risk it then. When I was a student I rarely got asked for the card. In fact one time I accidentally handed over my gym card which only has a wee photo of some guy swimming on it and the guy still accepted it.

  10. Is it just me or does the bird doin the interview ask some fucking ridiculous questions?

    Whit wanz?

I think the questions are spot on, all the info I need before an important match and gives a bit of an insight into other issues surrounding scottish fitba the now. Fair doos to her.

  11. There's something perplexing about the fact that we're having a wee chuckle at Aberdeen's pish start to the season and over the moon with ours yet we are only one point above Aberdeen.

Obviously it's because it's night and day between the quality of football thats been on show but there is a very slight fear in me by the end of the season we will still have drawn a lot of games we really should have won and that our league position won't be indicitave at all of the great football we will probably have played.

I remember McGhee last season going on for quite a few weeks that we were on the verge of giving someone a "real doing" and I canny help but feel we are in a similar situation just now. We seem to be on the edge of something magnificant and I hope Gannon can push us over.

In fact, I've got absolute faith in him to do so. 6 points would be amazing but I'd even take 4 and a comfortable mid table place after these 3 games.

  12. I noticed that today. Funny how the line ".....I must admit I'd have placed it the same as Jim did... so the same thing could have happened to me." is conveniently ignored. If we stick to the facts the headline should read I might have missed penalty against Rangers anaw.

I also thought the match report on Monday was a pile of shite. The entire article was pretty much a blaring anouncement that Davie Weir can still run. Out of the whole 90 minutes, was that really the most remarkable thing about the game on Saturday?

  13. I think the problem with these one off incentives is that the folk that go would be going to the games anyway regardless of whether it's £15 or £25. It's easy to loose touch with a football club if you stop going to the games so we need consistantly lower prices to entice the hundreds of Motherwell fans who don't go to the games anymore simply because of the financial commitment.
