  1. I used to enjoy heading down to fir park for the reserve games. Was where I first saw Faddy, Clarky etc. Good Times.

    Why?

Possibly, but Celtic didn't form till two years after us. I could quite believe that it was from just wanting to play football though. Celtic looks like they just wanted to get money out of people. Were they the first of the "Chuggers"?
  3. Anyone know if / when the highlights are likely to be online?
  4. Dancer! always good to get a match abandoned when you are behind! Also, I hope the replay isn't a Friday night!
  5. Exactly what Coldonmac says. Obviously the finance people at the club would need to work out the split points on pricing to ensure they don't make a loss, but the idea and that kind of model is how I would see it done. I can't see how the club could lose out of it. Edit... Shit. That's my 666th post!
  6. Surely worth a try though right? If we don't increase the number of tickets sold, then the club hasn't lost out.
  7. This season so far (as far as I can see) Sun 7 Aug 15:00 H Hearts Sun 21 Aug 14:15 H Rangers Sat 22 Oct 12:45 H Kilmarnock Sun 06 Nov 12:00 H Celtic Fri 02 Dec 19:45 H Hibernian So out of our 7 home games so far, 5 of them have been moved from Saturday at 3pm. Strangely though, from what I can see, all of our away SPL games have been Saturdays at 3pm. I wonder why that is? (I genuinely do wonder - its not a dig) EDIT - Found last years (think I have them all now), I have ignored the Xmas / new year changes) Sun 15 Aug Hibs H (12:00) Sun 29 Aug Celtic H (12:00) Wed 10 Nov St. Johnstone H (19:45) Tue 14 Dec Hearts H (19:45) Wed 02 Feb Kilmarnock H (19:45) Wed 23 Feb St Mirren H (19:45) Sun 27 Feb Celtic H (12:45) Wed 06 Apr Dundee Utd. H (19:45) Sat 30 Apr Rangers H (12:00) Wed 11 May Kilmarnock H (19:45) So, more than half of our home games moved away from Saturday at 3pm. Your probably right. financially I would be cheaper. but its habit and have friends in the same area each game. Also, I know if I didn't buy a season book, I probably would get out of the habit of going altogether. to be honest every year I consider giving it up, but have always found a reason to buy it again. I am again, already seriously considering giving up the ticket and this Friday night thing - if it becomes a regular feature for us, might just be the final thing to do it. Fridays, people tend to be in town at work anyway, so its straight to the pub.
  8. Both.to be honest I am just totally scunnered with the constant moving of games. I've said before that I can understand moving for cup games. I can even grudgingly accept that games can be moved for TV, although I hate that too. But moving a game just for the hell of it? nah. The number of games that I have missed / will miss this year due to games being moved has again devalued my season book. That aside, Friday nights are for going out after work with your work mates, or going out with your partner, or bevvying with your mates. Leave us at least one night a week we can be sure that there won't be a game on. Let people make plans in their lives outwith football. Now there is NO night that you can be sure you can have free in case someone decides, ach lets have a game that night, just for shits and giggles.
  9. I honestly hope the place is empty. I hope Friday night football falls on its arse. I know I will get pelters for saying that, but hey ho. WORST night of the week for football. F*ck even Saturday night would be better than that.
  10. Just out of curiosity, if its against the rules to stand, why don't they throw EVERYONE out at half time?
  11. Keep the Bears. Surely there could be room for another more 'edgy' mascott along side them. Perhaps Claret and amber could focus more toward the cooper, being the family stand. And perhaps the new one could focus more on the PD and East, and obviously winding up the South stand too.
  12. only if you assume that RFC still win the league following a potential 25 point deduction.
  13. Each to their own and all that, but I probably can't go as I my misses works till 7 and I need to be here with the kids. don't think there is much chance of me making it before kick off. If friday night football is going to become a regular theme, then I am happy to leave it to those that want it. Moving football for cup fixtures is one thing. Moving football for tv goes against the grain, I don't like it, but I understand it. Moving football to a friday night for eh, "just because" is a pile of sh*te. doncanster can go take a flying f*ck to himself. and as for whoever at our club thought this was a spectacular idea.... well, I will stop now...
  14. I am more interested in the work a midfielder does to get the ball to the strikers to help them score, and also the work they do as a line of defence. can't just say, Mr Hughes has a slightly better goal ratio, so stick him on the park. other things need to be considered. Just to say though, I would be happy for him to come back to the club, but the age old question of "who do you drop" has never been more prudent.
  15. Hope there will there be a "pay as you go" option, you know, pay your fiver, you get it for a month, then it stops if you don't pay again kind of thing. I don't really want to sign up for a 12 month deal.
  16. No they have't where did you see that? Link?
  17. Tell the SFA to feck off. We play in and are governed by the SPL...
  18. now that, I agree with! however with the tannoy right above us in the east, I would rather they played nothing. the racket that comes off it physically hurts the old ears and you can;t have any conversation with the folk beside you.
  19. Does the same go for McFadden, Clarkson etc.?
  20. to be honest buddy, I got bored after about 10 mins and switched it off. It seemed a bit monotone. Almost an hour for your first one seems a bit long for me. obviously if you had been able to edit it, it may well have been shorter and more to the point. Perhaps condensing it down and getting longer as you get more settled into what you are doing and debating specific aspects of the team or individual games would be better. I will probably go back to it later and pick up from where i left off, but i think I could only listen to it bit by bit. you guys are obviously fans of MFC and I hope this all goes well for you. I will tune into the next one too. Sorry for being a bit negative on it. I really wanted to like it right off!
  21. I had planned in coming out, watching the game then down to strathie park for the fireworks. yet again we allow ESPN to shaft us. Every time we play one of the old scum its the same. time to fight back and tell them where to shove it.
